... could be John Smiths fruit and veg for all I care so long as they pay the money we're after!

Bit of a change in business strategy to move from beer to fruit and veg.

I'm just glad it's not a gambling sponsor

Curious, we're you as adamantly against Thatchers or Blackthorn being a shirt sponsor?

I think JL and SL will be acutely aware of how that will go down with the fans and I would hope don’t go anywhere near there.

Don't think it'd matter. I doubt you and I would start calling it The Huboo Stadium if it got renamed temporarily. We'd still refer to it as Ashton Gate no matter what. Take the money and ignore it.

Good, this means I can start buying shirts again.

    You could anyway.

A real privilege to have seen his first and last games and a few hundred in between.

To have travelled on trains with the team, when he was always willing to talk with us, never refusing autographs for anyone. And after he had retired, always approachable before and after matches in the car park.

A Legend is not enough to describe him. On a train back from Cardiff after a 1-0 win, a current England player, he admitted in front if his teammates that he had a stinker in the previous home game when we lost 1-4 to Sheffield United. That's how big a character he was.

Could you upload a scan of his autograph please?

Yea true I tell my kids about club legends and England legends I show them the sainsburys coin/medal collection I have from 1996 and 1998 and thought it would be nice to have their own collection rather than the stickers and match attax cards they collect currently

I guess, just a current season set only has one year of life in it. Legends set can be sold long term.

Current team would appeal more to the children I guess

    Legends to the older fanbase

When I was a kid I used to listen to my dad tell me about old players, eventually ended up creating a legends team in FIFA.

It's a good learning opportunity for them.

Bit of a sweeping generalisation? Most of their fan base have called out the few idiots who did this.

Similarly, it only takes an idiot or two to throw a coke bottle at an opposition player. Doesn't mean all Bristol City fans are mindless thugs.

Yet Bristol Rovers are all horse punchers.
