  1. I remember thinking the same at the time. He was different class. Shame it didn’t work out that way.
  2. Just watched the Quest highlights. Included quite a bit of analysis on the match as well: they agreed we played well and that we should have a had a penalty; they also thought that we should have had someone on the post at the corner for QPR’s winner. A few other things I noticed which I didn’t when watching it live on red button: When King was booked for dissent you can see from his gestures that his complaint was that we had not given the Scott penalty at the other end; Austin appeared to recognise Pring’s great challenge on him (that led to the corner that they scored from) - so not all bad from him!; O’Dowda did not put in any challenge on the guy who scored; it was a great header though - really tight angle.
  3. It was precisely this. There was no suggestion that Bentley had broken any rules. Nigel indicated that he didn’t think Bentley had been at his best recently. The point he was making is that no player is undroppable, even if he is the captain. Same rule for everyone.
  4. Good effort lads. Deserved more. Let’s hope 2022 is better for us. Happy New Year everyone.
  5. Funny - I was about the say the same thing! And I wasn’t ever expecting to say that!
  6. Surprised it has taken this long for Matty James to be captain.
  7. I’ve always thought we’d be ok this season given the form of others and Derby’s points deduction. Fingers crossed! At the other end of the table, Blackburn are on fire. Six consecutive wins since their draw with us. Boro doing well too.
  8. Presumably the finances also came into the decision regarding the removal of both Simpson and Downing; two more off the future wage bill.
  9. Saw this on Millwall. Looks to me that they are punching above their weight given their position in the Championship.
  10. I think it is Walsh. I also have a vague recollection that he played centrally occasionally for us.
  11. An easy win even without Gerry Gow! Only one player I didn’t recall - Joe Durrell.
  12. I’ve noticed that Pearson has said in a number of interviews that, to manage expectations, City need to be open and transparent as to ‘where we are’. So releasing this now would be aligned to that sentiment.
  13. Agree. For me it is about mental resilience. For a full 46 game relentless Championship season.
