Put Flinty up front, I'm sure years ago we converted a CB to striker, remind me who it was someone.
One of the best makeshift striker converted from Centre Back (not us) must have been Paul Warhurst at Sheff Weds!

if we lose today then thats the first time city has ever lost 8 league games in a row,
i am sorry but how can any manager survive that
In our 120 yr history. The owner must take action whatever the result today.

Having signed, what, 17 players, I think we can say he really isn't a very good manager.
Exactly.

Looking at 12 losses in 13 games in the league.
Looking at club record of 8 league defeats on the bounce in our 120 year history

Im quite pleased with the gasheads acquisition. Be great to see both clubs in the championship (minimum) as my own son reaches his teens in 6 years time. Great banter lies ahead for him with the gas! We can only dream of the promised land. I think its great for bcfc also. Lansdown will have local competition and will want to compete against the gas and remain the top bristol club . Great news for bristol in general. Bring back the derbies asap i say!

I doubt if Cotts would fit into their set up - a little like we have currently adopted in Mark "Corporate Talk" Ashton,
He will find a decent job - I just hope he sits tight and don't make the same mistake as Gary Johnson did when leaving us. If GJ would have sat tight, rather than taking the first job offering at Peterboroigh (was it ?) he would have possibly remained a championship manager - he's back in the conference for that reason, albeit will hopefully get Cheltenham back up this season,
Talk of Moyes ? He would not step down to the championship - reason being, if he failed, he would be back in tier 3 where he started with Preston. Moyes will wait until a mid table premiership side come in for him.
Cotts - sit tight fella, you will be back in the championship within 6 months!

Cotts on Player Interview - we battered them !

Great performance - awful atmosphere. Top of the league, sell out, local(ish) rivals.. Atmosphere was dreadful.
The atmos was shocking but lets be honest who cares - we are 15 points clear of 3rd place,
We sang when we scored, we sang when we won....thats fine. What did crack me up - we are 15 pts clear and a few fans sat around me were still moaning about missed placed passes whilst 2 nil up - that is far more worrying than a lack of atmosphere tonight. Some fans need to get a grip !
-
Posh have lost more games than us this season - stay positive !
-
Not wanting to sound pedantic, but he has also drew 173 games, giving him a win percentage of just over 40%.
Which is in-sync with pretty much every manager if you look on wiki - good point made!

First of all, I must say that Mr SC was certainly not my number 1 choice to replace O'dismall.
However bad we were today (and it sounds very bad) all SC was saying is "how it is" - we all like to think we are winner's so give the guy a break. He is not the one that has put us in this position - it's been brewing for along time. The fact of the matter is he is trying to get us out of this mess whether you like him or not as a person.
It cracks me up - so many threads over and over and over and only a few hundred (if that) could be arsed to go to the Questions and Answers session a month back (held at the ground where you could have had your say to the people we are all moaning about - the board and the manager).
The club is in a mess but it's not all Steve Cotterill's fault. We need to give him 100% for the final 13 games. If we dont then we have no chance of staying up. It really does crack me up that so many fans think that slagging him off is going to help matters.
Dont get me wrong, I am completely disillusioned by what is happening at our club. But for once, lets try and say something positive.
What about "bloody hell, that interview with cotts after the Shef Utd game was really passionate. He aint having any of it. His attitude is about being a winner etc etc etc, lets hope that rubs off with the players and they accept the kick up the ass after a shocking performance. All the forum is saying he is a failure. FFS, this boy is not going anywhere. The board are gonna stick with him whatever happens.
Im fed up like all of us but dig after dig at Cotts is not gonna change a thing (well apart from a few who feel better typing their frustration on a keyboard),League 2 beckons as of today...but lets back them until the final whistle!

Its mad mad mad - its 4th tier footy all the way unless we start picking up points !
-
Ffs...we need to stop all this small minded crap. He would do a good job if appointed
-
They wouldnt mate,
It would be the right "business" decision. I hated holloway when he was playing for the gas but I think most "bristol footy" fans have a lot of respect for him, including me!
What about the customers (fans) leaving in their droves?
-
Just had a text from a Leeds fan. He said all us city fans should get over ourselves and welcome holloway...he also said stay way clear of Warnock - !
-
If you simply base the decision as if it was any other business (not football) Ian Holloway has the best record / cv and is available. In recent times he has the best record of getting clubs to the premiership etc.
I would accept that business decision and tuck my small minded-ness under my pillow...

I would have Holloway...we have to get over our small minded-ness...

a mate of mine is in a corporate box up there (with wolves folk) - just text and before they knew he was City, in his company they were commenting that we were the best side they have seen at theirs this season!
