A decent idea. However, the other side of the coin is that we would probably get bored watching England play the same opposition over and over again, e.g. Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Holland etc.. This could have a detrimental effect upon the times we then meet them in major tournaments, as both sides would know each other inside out.

He mentioned the "patience" of the fanbase. He is absolutely right, the fans have been patient (bar one or two games) during NP's tenure. This patience has come about however due to the transparency of the team around him, and of course himself. Most of us understand the difficult situation he inherited, and have witnessed how he has addressed the issues concerned. As TTT says, there is no bullshit from this man, he says it as it is, and tells us what we NEED to hear, rather than what we WANT to hear. He is not one for going overboard when things are going right, and doesn't get too distressed when things are not going to plan. The sort of boss most of us would choose, if a choice existed. We are definitely stronger mentally as a side, probably the strongest since Cotts' double winning side. I'm looking forward to next season, I think we might surprise a few sides.

Took the Mrs to Rassasy on Friday night. Very impressed to be honest, Chicken Madras was exceptional. I think we will be frequenting there quite a bit in the future.

Some managers seem to have obsessions with certain players. Graham Taylor with Geoff Thomas and Carlton Palmer, for instance. No wonder England were (mainly) crap under his tenure.

Exactly this, IMHO ! Trophies (and stints in the PL) from years ago do not relate to where a club stands today. Swindon were in the PL for one season in the early 1990's, does that make them a bigger club than us, of course not ! Same with Wigan's FA Cup win.
