  1. He comes across as lee johnson without all the BS to me, very humble and keen to play things down......I guess we will wait and see how results go before we know if there is a Manning BS filter to apply too
  2. The most damning thing in these 2 interviews released today is neither say : "Nigel was a big part of everything we have done but we just want to take the next step. " The lack of his name even being mentioned once shows you cant believe a word of what has been said on an in house media channel.
  3. When tinnion was on Robin's tv he was so positive it was North Korea esq.... Now apparantly Nige isnt so great and we need a new coach?
  4. It seems clear to me they were concerned (bizarrely when you read the rest of this sentence!) that we might pick up points against sheff wed and qpr which would then make sacking him difficult. With the injuries recently, our league position and the complete lack of any fans calling for his head (think back to when LJ survived all sorts of fan pressure) it is an absurd decision.
  5. NP is normally very deliberate in what he says so he wont have said what he said yesterday for no reason . Trying to galvanise the fanbase for wed ?
  6. Well I assume it's from now but that is a good example of why I've been critical! Got to start somewhere I guess though
  7. Yeah very much true for the big picture although those are personal choices, not the clubs. I've been quite critical of the club for 'talking a lot' about how green we are whilst still flying to matches so think its important to say fair play now they've announced this policy. Il try not to moan when we lose away at Boro because the players are tired from the coach trip
  8. Well ...I must eat some humble pie. English Football League sides make environment pledge - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67067513 Appears we will no longer being flying to ANY matches. Fair play. This is much more impactful. Credit where it's due.
  9. Really sorry if I've made a mistake but I did message and wondered if it might have got lost in the forum move but there was a jamie vardy thread yday that when I click on my notifications seems I have disappeared Is this an error /has it been merged somewhere? I did check some other threads but cant see it merged. Apilogies ,this is probably my bad. please delete and dm me if easier.
  10. Hi all, Reading the recent meeting between the supporters trust and bristol.city I was shocked at how many answers were 'this is to do with Bristol sport' It seems like a cop out to me but it got me thinking about a hypothetical but I assume unlikely scenario. What would happen/be the consequences of Lansdown selling Bristol city but keeping Bristol sport ? Is it the actual stadium bristol sport own or do they just provide the services in it for example. If bristol city own the stadium and my scenario came true would the new owner be effectively able to kick out the rugby team etc etc Someone like @Davefevs I'm sure can detail a few implications althoguh I also assume.the scenario is highly unlikely ....or is it? Are there any actual possible scenarios where lansdown only sells one/part of the bristol sport empire ?
  11. No doubt some 'nice' steps that no doubt did come from hard work but unfortunately all just lip service to the tackling the actual issue of climate change at the club and football as a whole. In short we are the the 2nd best at the stuff which isnt the important stuff for climate change.
  12. People saying hes been sacked in his last 3 jobs for poor performance but to look it at it another way -sacked from Bristol city but guided club from relegation candidates to solid top half team -sacked from sunderland despite them being in the top 6 at the same time (maybe even 3rd?) -sacked after guiding Hibs into europe following a poor start to the following season Not saying these are my views but some people almost implying his last 3 jobs have been disastrous failures whereas if you were him you would easily be able to spin it the other way...and knowing Johnson he most definitely will! I dont understand the hate for Johnson , I understand he might not be a favourite but you have to try and have some balance and fairness in assessing things.
  13. They're well run but exactly the same things were being said about southampton 5 years ago ...
  14. Conveniently curtis fleming on media duty ahead of the milwall game ...
  15. I give the club a lot of stick over lack of comms etc and processes but all of this seems very proactive and sensible so well done to those involved . Makes a difference
  16. Are we expecting Benarous to be available for the first game or do we think any involvement will just be part of his rehab with a later return date? I think maybe Atkinson wont be back til oct/november too?
  17. Not that I thought Luton would struggle but it can happen, look at huddersfield. I dont think anyone expected them to be in the top half in either of the last two seasons. More fool us!
  18. Will be interesting to see the full report once published. What did he bet on etc Did he bet on things he had information on potentially etc
  19. Because he pleaded guilty in February is my point. I.e. everyone agreed he was guilty then.
  20. Its ridiculous result, he pleaded guilty in feb but has still been playing. Imagine if brentford were down the bottom and his goals in that time had kept them up.
  21. Why is ashton talking about holden now ? Would think he would rather pretend it didnt happen
  22. 10 live games per weekend but none at 3pm....surely lots of Sunday games incoming ?
  23. We are going to finish exactly where we deserve to. Anything else is just rose tinted glasses or doom merchants
  24. Won promotion. Fair play to them regardless of some of our feelings about Ashton. They've had a great last 10 to 15 games. Be interesting to see how they do next year.
  25. To be honest if he goes somewhere on loan he is more likely to go somewhere like Southampton or another team likely to be in the promotion mix. Not saying we cant be in the mix. Geography may also play a part. E.g. if he signed for fulham then perhaps a loan at watford so he can settle into London etc
