If we go on like this until the end of the season, we’ll have amassed 46 points away from home and definitely won’t be relegated.
And the bottom 3 are the bottom 3 because they’ve done far less well away.
Yes, the home form is crap, but why are judging our entire season’s performance just on matches at Ashton Gate? The fact is we have a mid-table squad and we are in mid-table. Let‘s at least strive for some balance by assessing all our games, rather than just half of them, when making predictions about the rest of the season.
If our record was reversed and we’d been winning most of our home games and losing most away, the frustration and anger would be much less even though we’d be on exactly the same points!
Might not be a bad thing that we’re mid table but with players and coaching staff feeling under pressure, rather than feeling comfortable that we’re achieving ‘par’ in terms of league position.....

We should stop selling beer at half-time!!!
Hoards of people leaving their seats with around 38 minutes on the clock so that they can go and get their half-time pint. Does not help the atmosphere!!

Exactly….we have a system that makes us competitive. In 5 of 7 games we’ve been exactly that, if not better in some cases. Boro we were poor bar 20 minutes second half. Tonight we allowed Luton to have 3 or 4 spells where they created decent chances at will. We were still able to take a point. We actually looked pretty solid in spells, dealt with Luton’s changes second half, and almost got an undeserved 3 points. Matt Withers on twitter said perversely it was a point earned, which it was because Luton were the better side. I just don’t think we were as bad as many people made out tonight.
Fans expectations of dominating games, hammering the likes of Luton, Preston, Millwall, Blackburn, etc is cloud cuckoo land. We are very much a new team, staring from a low base, and we’ve picked up 9 points from 7 games.
Agree with you 100% that people who think we should be consistently beating the teams you mention are away with the fairies.
However, the bit I’m struggling with is how flat and lacking in energy/tempo we were last night, particularly in the first half.
Surely we should be able to match these teams for work rate and will to win? Cuz I didn’t see that last night, and that concerns me.

We lost it in midfield this evening and failed to pick up second balls or show any indication of changing this, they were more physical and we could quite easily have lost this by 3 or 4
They were more physical AND showed more energy I thought. Not good being second best on both those fronts.

Luton looked more up for it than we did. That’s still tough to swallow.

If we carry on in the same vein performance and results wise at home I can see crowds plummeting, I know it's no guarantee of better results to sack the manager but I'm really beginning to doubt Nigel Pearson is a good fit for our club.
Chris Hughton will be available again soon, maybe we should go for him

Did anyone work out the identity that Pearson was on about during the week? I'm still trying to work it out.. also Sam Bell is a ridiculous sub when trying to see out a game with tomas kalas on the bench
Some of our players actually made tackles today if that helps

But he’s Joey Barton he’s played in a standard Bristol Rovers have never been in. I’m glad the bottom dwellers suck it up. Wouldn’t surprise me if they went non league again

DH clearly told him to wind his neck in at half time. Fair play to the lad, much more tidy in the second half
