Another Yate resident and City fan here. Recently moved into Ladden Garden Village, thank god they recently built the Sainsbury's Local, apart from that there's a few bus stops, around 2000 houses (with more constantly being built) and not much else...

That’s gonna end up a concrete jungle - that’s what I think , I delivered to a construction site last week , god houses everywhere with fxxk all else , some nice looking houses but not for me thank you .

Even though it turns out they didn't need to win tonight, I'm sure their 93rd minute winner helped to start the celebrations this evening

Congratulations to Willem on winning the Eerste Divisie title tonight

Any players worth pinching 🙈, that might sour the friendship a little 😳

  3. Done well for us , and I think we had him at his peak , not a jot on Dickie / Webster etc etc but he fitted into a very good side and was very much part of the formula

miserable bugger though , tried to chat with him a few times non match days around portishead and Clifton didn’t want to know it

    🤔mmmmmm perhaps it’s me

Totally agree with what you say

the semis were great but I started to hear rumours people were getting in with out a ticket , now that must have spread like wild fire on social media. Come final day as people said in previous posts was absolute chaos the problems were

A unlike other tournaments it’s hard to put a ring of steel around Wembley du to it being built up all around

B not running at full capacity people knew if they got in there would be spare seats to sit

C I would say a large majority outside trying to get in were probably not members of the England supporters club not any domestic club team so what are they going a banning order from if caught? They had nothing to lose

Unfortunately with Germany just around the corner we will be seeing the same headlines or similar on tv and in the papers (hopefully I’m wrong)with English fans playing up again

The thing is though sticks and you know better than most from your experience of watching England , it’s not reallyEngland fans now is it , not even hooligans,  it seems more like lads in town on a Saturday night or a lads weekend away in Benidorm it’s all a bit of a jolly for them .
any of the easy places to get Netherlands , Germany , Spain , Portugal they will be there in there droves

Macedonia, Belarus , Turkey , Greece  then you get the true England-fans back again

  5. everybody will have there own views of the season of how good or bad it was and we will all have bits of the season which will stick in our memory , good atmosphere somewhere , breaking down on the way home , to many beers missing kick off blah blah blah.   Mine is slightly different- watching back the West Ham reply at the gate makes me smile not just because we one but because of the legend Johnathan Pearce -

Never have I heard a commentator be so bias and give so much information and analysis on a team of a game they were commentating on it really was funny , you could tell from the way he was going through every detail of the club from ex players to the old stands how much he loved the club , it rounded it off for me aswell when he read one of the flags in section 82 DONT GO OUT TONIGHT UNLESS YOUR RED & WHITE , I swear if the camera had panned round on him he was stood up on a chair swinging a scarf round his head with a city shirt on actually singing it .

Well that was my moment , perhaps that sums up our season 🤷

  6. As said in another post the amount of middle class ( not knocking it ) families who seem to go now has risen dramatically. I personally think a lot to do with it has been the huge improvement of the facilities and how decent a stadium Ashton gate is ( though no doubt there will be the  it was better as it was agendas crowd piping up ) I think the teams in our league are some big clubs aswell which attract people to come and watch , Leeds , Leicester etc etc ( I won’t say the other just in case Tinnion & Manning read this and it blows there head off with excitement) Also any one new to the area and students etc along with young kids growing up are always going to choose City over Rovers at the moment unless you come from a diehard Rovers family , Some won’t like this on our day ( far to inconsistent for my liking ) we have played some decent football,  Plymouth Leicester xxxxxxxxxxx 👀at home and Watford Norwich away stands out .

  7. I hope who ever is in charge of funding organising and basically the background of the women’s team are proud of themselves - that team has been hung out to dry this season absolutely shameful ,

really makes you wonder what would happen if ( massive if ) we ever got to the prem

I'm going out in Weston this afternoon,  ironically one of the acts singing in a bar on the sea front is a blue nose, I've had great banter with him and his wife in the past

I wonder if they'll be as jolly today 😁

What bar does music on the front phantom ,

drove past the royal York Hotel on the front yesterday about 5 pm music was bumping from the outside seating area and loads dancing looked a really good atmosphere, as for the rest of the front

nicks Bar , sass , Olea , weatherspoons , Vinnies and the whole promenade absolutely packed

Dread to think what the score is going to be, Chelsea will be so motivated to smash us

They don’t need to be motivated just turn up usually does the trick against our girls 🙈

must be soul destroying for them - fair play to them though

At around the same age, a friend of mine got kicked out of The Sandringham in Bromley Heath for ordering a half a Light Split 🤣.

I done the same but Brown split ( dads drink when he was with us )

    Gotten too big imo.

Started off about 10-15 lads would come down from Bristol to meet the small group of Weston lads who would come up to support city .

now turned into hundreds of city fans go down to Weston to have a drink ,

  12. Been the model pro from the minute he arrived here and if we remember correctly when he arrived here we were an absolute shambles , he as much as anyone has steadied the ship and slowly turned it round both on and off the field

really hope the club keep him on as a coach  ,

was it me or did he genuinely seem to be pretty close to tears

  13. Have lost touch with non league / Amateur/ parks football over the last 10 - 15 years but by reading otib it seems like quite a lot of city fans seem to follow Bristol Manor Farm as there 2nd/local team ( hopefully the farmyarmy the ones who dressed up arnt city fans 🙈)

As for Frome remember going there years ago in a game and I’m sure they all go to the same Barbers 💇

when I was a young un I use to follow a amateur team round called Portway Bristol when I wasn’t playing or city weren’t playing  ( lived close by ) use to go to some of the little Towns where they play and god there was some strange people in these places , went to Chard god almighty what a culture shock that was , Ottery st Mary wow Elmore up in Gloucestershire all I can say is there was some characters in and around the teams and clubhouse .
