I look at is as its in our own hands due to the other teams all playing each other. So that's why I consider it to be a fantastic opportunity.

It's anything other than "in our own hands" really.   The teams that occupy the top 6 places, it's in their hands. We could have a really strong end to the season, but unless a no. of other teams fall back majorly, we won't get top 6.

But he's potentially got a bigger (mental) challenge ahead - I suspect that, when fit, Pring starts. How will Haydon react to that?

This may be an area where LM/NP have different approaches. Under Nige, if you got in & played well, you tended to hold the shirt irrespective of a)your age/experience & b) who you replaced.

Pring has played loads of minutes so it would make sense to me, even if he's fit, to have him on the bench tomorrow & see how HR does against a different type of opponent.

It’s the comparison of power and pace versus technical and subtlety isn’t it?

That's exactly how I see it, & my gut feel is that LM prefers the latter as it gives greater "control".

Just happy to have 2 decent options for either full back position really. Was really impressed with McC's cut back for the 3rd goal. It feels like we often get into good positions but rarely play the right final pass so to see that was great.

    Great times under GJ.

It was an extraordinary season & absolutely built on team work & determination over anything else. I'm convinced that had McCombe been fit & Orr not got crocked, we'd have beat Hull in the final.

To be fair, his 'belief' was religious. Not just a soundbite to subdue the masses.

I loved his philosophy on luck. If a journo suggested we were unlucky, Basso would always strongly refute it & say you can't blame things on luck as it suggests your actions don't determine the outcome.

I've no time for organised religion but Basso had a fantastic attitude which was clearly steeped in his faith.  When he saved the penalty from Darius Henderson, heck, even i almost believed in a higher power!

Anyone who ever wonders why Wilson was rightly sacked afterwards should be made to watch this game every week until they get it.

It was as if no-one told the players it was a big match. Before the game I was chatting to some BHA fans, they just assumed we'd win easily but they thought it would give their campaign for a new stadium a bit of publicity!

Sat for hours in traffic on the M4 afterwards didn't help the mood.

    I know.

I was explaining to a mate (Brighton fan, in his 30s) about the year we got to the playoff final, in 2008 & he said he was still at school then..

Despite being at Twerton for "that game", the Brighton final remains my most depressing experience as a City fan (& to be fair, its had a lot or challengers over the years!).

I find it astonishing that a man who’s been so successful continues to make the same mistakes over and over when it comes to the football club, the penny never seems to drop, it’s almost like he’s ego won’t let him change.

I think he desperately wants success. However he won't relinquish control & that's what's held us back.

He should have looked a BCFC like a business acquisition where he was buying into a sector where he had no knowledge.  The smart thing to do would be to hire the best people you can afford to run the club & then get out of the way & let them get on with it.

  9. When I 1st started taking my lad, I was in the old Williams St. I had a ST & I bought him tickets for a few games.  He loved it, so I got him a ST the following season, he was about 6, & I'm pretty sure his ST was actually free then. In fairness he's had a ST even since.

As he's at Uni a ST just about works out as he watches when he can.

Not sure you can do much about no shows. The reality is, sell outs aren't that common, it's not like we're Arsenal with a huge waiting list, but the club should have a facility to aid ST'S being recycled if the ticket holder can't go.

    They are ish

But even really good players like Stones make mistakes.

I actually think our issue is movement (lack of) rather than passing ability. When there is talk of players being brave, to me that's helping a team mate who is in a tight spot by making yourself available for the pass. The problem is, it's a vicious circle, no one wants to give the ball away in a bad area, so the easy option is to not show for the pass. That then gives fewer options to the player with the ball.  Hopefully that is an area that the players can get more comfortable over time.

I really don't see on our budget we're going to get better ball playing centre backs than the ones we have.
