  1. Yeah AND they've won the European Cup twice mind, though most people don't know this, it's hardly ever been mentioned.
  2. Strange to hear "We're Nottingham Forest We'll sing on our own" and "Is this a library", yet the City singing has been coming over loud and clear throughout on Sky. Hadn't really even heard Forest until then. Bizarre acoustics at Ashton Gate.
  3. Yes, this! Clear Head, brewed just moments from Ashton Gate and apparently named by the Independent as the "Best British Alcohol Free Beer for 2021".
  4. Is there really anything that could make a modern day professional footballer 'fall out of love with football'? Well yes, it seems signing for Bristol Rovers would do it. Here's Josh Barrett. It's turned out OK though for poor Josh as he's signed for the mighty Kings Lynn, where life's not quite so grim and desperate. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/josh-barrett-bristol-rovers-national-6058404

Well of course. Come on, you of all people know that 'opposing prejudice of all kinds' is not a political thing. There were loads of us 2Tone/ska lads at football and we've spent a lifetime opposing racism, as well as misogyny and class discrimination. Black lives matter *as well* is, pretty f cking obviously, the point. Ask Suggs, Buster Bloodvessel, Terry Hall, Neville Staple... etc
  6. Sorry yes BT. Grudging praise of Bristol, genuine excitement at Quins tries. That's what I'm hearing anyway
  7. Be nice if the Sky commentators made an effort at least to appear impartial. They are desparate for a Harlequins victory and making little attempt to conceal their bias!
  8. I read one theory that the outage was caused by Facebook installing a mind control device. ? I can reassure everyone there is no mind control device. Everything is fine and all is calm. Go back to your homes. There is no mind control device. Everything is fine and all is calm. Go back to your homes....
  9. Spot on. Many Rovers fans live in a world of sanctimony, despite the endless, repeated and ever-growing list of hooligan episodes from their own fucktards.
  10. I imagine so, probably a social catch up. And none of my business either way!
  11. Who was, intreaguingly, spotted having dinner and a cosy chat with Richard Gould in Clifton on Wednesday evening. Though not at the Avon Gorge Hotel, it should be noted.
  12. To be honest, I was a worried some may be offended by the term 'fucktards', so I decided best not to use it in the end
  13. Well I wouldn't stay in Shoreditch if I were you. It sounds like an unpleasant place frequented by bigots, bullies and shallow self-obsessed ********.
  14. I believe in this context the correct noun is 'tinpottery'
  15. I would love to believe that the role of Scrumpy is a full time permanent salaried position, an employee who could be furloughed, rather than a mate of the tea lady doing us a favour in return for a half time pasty and a cup of Bovril. Yes, I am choosing to believe that is true, the world just seems better that way.
  16. He'll be one of the Lockleaze crew then. The 'bruvvers'. Or a Meader.
  17. Oh shit, I hadn't thought of that. They really are coming for us aren't they?
  18. Sounds like a giant killing might be on the cards this evening. And no surprise, if you disrespect the lower league sides like that by playing your youth team, they're gonna raise their game.
  19. This chap drove past me in Bristol today, and what with the blue and white livery on his van, I got to wondering which football team he supports. I just hope, I really hope....well, you know. Does anyone here happen to know 'Mr Gapper'?
  20. Being for the benefit of Mr Kite. I wonder if he's related to Phil. I do hope so.
  21. @Tre Bong please look here: https://www.wetalkclub.com/ Founded in Bristol a couple of years ago, it's spread all around the UK and beyond. "Talk Club is a Male Mental Fitness Movement. It’s a talking and listening club for men. It’s a support network for ways to keep mentally fit. It’s a community of men looking after each other. It’s here to remind all men that they are not alone, that other men feel exactly the same way they do, and if we share our feelings we can become mentally strong. Together we can change the way we look after our mental health and end suicide."
  22. Shots fired. Go on Nige, smack 'im!
