  1. Interesting times in which we live, and in some way a sad reflection of those times. Taking the fact it is 'them' out of it, another football club goes foreign. Going to have to watch what happens now really. The rivalry notwithstanding, in many ways I do hope it is really somebody who has an interest in local football, and not somebody who is just going to see it as a play thing.
  2. Enjoying a bacon buttie and a pint no doubt...
  3. Think they have given themselves a chance. Hung on to most of their better players over the window, and have sold a car park it appears for a good few million. All comes down to how their main creditor acts, but should not bank on them going into admin.
  4. Tickets arrived yesterday. Leave at 2pm and get there comfortably. Was hoping for a bare minimum of five points against Charlton, Ipswich, MK, so a very good start. Good point for them at Cardiff today, but win that and we may for the first time in ages have a little breathing space.
  5. Result everything today. Three clean sheets in four. Did not in truth sound great but who cares. Would have rather Bolton drew but hey ho. One of those after the event which in truth sounded comfortable, but at the time I was having kittens. Get in there!
  6. Am I right in saying we are the only team currently winning in the league! Must be unusual. Edit, until Birmigham scored at 45+5.
  7. Sounding a bit of a nothing game in fairness, hopefully our goal can settle any nerves.
  8. Think a draw is best, but just got to look for our own results to get us away.
  9. Got to hand it to Lee. In charge for minutes and we are outside the relegation zone...
  10. Lot of pressure on Reid today. Surprised he is first choice, but sounded like he did well against Bham. Was Gladwin already injured when we signed him?
  11. Having been truly awful, Sod's law they have found their scoring boots, 2-2 and 4-1 last two games. Charlton are the team at the bottom I have been most worried about, as they started the season with a long list of injuries, who are slowly coming back. In isolation, a draw is not to bad, but given our position, we really need some wins from somewhere. In the league, only scored in one of our last nine away games! Got to put that right. If we lose, think I will keep away from OTIB for a bit. Really should be going for the double against them today, but hopefully we can nick it.
  12. Agree entirely that this should have all happened over the summer. It did not and we are were we are. Will take the new players time to settle in, and it is going to be very tight. 4pts against Bro, Leeds and Bham is the top end of what I could see. Scoring is a problem, and in this game, a pretty big one. Lets see where we are after the next handful of games. not over yet, by a long way.
  13. Clean sheets against Mbro and Bham. Sounds like we really should have won, but said that to often this season. Decent point in isolation, signs of life. Need things to go our way against Charlton and MK.
  14. Quite possible, difficult opponent, but east to forget last ten games or so of Cotts how little we did create. First half v Preston, not a single shot.
  15. Surprised to be honest Reid gets the nod over Gladwin and Burns, both of whom I would have ahead if him. Intererested to see how they line up.
  16. Sounded pretty poor all round. We missed a couple of half decent chances by the sound of it, and a bit of a mess up for their goal. All it took today sadly. I think their only shot on target.
  17. Get your point, and we certainly have not turned in to Barcelona overnight. Difficult to read to much in to the radio in truth, but the one thing that sounds different is we do not seem to be being cut open defensively to easy either. Not going to say to much as there is still a whole half to go!
  18. Sounded ok in fairness. Kodjia a couple of decent chances. Sounding pretty solid, but no quarter being asked or given. Bottom of the table looks much tighter with Bolton and Charlton winning. edit...although Charlton are now drawing, which is decent now.
  19. Maybe as importantly for us, MK, who hopefully will become distracted by playing Chelsea.
  20. And that is exactly what we did. First twenty we were by far the better side. Could and maybe should have gone a goal up. We were not great, no good pretending we are. However, against the team top of this league, and a very average premier side we have drawn 1-1 overall, with far from our first team tonight.
  21. Ho hum. WBA when they got ahead managed the game well. Real shame about what looked a soft goal. To be fair, really disappointed in WBA but they got what they wanted. Difficult to read to much in to our effort. On paper, given the changes we made, very decent effort. Equally, they really looked there for the taking. Given some players a run out, rested some others. Missed Smith, and midfield looked weak on paper, and so it turned out. Reid not yet for me, but hard to judge in this game. Burns getting some good minutes under his belt, and Wilbs now a useful squad member. Not in truth a great game. A result rationally I ought to feel pretty good about, having watched it, really disappointed. On to the league!
  22. WBA looking pretty comfortable in truth now. Missing some key players, so not disappointed with the score unduly, although always hate to lose. Just a shame it was a poor goal to conceed.
