Should be able to get another couple as they push forward

We are very good around the box ,but no good in it. With funds so limited I really hope Cornick will turn out to be a lot better than he has appeared so far ,as an out and out forward would make such a difference.

Whatever people think of the way Jones behaves on the touchline or in interviews,3 months is a ridiculously short period of time for a team that was bottom of the league to give a new manager. We are seeing the promise of a better end of season run and certainly next season’s expectations for giving NP a bit of time-that I guess understandably many on here didn’t want to give him as we were so poor to watch earlier in the campaign. I think back to the last manager to get us to the promised land-Alan Dicks ,he was on fairly shaky ground for a season or two prior to promotion finishing 4th ?from bottom one year .Fortunately he was given time and we had 4 seasons in the old 1st division. I guess the pressures on owners in the internet age with so much social media criticism of players ,managers etc cause these very expensive knee jerk reactions. SL giving managers a decent go (with the occasional exception) is a very positive character trait imo.

The thing I remember about that game ,is at the final whistle the Liverpool fans piled on the pitch and congregated in the centre circle.They proceeded to jump about and sing their songs …………and were left unhindered to do so as I left the ground.

Interesting financial comments above. Clearly recruitment has been poor ,however just checked on transfermarkt,not sure how accurate it is ,but suggests when slagging LJ ‘s transfer activity (on a financial basis-there is no doubt a lot of rubbish was bought),may not be fair. We look like we made 19m profit in 18/19 and 15m profit in 19/20 and 4m profit in 20/21-purely based on transfer ins and outs .

That’s the frustration,France hardly got out of second gear.We were far the better team.

We are a couple of centre backs away from being a great team.

Nathan is a talented lad.Did well as a number two at Brighton and continued that at Luton. Stoke were a basket case when he went there and didn’t give him long enough. I look forward to seeing how he does at Southampton,by the way he won’t have a heart attack on the line a fitter bloke you are unlikely to find.

Think we probably got away with a good penalty shout there.

Just nice to read something about City.Over the last week or so ,there’s been so much about Liverpool and Man Utd on here that I thought I’d logged into the wrong website.

This season has been great so far. Semenyo is our biggest financial asset and I was delighted we were able to keep him.He has been coming back from injury but now is fully fit.He is scoring great goals.Another last night and all from the bench. I think it’s time for him to start.Kane,Salah,Haarland etc don’t come on as impact players and I believe Semenyo is our best striker (although Conway has done well this year). Rather than him chipping in with late goals ,with him starting we could be well on top by the break. I truly believe we have a shout at promotion this year.Norwich will be right up there and we outplayed them for considerable lengths of time last night despite gifting them a two goal lead. I know the defence needs to tighten up ,but believe starting Semenyo is also part of the puzzle. Anyway we are 4-1 for the win at Burnley on Saturday,got to be worth a small punt. Loving the football again.

I know this is about Semenyo ,but to be perfectly honest wherever he plays up front along with the other guys we are a handful for anyone. If we could only sort out the defence we would have a great chance of going up this season.

Loving it at the moment,clearly if we can keep our best players then we may well be able to look at the other end of the table than expected this season. But going back to the last promotion to the promised land ,if we had lost Cheesley and Gow to transfers early in the season ,then we wouldn’t have gone up .Small margins in this league. Shut the transfer window now please!!!

You’re probably right,16 of their last 17 matches were in the league below ,I’m hoping we are up for our first home game of the season…. So more notts county and less Millwall for those who can remember that far back.

Well at 29/20 for the win I have lumped £20 on us . Sunderland looked ok in attack last week on the telly ,but thought they were vulnerable at the back.We were unlucky to lose at Hull. Hate betting on us as often double misery,but think the odds are too tempting to ignore.

I probably sat next to you in the years 1971-1975 as we always went in the open end then and sat on the ledge behind the ht scoreboard .We then moved to the east end as there was plenty of trouble in the open end back then. I always ran on the pitch at the end to pat the players on the back(loads of us nippers did it and it was accepted as ok then),I remember the shirts being bobbly to the touch and not smooth. Happy days ,I hope they remind you of your Dad and the time you spent together .

I’d be a tad pissed off if my family and home had been destroyed by a foreign country invading my land. I guess some people (the polish coach)have standards,others appear to be apologists and don’t.

I think those of us of a certain age remember when teams didn’t change their kits every season. Leeds we’re all white ,Liverpool all red ,even the away kits generally were the same (although that yellow Leeds kit in the 70’s was perhaps where it started to change).We had red shirts and white shots ,a bit dull ,but all kits were in those days ,it was solely a way of deferentiating between the two teams . This years strip is an Arsenal strip ,I’ll manage ,but just not very Bristol City. On a more positive note ,it could be argued that City are helping some Bristolians with the cost of living crisis,as I see many clad in Arsenal shirts as I go about my business in the City and they can now rock up to Ashton Gate without spending a penny and fit right in .

Jeez ,just seen this. It is an Arsenal shirt full stop. Don’t they realise Man City are the country’s top team ,if we wanted to copy a premiership team perhaps we should have gone the full sky blue…….
