Manning and Tinnion must have conflicting views on the ability of our academy players as we’ve had Mebude wasting a space on the bench for the last couple of months

Much as I’m unconvinced that Liam is a man who trusts youth, or brings them through, based on the collective evidence of three years in management, I think we can now all safely state that Mebude was only on the bench as there were contract clauses in place in the loan agreement that meant we were penalised if he wasn’t in matchday squads. I don’t think his presence is here or there when it comes to academy players - it was more that it would have cost us £££ if we had left him out and we could afford, with 9 subs, to have him on the bench without impacting overall tactics.

Jesus, that feels a bit extreme. I know Tinnion blocked @Davefevs recently and in a way I kind of got it as Dave has been critical (not abusive) and Tinnion has a skin as thin as tracing paper.

But Paul Binning is, for me, someone who is more often on the side of the club than not. Good read, decent bloke but errs more to establishment than rebellion. Blocking him is just odd.

If he blocks Patch Warner and Math Withers next then he’s having a full on breakdown.

The total lack of professionalism or reading of the room is shocking. The biggest concern about Tinnion is he simply can’t be trusted either to keep his month shut or to make comment when simply not needed.
The disclosure of transfer fees for players on local radio, when the fees were undisclosed is completely unprofessional. I do wonder if these type of actions will impact us in future transfer negotiations

It will. In terms of transfers, we’re dealing with multi million pound organisations and most clubs (just not ours) will have sufficient professional expertise to reflect that.

If you know you’re negotiating with Bristol City, you’d be looking who you’re dealing with and how best you can get the upper hand. And unless Tinnion is pulling some real Keyser Soze shit, you know you’re dealing with someone who can’t keep his mouth shut and has the mental dexterity of a six year old.

Put it this way. The head coach is giving off desperation vibes for our current loan signing which puts us in a weak negotiating position with Burnley. Add Tinnion to the mix and there’s every chance Scott Twine goes for a similar price to Bellingham.

I'm usually a Manning optimist but on the back of this performance, it would be refreshing for him to come out and take some of the responsibility.

It's not all on the players and he's got his tactics wrong today.

    Don't think he will though.

I think he’s likely to major on the Twine goal being disallowed and frame it as a different game if that stands, stating he thinks the decision was wrong. There will then be a bit about behaviours and being too emotional after conceding the second which led to the third.

    Feel free to bookmark.

    Essex 8 down now

It looks as if a 12 point deduction will be on the way.

    Oh Dear.

Now All Out for 156 = 20 points reduction.

Tbf as I said earlier you could barely see the track. With us at 15-2 now and 30 plus overs left this could be 15-18 wickets day one. I’d imagine it’ll be reported but it seemed obvious from the moment I put the stream on.

  6. Top pro. Obviously couldn’t contribute as much on the pitch as he could have earlier in his career but never let us down effort wise and generally played well (odd centre half games excepted - although some of those were good).

Real impact though was off the pitch. Players like Scott, Conway spoke glowingly of him, and with both King and Weimann going (and probably James) it’s a big loss in the dressing room. From his video, clearly not staying as a coach which seems a real shame in view of that.

    All the best Kingy.

It wasn't a DD payment it came off the card i used for the season ticket, anyway apparently they will put it back within 3-5 days, still a bit concerning though because i'm normally quite careful with this sort of thing which is how i noted the payment as soon as it came out yesterday also i've never received any sort of email from them about the set-up, 30 day cooling or the cancellation i made this morning !

Even worse then if it’s not a DD - it’s an EPA (Enduring Payment Authority). At least with a DD people could see it being set up but on an EPA you don’t know it’s there until it’s taken so fair play for checking the account.

  8. I think whenever you buy tickets on the website then a pop up appears asking if you’d like to save x amount. I’d guess you’ve clicked that by mistake and the club autofill your details? I’d say the popup itself doesn’t give sufficient details to allow a commitment to be made so if that’s all you have clicked then setting up a DD and subscription doesn’t seem in line with standard practice….

He seems knackered! Maybe needs a holiday. And I think he said his family finally moving to Bristol which must be a relief (or not!)

The theme of the week seems to be the reference: have to tweak [your own philosophies] and understand the culture and expectations of the club.

Amazingly, the journos didn't pounce on that comment.

Yeah that was (other than asking Scott out on a date) was the key thing for me but I think it’s been done to death this week!

The Twine bit I do think he’s over egging - notably the RB journo led into the question with “I know you don’t give much away” - he couldn’t be more clear he wanted Twine even before this presser if he’d had one of those “Golf Sale” sandwich boards on! Scott wasn’t terrific against Watford (IIRC 45% pass completion) and although excellent against Rotherham, he has been largely peripheral. Every time Liams interviewed at the moment though if I’m Burnley I’m shoving another couple of 100k on the price! Fine if he wants him but it’s not exactly negotiating 101…!!!

Very similar.  DMd you mine.  You might chuckle at one bit!

Almost exactly the same. We definitely need the rota next season! (And I think I did..!)
