I find it astonishing that a man who’s been so successful continues to make the same mistakes over and over when it comes to the football club, the penny never seems to drop, it’s almost like he’s ego won’t let him change.

I think he desperately wants success. However he won't relinquish control & that's what's held us back.

He should have looked a BCFC like a business acquisition where he was buying into a sector where he had no knowledge.  The smart thing to do would be to hire the best people you can afford to run the club & then get out of the way & let them get on with it.

  2. When I 1st started taking my lad, I was in the old Williams St. I had a ST & I bought him tickets for a few games.  He loved it, so I got him a ST the following season, he was about 6, & I'm pretty sure his ST was actually free then. In fairness he's had a ST even since.

As he's at Uni a ST just about works out as he watches when he can.

Not sure you can do much about no shows. The reality is, sell outs aren't that common, it's not like we're Arsenal with a huge waiting list, but the club should have a facility to aid ST'S being recycled if the ticket holder can't go.

    They are ish

But even really good players like Stones make mistakes.

I actually think our issue is movement (lack of) rather than passing ability. When there is talk of players being brave, to me that's helping a team mate who is in a tight spot by making yourself available for the pass. The problem is, it's a vicious circle, no one wants to give the ball away in a bad area, so the easy option is to not show for the pass. That then gives fewer options to the player with the ball.  Hopefully that is an area that the players can get more comfortable over time.

I really don't see on our budget we're going to get better ball playing centre backs than the ones we have.

  4. Dickie, Atkinson & Vyner are all comfortable on the ball. Zak has the ability to pass really well but does throw loose ones in too often as well.

All teams playing out from the back get caught. I couldn't believe Ipswich kept doing it against us. You can argue they won so it worked, but it worked because we didn't punish them when we robbed the ball deep in their half.

Agreed, I can't believe it hasn't been a month yet. Feels like forever

Because we lack goals, we miss someone like Sykes more than say Rob A (because we're currently well-stocked at Centre Back).

You wonder if Sykes could play the role that Knight is doing (similar energy, more attacking prowess) & allow Knight a more traditional midfield role.

What clearly doesn’t help on threads like this is whenever Max makes a decent save (and it happens on in game threads) you get people saying “can’t believe people don’t rate Max” and then when he makes an error it’s “Max is crap”.

Replace the name "Max" with virtually any other player in the squad & you're describing a lot of the forum content really.

  7. It wasn't that long ago that Zak wasn't championship standard & even more recently Conway needed a loan in league 1.

What does the phrase even mean? If so many aren't at the standard needed why are we so middling & not so relegation threatened?

They were really good mate, but to be fair I think a lot of it was that the crowd were so massively into it they couldn't really go wrong.

Glad you enjoyed it! Played their debut album to death, absolutely loved them, but the live experience wasn't great.  Weirdly, for a festival, the sound quality was good, the likes of Elastic & Weller were amazing.

It was incredible mate.Best gig I have ever been to by an absolute mile.

Really, the Roses are probably the most disappointing live act I've ever seen (at The Feile in Cork, early 90's).  Funnily enough Massive Attack played that festival as well & were brilliant (I think, I'd had a lot of Guiness by then).

  10. I take little notice of the various teams of the week. In Twine's case (as is often) a goal gets them noticed hence they get it.

I thought it was a very decent debut, could / should have had another goal & offers something a bit different to the others. However without that goal he wouldn't be in the team of the week.

My only concern is that I hope he doesn't block Mehmeti, who for me, has been looking much better in the recent games.
