Pretty pointless, as it’s only really a few football fans who have adopted this use of the word, while the rest of the population carry on with the original/proper meaning.
The other way around though, sure.
Looks like the poll disagrees with you too.

Journeyman sounds like it should mean played for a lot of teams, but it doesn't.
It means an average, reliable and fairly unremarkable player.
Nope. Disagree.
If someone had only played for two clubs but was "average, reliable and fairly unremarkable", would you call him a journeyman? Where has he journied to exactly, if only having played for two clubs?
First Google results are:
The Wikipedia definition which shows you are using the American definition, not the British. In which case, why aren't you saying "soccer" too? And then the below... which all support my use of the word.
- The greatest football journeymen to play for 10 clubs or more - Dream Team
Nicolas Anelka, Christian Vieri, Rivaldo, Luca Toni, Peter Crouch.
- Football Journeyman: Top 20 Players With Most Number Of Club - Funs And Facts
Some players shift numerous clubs throughout their football careers. They are known as journeymen footballers...

Journeymen: The six players to have played for seven or more Premier League clubs - Andy Cole - 7 clubs - Craig Bellamy - 7 clubs - Wayne Routledge ...

That’s not what journeyman means. Though a lot on OTIB think it does.
If I meant average I'd have said average. Journey means played for a lot of teams. You can be good and play for a lot of teams.

His stats in the championship suggest he was a bit better than ordinary. He’s had a fantastic career I’d say.
Never said he wasn't.
Said he got around a bit.

Shame he ended up being such a journeyman, would've liked him here for longer. From Wikipedia, apparently played more for us than any of the others (just!) though.

Was nice of them to do the damage when we don't have another home game until FEB-9TH. Gives us plenty of time to get it all fixed, probably to a slightly higher spec. and send them the bill for it.
Knobheads just cost their own club a few thousand and gave some Bristol contractors some local work to do.

Why 'From Cardiff'? Slightly ironic after yesterday's result.
Because the guy who posted it was in Cardiff at the time I'd imagine...

If we are going to move on from Bentley at some point in January or the Summer, O'Leary needs experience ready for next season. I don't think he's putting us in a worse position for relegation right now so give him the spot so he can push on next year.
Also felt he could've positioned himself better for the second but... experience. He'll learn from it and better to learnt that in a season where we're unlikely to go up or down.

The carbon footprint in that league must be a disgrace.
I'm missing something here...
Either way they would have to come back to Bristol, if not for another game but to go home.

O'Leary - Needs to gain more experience for when Bentley eventually leaves.

King did it against QPR
O'Dowda against Millwall
Both got booked.

Thought you meant the quarter circles in the corners of the pitch!

To be perfectly clear - There’s no way I’d give him another year at his current wage level.
To be fair, I thought you were advocating to take the option too.
Thought the "Definitely not" was disagreement with the quoted post and then you were saying to take up the option.

When you've got Vyner and Pring at CB to support Kalas up against Mitrovic. You're bound to get ******.
-
Get him out.
Always thought he was crap. Can't get my head around how he's been given so many chances. Hasn't improved since the day he got here.

Did you know that Gianluigi Buffon had played at Ashton Gate?
Was looking back at some old memories and remenber attending this game when I was still in single digits for age and surprised to see that I've seen Buffon play.
Anyone else remember this a bit better than me?
Not many of the England squad made it big.

Get Kalas to launch his throws high then get two of our lads to “lift” Martin up line out style and head it in from 10ft up in the air
That too. Tactical masterclass.

If we're going to hoof it up the pitch we should do it like they do in rugby and hoof it our for a throw by their corner flag, then just mark every player up in the corner to win possession from the throw. Why not eh?

Ref in the Tunisia-Mali game has had a shocker:
They then went and interrupted the Tunisia post-game press conference to try bring them back out to play three more minutes a while later! ... Tunisia told them to bugger off.

Two goalkeepers on the bench?... Could we not have chucked one of the kids we've barely ever heard of before on there?

Where the hell has £40m come from? No chance.
