I think this is the way to go, traditional is out dated. Claret and blue at home to celebrate beating West Ham. Red and white stripes, away, to commemorate demolishing Southampton by two, maybe three goals. Blue and white third kit with the dates of the Leicester win and narrow defeat at Ipswich embroidered into them.
purple and lime tracksuits with celebrating BT image across the back.

Job done, over to you Jon and I look forward to seeing the finished effort.

Good, but you missed a variation on the blue and white third kit to commemorate City’s 1-0 FA Cup final defeat to Man Utd in 1909.

  2. It will be red and white, I don’t wear football shirts, so it doesn’t really bother me, but it would be nice if the next kit had just a bit of imagination to make it different

SL take note.  You have to speculate to accumulate.

…and buy the correct players, not wild punts on players who will never be  Championship standard .

  4. Does anyone know how Evander Holyfield became a Plymouth supporter?

On a different note HMS Bellerophon, which you mentioned, has an interesting history. The logbooks have survived and give an insight into life on board in the 1800s. There were several ex slaves on board who had escaped from slavery by swimming to the ship. In those days anyone who put one foot onboard one of His Majesty’s ships instantly became a free man. One of the ex slaves was a white American who had been captured whilst sailing off the coast of Africa. The logbooks show a level of meritocracy that didn’t exist outside of the navy. No mere sailor could rise to become an officer but they could rise to the top jobs below officer class. For example, black ex slaves became “top men”. This was one of the most difficult and dangerous jobs as they had to climb to to top of the masts in all weathers, storm or no storm, to manage the sails

Enough of the history - City to win 2-0

All sounds a bit Big Brother to me ( George Orwell not the vacuous game show)

Certain irony that our most prolific poster is requesting a restriction on the number of posts for new accounts.

At a certain level “Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear” sounds fine in a free society. However, if you give free speech to racism, terrorism etc it’s a dangerous path to follow. At a different level, is it acceptable to allow posters on the forum to insult others because of their differing views? You could say the insult is telling them what they don’t want to hear, but……

  6. I’m not sure how old @Never to the dark side is, but if he’s of a certain age he’ll remember the days when British Railways used to run football specials to matches. I went on one to Plymouth. These were good fun as everyone on board was a supporter, though I was a bit too young to embrace the finer aspects of the trip. Unfortunately, the hooligan element got involved with some of these specials across the country and wrecked the carriages, though not City ones, resulting in them being cancelled. It would be great if they came back but there’s no hope of this as there’s no spare capacity. Perhaps during an international break we could all take over a train from Temple Meads to Sea Mills to watch Manor Farm

Good to hear Nigel Pearson in a good mood, having a laugh & punditrying🤔, very nicely. Shame we never experienced him in this looser, well humoured mood. He looks well!👍

Someone on the Leicester forum wants him back. One of the comments was “mass clear out required, total rebuild”. I’ve heard that before somewhere

  8. Roberts played in his natural position today and it showed. Playing him on the left side of a back three allows Pring to play as a wing back which adds a bit of extra defensive cover and extra attacking bite in midfield

  9. He was good today but would people be so excited if he wasn’t Scott Twine? His decision making in the box was a bit slow and off the pace, but, to be expected as he hasn’t played for a while. The true test will be if he plays regularly till the end of the season. If he plays well, and Burnley want to sell him, the crunch will be the fee, which was £4.5m in January. As City’s original target, Finn Azaz went for “only” £2.5m would City pay £4.5 for Twine? Or would Burnley reduce the fee? Or would Burnley, if relegated, decide to keep him as he’s a good Championship player?

Do other forums have such constant moaning about everything?

There are few moans on the Rovers’ forum as everything is wonderful. New South Stand, other ground developments on the way, Premier League football in 5 years and, of course, the best fans in the country that are loved by every other team they play.

This has given me a fantastic money making idea. I’m going to buy some of these tee shirts from Peacocks for £5.20. Then I’ll write “Frank” (my middle name) on them in felt tip and sell them for £35, giving me a quick £29.80 profit. OTIB members can have a 5% discount. Just PM me

To be fair, technically (or Tecknikally) correct. When you wrote that it was the present but I read it in the future from when it was scribed. But now my reading it is also in the past so the phrase exists in all three elements of time.

    Deep.

I’m a believer in the multiverse theory basically because, if correct, there must be at least one universe where Bristol City has had a long history of being a successful team. In this universe I haven’t wasted a lot of my life watching awful football. In many of these universes @Superjack , @Silvio Dante and myself don’t exist so Super Jack didn’t post anything about the future, Silvio Dante didm’t reply and I didn’t read anything

(sorry for the rambling but it is an international break)

  13. Eastville was a run down place even by the standards of the day but it had the advantage that you could easily wander from one part of the ground to another. That was the same as a lot of grounds in those days. Wandering was helped by the fact that crowds were small.

  14. My prediction:

    Home

    Leicester L

    Blackburn D

    Huddersfield D

    Rotherham L

    Away

    Plymouth D

    Sunderland L

    Norwich L

    Stoke D

Msybe this seems a bit harsh with only 4 points from 8 games but results are strange at the end of the season. Teams that are doomed to relegation suddenly  play relaxed football, hence City to lose at home to Rotherham on the last day of the season
