  1. 1992-93 season; Rovers & Brentford relegated together from the 2nd tier. It was titled "Division 1" then as the Prem had just started causing the League to retitle their divisions..
  2. Four times Jansson has had the ball and each time, rather than find a team mate, has given City either a throw in or corner
  3. No it's a cunning plan so that the gas can move in on Bishop's Cleve and steal their ground with it's much better facilities.
  4. What goes around, comes around.
  5. Don't broadcast that or the gas will "offer to groundshare" and see what they can do then.
  6. SSN presenter actually said something like "Bristol Rovers reinforced their bid for a play off place with a win tonight".
  7. Meanwhile back at Ashton Gate.....
  8. Of the 22 teams then in Div 1 only ten still are. Of the 24 teams In Div 3 (S), four are currently in the Prem and eight others have been in either Div 1 or the Prem.
  9. Thank you Jarman for this on gaschat; "Unlike the rest of you, I went to the Mem today". That says it all.
  10. That is their secret plan to beat City when / if we ever have to go there for a competitive game
  11. Reality has dawned for one gas head (baggins) at least! Afraid this is it chaps. We'll make do with what we have from now till the end of the season. No big shakes, squad looks pretty capable. Yep we only need 4 more wins to be safe. We’ll beat Shrewsbury, Blackburn, Wigan and Scunthorpe and lose to the all the rest. But we’ll stay up FTG! And that's been our goal since we got into L1.
  12. i can remember that there was frequently trouble when City played at Oxford.
  13. That sums up their view completely.
  14. The exact level surely shows financial prudence? Were they really about to overtake us?
  15. How can that be? They are coming for us you know,
  16. Team talk delivered! On BBC East Midlands news they interviewed some Derby fans. The loudest declared:- "Having lost their last few games, Bristol City are there for the taking".
  17. Building a new supermarket for Sainsbury's perhaps?
  18. Come on, admit it. What you mean is SL to buy the Mem, kick out the existing (and undesirable) tenants and move in the U23 side, any non first team rugby games, plus the Women's team.
  19. Just think; if after both legs an ET, the scores are tied between us and Man C, it will go to penalties. If we win the shoot out, gasheads will claim we were lucky and it was ONLY pens. If Man C go through, they'll rejoice at City being thrashed.
  20. Now Rovers have a habit of going out of cup competitions in the early stage(s). They also complain about a lack of proper training facilities......... After Newport County beat Leeds today, I saw an interview with their Manager. He explained how their training centre had a fire earlier this week, but a cup run will finance a new training ground. There you go gas; you "only" need to win a few games and you're sorted!
  21. This seems like a bloke playing championship manager for real. Get a lowly club, improve in all areas season by season, develop the stadium. Develop the commercial side (it couldn't be worse) and progress slowly until you are naturally able to actually buy and afford those elite players. Let's hope he doesn't get bored and swap clubs!
