  1. To be fair he’s apologised for it. I’m sure most of us have said or written something in the past without thinking about it first.
  2. Hahaha, their fanbase are proper hardcore aren’t they? ? Bike races, European football on TV and now this. I can imagine loads of them shuffling back along Filton Ave once they found out that they could no longer walk straight up to the turnstile and empty the shrapnel out of their piss stinking pockets on to the counter. Shit excuse for such a poor attendance. I think the real reason is that their fans aren’t as great or as loyal as they think they are....
  3. Oh you will. Saturday afternoon trip to St Andrews for the first time since 1994...I’d bet my mortgage that the away following will be way over 2k. After the game quite a few of your fellow Sags will be all over social media proclaiming that the Gas have the best away support in the land... Lies like “we take more than THE SHIT everywhere we go...” and my favourite...”our away support is really speshul, we take 40% of our home support to away games, no one can match that” ....whilst ignoring that the whole ‘away support to home support’ ratio thing only shows how poor the home support is.
  4. The only figures that matter are the end of season average for the whole campaign. To the best of my knowledge they haven’t bettered our away support figures this century and certainly not since 2012. There is no challenge, Gasheads saying they have better away support than us are talking bollocks and the statistics prove this. They will take over 2000 next week but then they’ve only visited St Andrew’s twice in the last 25 years. Like their trips in the cup to places like Molineux the novelty factor will bump up there attendance for this game. Then it’ll be back to the usual 400-500 for the trips to grounds they visit every season.
  5. That new 20k stadium can’t come quick enough ? Seriously though, first home game of the season...that is ******* abysmal.
  6. As I say I’m not an expert but wasn’t the original arena scheme binned because the Council effectively decided they didn’t want to pay for it? (That may not have been the official line of course but that’s what was suggested) This stadium, ‘the Fruit Bowl’ or whatever cringy name they’ll call it, will be funded by outside investment. The Council would love that surely? Im not sure what third party objectors there could be around there? Like I say I think the whole area is up for regeneration.
  7. I’m no expert but it looks like a huge amount has gone on behind the scenes over the last year and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this all go through. I believe the whole area is due for serious redevelopment over the next 10 years. Getting planning for a stadium now should be a walk in the park compared to other areas of the city where people already live. The fact it’s close to Temple Meads must also give it some viability. The Council are obviously on board and IF the Gas have found a few individuals with plenty of cash there’s no reason for this to fail. However, they will never have what we have no matter how much they pretend otherwise. For a club whose fans bang on and on about ‘soul’, ‘character’ and (most of all) ‘history’ their new stadium will have none of that. Yes it will be 100 times better than the Mem but it won’t be like Ashton Gate is to us and our football club. A stadium with soul, character and over a Century of history.
  8. MK Dons are referred to as ‘the franchise’. The reason for this is because they were moved from one City to a different City for financial purposes. Very much like American Football teams hence the ‘franchise’ nickname. Rovers fans appear to label us a franchise because our owner also finances other sporting clubs. I don’t know if the Glazers still own them but are Man Utd also a ‘franchise’? In the bizarre World of a Sag we are a franchise but MK Dons aren’t. Rovers have themselves moved out of Bristol in the past and recently tried to move out of Bristol again. In sporting terms Rovers are more of a franchise than we have ever been.
  9. Mansfield should help them out really. A thank you for that time they forgot their away kit.
  10. Ahh that’ll be the football club that wore the ‘unique quarterz” a decade before the Gas did...
  11. I’ve now got the music from the Blue Oyster Bar stuck in my head ?
  12. Ahahahahahahahaha...that can’t be true? Did someone actually say that?
  13. They’ve always done what they do best...sit in the shadows and sneer at City for having the ambition to aim for the top. Gasheads are proud to say “yeah but, we know what we are, we’re shit” every time you have a debate with one about Bristol football. They say it as if there’s something wrong with US for wanting to be better than that. Zero ambition from the club and fans, that’s one of the reasons no one with any serious money has ever wanted to invest in them.
  14. Indeed. Remember, they’re always the victim...it’s never their fault. They never cheat..... Grotty little club.
  15. I didn’t hear this Talksport exchange however I read the same claims regularly on Social Media from Bullshit spouting Sagheads. The actual statistics don’t back up their claims and never have done. I don’t know the last time they averaged more than us away from home but they haven’t done so this century. You could suggest smaller allocations at smaller grounds for that....but they don’t sell out those smaller allocations, so that excuse doesn't work. It amazes me that our own fans slag us off for ‘only’ taking 1800 to WBA for a Sky televised Tuesday night match yet those deluded idiots think 600 to Shrewsbury on a Saturday is acceptable and still tell anyone who’ll listen that they always travel in HUGE numbers ?
  16. The old ‘percentage of away support against home attendances’ chestnut again.... When will the deluded little bastards realise that calculation only shows how shit their home support is? FFS they only averaged about 600 for away games last season ?, they’re not exactly the Leeds Utd of L1. Plymouth travel much further distances and still average more on the road than they do...and those muppets were relegated. They rarely sell out any of their away allocations. What exactly is it that makes them think they’ve got amazing support away from home?
  17. Good question. I can’t see any evidence that Lansdown is involved. Of course it only takes one paranoid idiot to say it and soon they all become convinced.
  18. They can cry and stamp their feet/hooves as much as they like but it was only a couple of years ago that they were desperately trying to move OUT of Bristol (again). I never see anyone wearing sag shirts in public anyway so I don’t know why they get so pissy about the lack of sag shirts in some poxy Council video?
  19. No BJs for Swansea fans in ‘the welly’ tonight then....
