  1. Surprised it has taken this long for Matty James to be captain.
  2. I’ve always thought we’d be ok this season given the form of others and Derby’s points deduction. Fingers crossed! At the other end of the table, Blackburn are on fire. Six consecutive wins since their draw with us. Boro doing well too.
  3. Presumably the finances also came into the decision regarding the removal of both Simpson and Downing; two more off the future wage bill.
  4. Saw this on Millwall. Looks to me that they are punching above their weight given their position in the Championship.
  5. I think it is Walsh. I also have a vague recollection that he played centrally occasionally for us.
  6. An easy win even without Gerry Gow! Only one player I didn’t recall - Joe Durrell.
  7. I’ve noticed that Pearson has said in a number of interviews that, to manage expectations, City need to be open and transparent as to ‘where we are’. So releasing this now would be aligned to that sentiment.
  8. Agree. For me it is about mental resilience. For a full 46 game relentless Championship season.
  9. It got a mention including a clip of LJ wheeling the ball boy around when Korey scored!
  10. Hattrick for Nketiah - penny for LJ’s thoughts
  11. Nketiah again. If only the loan had come off!
  12. Had to be Nketiah didn’t it!
  13. Agree. LJ has another chance to do it all again tonight of course - Q Final v Arsenal.
  14. The Wolves league match had - and has - no bearing on my enjoyment of the Man Utd Q final. And, unlike the Man Utd match, I won’t remember the Wolves match for the rest of my life! In fact, I’d forgotten about it until you brought it up!
  15. Agree. I fall into that camp. I didn’t go on Saturday either due to the Omicron risks and not wanting to risk elderly family. The rates of Omicron in London are even higher so I won’t be risking train travel and a match there. Shame as Fulham is my favourite away day. Hopefully the eventual data on Omicron in the New Year turns out to be more positive though - especially re boosters.
  16. It had everything that match. A Quarter Final. A great atmosphere. Man U playing their stars. Jose Mourinho. Bryan’s goal - a thing of beauty and one of my favourites ever: great move; great pass by Pack and a great strike. A last minute winner, including a sublime pass from an ex Rovers’ favourite (Matty Taylor) enabling a loyal skipper (Korey) to score - and he didn’t get many. And it was the start of my Christmas holiday that year! Brilliant!
  17. Thought he looked fine for a 58 year old. Excellent interview. Thought he spoke well on covid too - you could put him alongside Whitty and Vallance at a press conference!
  18. Is she for real? Looks like a robot from a 1970s horror movie. Hope her batteries run out quickly.
  19. We’ve just been featured on the BBC News at Six on the subject of vaccine passports. Interview with Mark Kelly in the ground etc.
  20. Same thing - Govt are banking on the booster keeping it a mild impact for the majority of people however vulnerable they are. (And I was replying to someone who was saying there will be a lockdown - hence my reply of hopefully not)
  21. Hopefully not a lockdown, but clearly it will all depend on how well the boosters perform against Omicron.
  22. Ignoring Plan B for a minute, given the rate at which Omicron is spreading, there’s got to be a high likelihood that some of City’s matches will end up being postponed in the near future given how players mix together. Matches are already being called off elsewhere of course. Plus more fans will be isolating and will miss matches. So showing vaccine passports may be the least of our worries re match attendance.
