    What Slarti said.

Oh it is an insane total for sure ,3 sides on 90 plus is an exceptionally intense and high standard top 3 race, looked like Southampton could make it 4 and they do merit a fair bit of credit, but lucky or good I suspect the injury record assists them, continuity- consistency, it all very much feeds in.

I'd forgotten about Rolls as Pete mentioned but we had our very worst injury season with him at the helm.

That may be down to the 'head coach' and too much time on the grass. God forbid, don't give the players time off in the international break....

In answer to the question about Phil Alexander leaving and there being no single figurehead, this is the sort of wafflly nonsense I referred to earlier. It’s a collection of words that mean absolutely nothing

“yes absolutely. I mean we’re set up slightly differently here in the fact that the chief executive as it was isn’t really running the commercial operation of the club which it would be most places. Look, the operation part that Tom is fulfilling here is the necessary part and we obviously need leadership in terms of the people, the teams and the building, but then in terms of your figurehead, for me you need different voices. Obviously we’re all talking we should be giving similar messaging, but you’ve got your people giving messaging externally, but internally it’s how it works and operates, so there’s not really any void there in that sense and you’ve got to get used to a team”.

I mean - is anyone any the wiser after that??

  3. Not sure if anyone picked up on it but he mentioned Plymouth and it appeared to be deliberate and then it went very quiet as if his interest in the job was discussed 'off camera' or am I 2nd guessing?

    They could do alot worse....

With regards to his dismissal, the comments Nige made clearly indicated that he was a tad frustrated with how it was all dealt with. Stinks really and a bit 2 bit.

I don't think he will speak very highly of the owners when he has the opportunity but with regards to our fanbase, he will be enormously complimentary....

  4. Tricky one for @headhunter to ask more probing questions at a senior reds bash. It did come across a bit like an in-house chat but nethertheless it's worth a listen.

    Well done @headhunter

On 19 mins...a budget has not been set? I don't buy that. I appreciate there are a number of permutations but there will be an in-house sum already set but GM is never going to disclose the amount which is the right thing to do.

  5. Interesting that towards the end of the 1st half the crowd booed Pring for going back to the keeper...and let's be clear that the majority of the fans going to these end of season meaningless games are the hard-core type.

You can sense that the style of play is not being well received by the fan base even though we are on this unbeaten run. I guess it's all about next season now. If we are top 10 playing this way, then I'm happy as that's improvement but anything like bottom half of the table come mid October, expect more booing from the stands if we continue to go sideways, backwards and back again...

  6. I just hope our recruitment team (which is not Liam, it's more Tins as we know) gets it right in the summer and we have a right go next season.

Some may get excited about our latest run. I'm not as oh boy, it was desperately needed to keep Liam in a job. We are where we are.

Same players, same results. Over to you now Brian to give Liam what he needs to improve...

The table seems to have updated. Remember Leeds v Hull is still ongoing, Leicester v Southampton, Southampton v Preston both postponed, Coventry v Hull too.

    14th. 9/25, 32 pts from 25..midtable or thereabouts.

19th, 22nd and 24th in that table to play at Home.

Good analysis. I am interested in this data and fair shout for keeping it rolling but at the end of the day, it's very much the same team apart from Twine, so mid table results are inevitable.

  8. All this, Manning In, Manning Out = Manning is Staying!

Mark @Curr Avon don't get too happy clappy though. Like Southampton, yesterday is just 1 game.

I read in another topic that since Liam came in, he's attained 29 points from 24 games, so the squad are performing at mid table levels like we have done all season.

That is where the current squad are. They will win some, lose more and get the odd draw. Simples.

Is only fair I update on a rolling basis.

14th since Manning took over..maybe we are approaching parity again but if the endeavour, cohesion and being well set today was the baseline of performance I don't think there would be many complaints right now.

    Anyway.

Yep, it mirrors the whole season and proves that the squad is mid table at best.

Ian Gay’s 8 game comment could easily just be his opinion rather than something Tinnion has told him. The text didn’t say anything about sources and can be read as opinion if wished.  Think conclusions might have been jumped too here

On this one, like you, I don't think there is anything in it. We all know that the next 8 games are important for Liam's future. That's not difficult to work out. I would go as far to say that if we lose to Leicester, Plymouth and Sunderland he would be relieved of his duties. I think 8 from 8 will keep him in a job. Not a great return though is it.

Tomo, for once I disagree.  Back at the end of the transfer window I was on the pod, and we were all chatting before going on air.  He said things then that you’d only know if you were getting fed from the inside.

This wasn’t a tit-bit from the guy on the gate, this was too detailed.  It was nothing like the stuff he’d spouted in the past.  It wasn’t repeating stuff from the Post or from one of those Transfer Centre Twitter accounts and claiming as his own.

Interesting mate. If you are correct, I'm still not convinced that BT would be the source.

If Ian has had previous knowledge of 'certain' inside information, it's more likely to come from someone lower down the chain imo...

I did not hear the earlier comment on the show where someone, the chap Gay it seems, said that Manning has 8 games to save the show. What does that mean? Does he have to win some games? Play well, so performances? Get a certain number of points?

Also, based on what I read here, that person is being fed information directly, allegedly, from Tinnion. If that is the case, then Tinnion needs cautioning,  as that sort of information is far too sensitive and important to be divulging outside of the club management circles. That undermines Manning further (and I am someone who wants him gone) and is unprofessional. What if the players get to hear that?

I wouldn't read too much into Ian Gay being ITK. The Tinnion link is what Ian would want you to believe.😂

He contributes to the FBC podcast and his most recent views are simply voiced to be controversial and let's not talk about his tweets on X🙄

It's quite comical that any respect he held from the fanbase continues to fade. Even BBC Radio Bristol are selecting others for post match supporters feedback, which tells you that 'Ian's Views' are becoming fastly outdated in 2024, with little factual content. Ask Fevs 😂

However, I still enjoy listening to Mr Gay though as all fans should be allowed to put forward their opinion.

Tonight's SOTC was brilliant. I sit in the same press area as GO and JP for 1st team fixtures and I always sit next to Piercey at U21 games and we pick the bones out of the talent coming through (not always in agreement though😂). James is a top journalist and incredibly invested in what he does. Naturally he has become emotionally attached to our club which comes with the job. I won't divulge who he supports from his childhood but don't worry it's not the Gas.

A great listen. Keep up the good work BBC Radio Bristol.

No car crashes this time. However I counted seven Southamptons!

Biggest news is that Twine fit, Tanner maybe but Naismith out and from the sounds of it for the season.

Yep. Tins and now Liam harping on about the Southampton game over and over. It was 1 bloody good performance. Look at the full picture please...

    13 wins in 37 games....
