  1. well having retired with breathing difficulties at Wimbledon she is undefeated in 2 slams, where as Morgan was defeated by a HTV weather presenter, no contest really
  2. Classy lady, incredible stuff. Looks like she is going to be a proper British winner rather than the plucky loser we herald all the time. Lets wait for the gutter press and Piers Morgan get stuck into her when she fails to win the next title. I real hope the British public get behind her. Both these ladies have kept me entertained tonight, the pace an power of the tennis on show was great something you tend to see generally when the Williams Sisters are on court. These two could dominate for the next decade,
  3. Colchester are going to have the oldest team in the world judging by that!
  4. Benny Lennartson truely did have a bag of shite team to inherit, worst still he was not hired as a manager, at the very least he gave lots of youngsters their chance. IMHO he should have stayed. I would never compare him with any manager other than Cooper, who was kept on where as Benny was dumped. I would now expect to be seeing something that resembled a Pearson team i.e. hard to beat, unfortunately we are not getting that and with nearly 2.5 seasons ability to create absolutely nothing, then being hard to beat is not going to help if you cant score and have a a soft underbelly. I am, all for giving people time, but Pearson has had his preseason, and the same mistakes are being made, and they are basic footballing mistakes, that is what worries me. It maybe it his players or someone else's his job is to manage and get coaches to deliver messages and coaching from his mantra, if the basics are not getting through what hope does he have. yes some of them are not his players, but he should be able to get the message and at least a little bit improvement in terms of team organisation by now. Hey ho!
  5. I think that's' md done vping I am paying to be entertained. No urgency, lots of diving and choosing the wrong option, if counter attacking (poorly) and diving around is what is being coached, then I have zero interest, appalling. Its like watching Johnson or Holden's teams but with added flair Grealish type tumbling. while following thou shall not create or shoot doctrine
  6. 11 different players, says it runs through the whole club, not just the first 11. Got to be a mental issue which needs sorting.
  7. well they mentioned looking at the thigh and calf in the commentary, but who knows, the fact he went off so quickly would suggest it quite possibly is the same injury.. Who knows
  8. Aye, the OP just said 2 midfielders out injured, and didn't mention return dates so I was just guessing it was O'Dowda as I can't think of anyone else injured during the season
  9. I think you missed where I said I was betting, not that I was in the know. Pearson says Nagy came to him privately. Add to that the way it was announced, it all seems very odd. But I guess people can see it any way they want. It just seems very a very unprofessional way to announce someone wants to leave, considering all we hear from Pearson is how professional he is.
  10. Depends, Did Nagy go to him privately to say he wanted to leave but wanted it kept private, or did he go to Pearson privately and say let people know I want to leave. I am betting option 1, but even if it was option 2 you would have thought it would have been controlled through the club media department, rather than blurted out in a answer to a question about a current Bristol city player. So I think option 1 was the reality. Doesn't sit easy with me and I doubt if it is the case that it was option 1 that team members can trust the manager when they approach him privately. Screams of throwing someone under a bus to me.
  11. good the players can trust the manager to keep something private... private. Bad form from Pearson, how do other players trust him now?

Exactly this. I am sure Johnson bought him for the right position. He played him there the first few games. Then the coaches got their hands on him!

Agree. But thats not his fault, that is the coaches. When played in the correct position doing what he does best he has looked fantastic. Unfortunately our managers/coaches seem to think they know his best position!

Dsagree to an extent, he is a sitter a great reader of the game who plugs holes that creative players try to pass through, what I do agree with is he used his pace and his athletic ability to do it. He can pass the ball around effectively to team mates, although does not have that raking ball that people may associate with the position he plays in. For me he is a deep lying breaker up of play type player who spring the counter attack very quickly, plugs the hole, feeds the likes of a bakinson, who gets the ball forward quickly. I think (but I was never 100% sure) this is the game Johnson wanted to play but never really got it working. Unfortunately I don't see this type of player working in a Pearson team, I don't think it's the football he wants to play.

For me his assetts are 1. A very good engine 2. The ability to position himself himself defensively.. one of those players that didn't need to run about all over the place making tackles he had tbe ability to plug holes and make interceptions through intelligent positional sense and very quick initial burst of pace. Personally I think he is massively undervalued and brings something to the team many don't see, that said I think his particular talents are better suited to European football. But if used properly and using his strengths I think he would and should of been a great player for us. Using him on the wing or as an attacking midfielder just seems plain ignorant on part of the managers and coaches.

Feel sorry for the guy, joins under Johnson, covid hits, can't really get the chance to settle or do anything in his new home due to lockdown, has a child here, again no travel to see family with new child, Johnson goes Holden in, Holden out Pearson in. And a few injuries to boot. What a shit life experience for the guy. He will go with my best wishes, it looks like fate transpired against the poor bugger. I really liked him as a player. All the best Adam.
  17. King and James bring so much experience, calm and confidence to the midfield, dominating much of it, its a great holding area that our attacking players can grow confidence from, he is hoping it stays that way.
  18. Aye looks like it judging by the time penalty and ex drivers commentary. Didn't really matter though did it. He finished first.
  19. Karma is a bitch, how many accidents has verstappen caused inthe past because of his aggressive unpredictable driving. He has improved it has to be said but what goes around comes around. Glad he is okay, it would have been better watching a full race, but judging how Hamilton's car reacted to turbulent air I'm not sure he would have taken him.
