Yeah I prefer what we have, one thread for everything Rovers related. It's obvious it would be a large thread as it's just ongoing, and with the news of the stadium, new board, Sainsbury's etc there has been lots to talk about (as well as the usual digs, jokes and banter). No idea why people should be offended by one thread, it's not like they are forced to read or partake in it. I guess people have so much free time on their hands they just like to have a moan...

Now if only a rich, local sports-supporting entrepreneur could be persuaded to invest in a project like that. The facilities at the Bristol Sport/UWE multisports centre would doubtless be first class and admired all over the country.

It would certainly put us on the sporting map, especially if we can attract national/international badmington/tennis/gymnastics/athletics/judo/boxing

  3. UWE should just build a international indoor athletics stadium - it would offer them so much more, with covers it could provide a gymnastics and tennis venue as well with 5-10k people. The area really needs something like this, and UWE students would benefit a lot more than they wpould from a football ground. IT would also gets UWE's name out there.

They'll probably claim that Wally could pay for the stadium, but it is a much better option to borrow money and pay interest on a loan.

They cannot/will not get a loan, which suggest that lines of credit are not open to them. They are looking for investors/partners to find the funding for the ground.

UWE can build another faculty on the land, they have the money, so whether Rovers start building is probably no skin of their noses as they will get something built on the site sooner or later.

  5. I don't need to prove anything. We are soon to build a fairly big stadium, and those who are paying for it must think we can fill it, especially since it's designed to be expandable.

You're the one saying we can't fill it, despite all the evidence from Brighton, Hull, Reading, etc.

He says "those paying for it must think we can fill it" but is that really the case ? If Wael thought they could fill a 30/35,000 stadium he would pay for it himself as it would be a cash cow. As we know however he is not buying Rovers a new stadium. So who is paying ? Well no one yet, they are looking for people to help finance the project. So Wael does not have the money, or the lines of credit to fund the stadium himself (even though they "own" a bank ). So who think they can fill it other than the Rovers fans ? As for comparing themselves to Brighton Hull and Reading....  it's like they can see something happening but can't connect the dot's as to why, so blindly think hell, it will work for us too !!

    Yeh. Stupid 15 goal striker.

I know it's a slight dig at what the op said, but how many would he have had if he was more aware of being offside e.g. today it would have been 1-1 mid way though first half. Yes it looks unlikely we are going to win this anyway, but he could have bagged a few more this season and then we'd be "Yeh. Stupid 16 goal striker" "Yeh. Stupid 17 goal striker"  "Yeh. Stupid 18 goal striker"

Oh and and average of 20 posts per day and hundreds of views per day is a bit obsessive

Well there has been a lot to talk about, the Sainsbury decision which could/has had a large impact on the future for our friends, and the buyout of the club by a Trillionaire Jordanian family with ties to the royal family, people smugglers and the maffia.

Speedway , that's the ticket bring back the Bulldogs , get a team with top facility's in the Elite league. it has a massive audience through sky sports and Bristol used to rule , a truly excellent idea . love summer speedway nights

Can you imagine UWE wanting speedway on their doorstep ! They want facilities that their students can use, this isn't Hartcliffe comp where the pupils go for a quick spin in some poor zaps car, students have class you know !!

Come on Steve indoor athletics, gymnastics and tennis venue in Bristol WE NEED IT !!!!!!!!!!
