  1. Wouldnt surprise me at all. Always very popular with the fans for the effort he put in. Wiilbraham always put a lot of work in too but is unfairly remembered in my opinion by many for 10minute cameos when we were chasing a goal. He really ran his socks off in the league one campaign
  2. Thanks for the reply. That's a shame. Obviously distance run isnt perfect but would be interesting. I wonder if JET even ran a mile !
  3. Would be interested if @Davefevs has any data for distance run perhaps but as fans we all love someone who gives their all for the team even if they dont have the ability to match their peers. Who are the players who you think have always given their all (with or without the ability to match)? For me Josh Brownhill- the guy regularly was blowing on 85 mins but was still sprinting or at least trying to! He never seemed to stop. If only we had him in midfield now! John stead- always ran his socks off, pressing, closing down. Would often be running back to try and help the midfield too Andi weimann- if there is one thing everyone agrees on about weiman here and everywhere else he has been is that he will always put the work in. Never seems to stop regardless of the position he plays
  4. I'm not sure how anyone can say he doesnt care. Whenever he has played and we have won he celebrates with the fans and players like it's a cup final...great to see. As @GrahamC has pointed out he has had some excellent games this season where we have actually WON! It just seems odd he has seemingly been completely cast aside despite us having king at the back at times and s bench full of youngsters too. Seems like he would be a good guy to bring on for the last 10 mins if we are a goal up this afternoon?
  5. Yeah I get that but Naismith has been solely at fault for 5+ goals at least and is still in the starting 11. My point here isnt to knock Naismith its to highlight that it seems unlikely he should be bombed out completely based on form on the pitch. If he is struggling physically then obviously that would make more sense
  6. Have I missed an injury update on Klose? If not he appears to have been completely bombed out. Surely it would be better to have him on the bench than some of the youngsters? He doesnt seem like an obvious candidate to fall out with Pearson? And before anyone talks about mistakes ...plenty of other players have made mistakes and not been completely bombed out like he has. At home he has often been as good as anyone on either side when hes played What's happend ?
  7. An interesting thing to ponder. Have everton fans violated their own club charter on inclusivity ? Quite clearly says about making people feel 'safe'?
  8. I agree its remarkable but surely no one thinks it's a conspiracy. We are a complete nobody, even more so in the period in question, mid table obscurity with light flirting of the play offs and relegation. It's a frustrating situation but at worse perhaps we arent getting the benefit of any doubt because people like scott and wells dont stay on their feet. Scott in particular had a period where he was always looking for a foul.
  9. Champions of europe you'll never sing that...at least according to someone on wikipedia ?
  10. Number 1 is a very good idea. Number 2 not feasible unfortunately as if a player gets injured by an opponent and it's a foul it would be absurd tp effectively punish the team whose been fouled. The best option for this situation is simply to do what they do in rugby and play on, physio just treats player whilst the match continues.
  11. If I remember rightly Henrikson was brought in to replace brownhill til the end of the season who had just gone to Burnley? Henrikson barely played and was let go well before the end of the season. Safe to say one of the biggest downgrades ever replacing brownhill.
  12. Exactly...we are on a bad enough state on the pitch that we dont need to give the away fans a gee up
  13. Dont think so especially. But for wba it really is one of the songs they sing pre match...they were singing along to the whole thing !
  14. Not sure I can digest the stuff on the pitch yet but for the 2nd year running why on earth are we playing song wba sing just before the teams come out It's the equivilant of wba putting 'I am a cider drinker' on at the hawthorns. I know its only a small thing but it is amateur. If you are in charge of the music at Ashton gate I dont mean any harm, please just do a bit of research first. The last thing we need is getting the away fans livened up anymore than they already are Here is the song in question
  15. We win this but get the plane to hull and drive an empty coach there to ship the team from the airport to the ground and back again.
  16. Did I miss something on Kalas? He was out for ages and then unexpectedly returned for the milwall match. Played about 20 minutes and hasn't been seen since. Must have missed it if it was on the OS
  17. This will be very awkward if we have poor first half. I.also dont understand why the team and manager are involved during half time. Appreciate its remembrance weekend but do this during another game then instead...not shoehorn it into half time with the first 11 and manager.
  18. Just listened to this ...bit late to the party! Hunt comes across really well and takes responsibility for his time here and says he understands why the fans dont like him much. He pretty much says there was no depression/significant off the pitch issue but does say it was tough being away from the family. Makes a fair point about only playing 7 games but also talks about flying home to Manchester every weekend he wasnt in the squad which wouldnt have helped his cause here. Like I said, he takes full responsibility though. No excuses or BS.
  19. Yeah but why take the risk that a picky ref gives a free kick.. We would have no complaints if they did
  20. I counted on one occasion using the big screen....25 seconds one time...he needs to be careful
  21. I think it was a complete holding appointment until people knew more about how covid would impact finances etc. Dont forget when he was appointed no one had any idea when fans would return etc. In the end it was over 12 months. Was pre vaccines etc. Point is...I think the club thought 'we wont go down' so it's a risk free appointment until we know more. Obviously if he had turned out to be amazing it would have been happy days! Unfortunately...we may well have gone down but then by that point we were 6/7 months further into the pandemic and in came Pearson and ultimately we were fine . What was particularly depressing that season is we had bottom of the league form for the last 42 matches of the season. I think we got 41 points (we won the first 4 I think). This effectively gave us a false league position for about 80% of the season as it turned out. To any neutrals we never looked in too much danger but to the fans we went through bottom of the league football, during a covid lockdown in the winter watching Robin's tv tell us all how great we were. A time I'm happy to forget both in and out of football. All this being said, as people have said Holden was very likeable. Mainly because of his honesty which was so refreshing after LJ. Perhaps he was a bit too honest at times but I'm not sure many managers who had such a poor record would be as liked as holden was. I think we all wish him well.
  22. If you are sad enough to trawl through my posts you'll see plenty of times that I've knocked the club for various things that have been disappointed with in the past e.g. the way they handled the covid refunds. However, credit where credit is due. They made the forum as open as they could last night, promoting it on the offical site and putting it on multiple streaming channels and I think over 30,000 people were watching on youtube at one point. This is a huge improvement on the previous era and i just thought it was good and fair to praise the club in this instance for making last night open, transparent and accessible.
