  1. But would he have kept us up and built for the future? If we wanted a clown we could have signed George Ferguson.

Nope, not a chance.....the entire downbeat approach increased the problems already existing at the club. O Drosscoll did NOT create all the problems here. His negativity was one of the major issues.

Another on of the numerous problems would appear to be SC whose knuckle headed honesty and misplaced optimism got on an awful lot of city fans tits....

Wont disagree with that, but we keep changing managers with the same effect. Cotterills record is not bad...until he came here, like McInnes & O Drosscoll before him...

Of course it is, but it still gets up my nose when people judge a manager by his shouting and arm waving.

It might do, but inspiring the team regardless of method is key. And O Drosscoll absolutely failed in all aspects to motivate. It can be fairly argued that Cotterill, McInnes, Millen, Tinnion and in Johnson & Wilson's latter days they failed to motivate either. O Drosscolls entire demeanor failed to motivate, inspire or lead. The board should have taken action earlier.

Indeed the board needs to make damn sure they pick the right man.  and also to be fair the last three including Cotterill have had decent records prior to arriving here. Would Ferguson, Wenger, Moyes or Mourinho have got any better results? They would have been less negative at least...

  2. F  uck ,why do i feel the need to defend SOD.

May be because despite the terrible results under him I am sure he would have got us where we want to be in time. His problem was that the board who hired him,did n't actually like him ( evidently they thought he was a 'cheeky chappy' ) he obviously  changed his personality overnight.

No one wanted to hear the truth when he spoke and if he lacked charisma and diplomacy at least he knew something about football and how to get teams promoted from this division.

He was ,iMHO ,let down by the board who told him to reduce the wage bill and left him high and dry when he needed their support.

i am really fed up with all this.

The bloke was one of the numerous problems here at the Gate. I have no sympathy for him, his dour personality and downbeat negativity got on an awful lot of city fans tits.....

  3. Isn't Keith Burt supposed to be in charge of that? And if he has no say in these transfers why is he here? What a waste of money.

As I say, we had overage players brought in under SOD. Can't say I was thrilled when I saw Shorey playing back then.

Is El-Abd the problem here today though? I'd like a considered opinion from someone there as to why we are plywood flimsy befoire their attacks and why we haven't got a decent shot in.

Any chance the midfield is the problem allowing the defence to be near constantly be over run?

  4. THAT is what you call a win a 3 goal to one win away at a top three side in this division. One most of us didn't expect, least of all Leyton Orient.

We scored first, the scorer scored on his first attempt, we built on it, scored a second. Unfortunately we conceded one, just before half time.

But we still went on and added a third, one the scorer put in the right goal, his second in two games.

Game over, well done lads. 21 points to safety,

Now lets kick on and beat Tranmere, Saturday.

Calls for a cider or two....

Well done to all of um....

  5. I do agree we need to win games.

This is exactly why we need to go for it at home more unlike the Coventry game.

Which means stopping conceding soft/stupid/crazy goals (Specially own goals) early doors (or late on), the strikers actually converting more than one of the chances they get in most games, and to actually compete for more than 45 minutes..

Jury out on those three critical factors.

  6. Considering the start, and yet again leaking a soft goal early on, a  point is a decent enough result away from home.

Trouble is, were running out of games to save ourselves. Were gonna need at least 23 points, and hope that one or more of our rivals **** up.

Thats not looking like happening. We need to start winning at the lesser lights of the league...

Will it happen....really ant seeing positive vibes..

At least that miserable, cheerless**** O Drosscoll is no longer giving the post match interview and banging on about stupid questions, not looking a league tables, and sucking in breath before coming out with more bollocks.
