    There are indeed such ways.

What I am trying to point out is that anyone with a lengthy history of following City, going back to the mid eighties or earlier, will probbaly have had reason to be grateful to have had a "firm" on their side given that an opposition "firm" was looking for trouble.

The Bill Gardner video, and yes I'm referencing again, is incident after incident of his being there when fans were attacked and defending them.

I haven't listened to it for a while but his defence could take the form of stepping forwards despite being heavily outnumbered in order to allow the normal / not looking for a fight fans he was with to avoid being attacked.  Okay all his version of it but the one time he did come to trial he was found not guilty.

I'm not defending some nasty scrote with a Stanley knife here but pointing out that there have been times in the past when Bristol City fans will have been grateful that an element of their fans have been up for a fight because it meant that they didn't have to be.

That's very far from glorifying it IMO.

This is true mate and I’ve witnessed it on quite a few occasions through 70s 80s 90s and noughties

  2. Unfortunately this debate of fighting mobs has been done to death and will never go away teddy boys v greasers / mods v rockers , skinheads suede heads  punk rockers  gangs that go back and back and who’s members were your dad /your grandad or his dad and this goes right back through time ,these kids are not the problem ( tell that to the Blackpool family who lost that member ) this is a unusual occurrence a death at footy , very rare , the violence at football nowadays very rare but that said 1 death is too many RIP

How does he come to that conclusion? It was obviously an unprovoked act by a bunch of cowards (who deserved a hiding themselves). But to conclude from that, that "most" of our support as the lowest life in the football leagues is ridiculous.

Are most of his clubs fans now the lowest life in the league due to this incident on the weekend? Of course they are not.

As for the fan that was killed (RIP) - hopefully this will make a few "bullies" think twice.

I was going to say apparently Burnley fans were allocated the Manchester which happens to all clubs travelling to Blackpool but it was Blackpool fans who attacked them now 2 wrongs and all that but come on to call our fans scum -stones in glass houses and yes sorry you had to put up with shit behaviour from our idiots but don’t tar everyone with that brush mind

Our aim should be to sneak into the top half, it's achievable and a bad result or two doesn't rule it out unlike the play offs, also I wouldn't want us to make the play offs this season, I think that would be more detrimental to end the season on disappointment and if by an absolute miracle we got promoted this squad would probably set a record for least points earned in the Premier League. Silly thoughts aside a top half finish would be positive, it would give confidence to grow on next season and time for us to recruit for the new system we play.

Spike I’ve always thought we’d never have a squad ready for prem BUT the rewards are. So big it doesn’t matter , look at forest I thought nailed on for relegation but have spent £130 million and are now picking up points and they got promoted with 5 loans in team

    Bingo.

    Heres the one game target:

    image.thumb.png.e7651fa08340dac077eeb7d4895af6a9.png

    Beat Huddersfield, go 12th.

Draw with Huddersfield, go 13th, or stay 14th if Reading beat Sheffield United (assuming not been deducted 6 points by then).

One game at a time.  Boring as it is, sorry.

May be boring but from 12 Another win gets us 50 Which as it stands 5 points behind playoffs if players don’t believe in themselves and fans don’t either WHATS THE POINT a bit like the ass holes who say I knew we’d lose to Cardiff because it took it out of us tues ffs

    Still gone.

Play offs have been realistically out of our reach for months.

I agree but must set targets one game at a time and finish as high as we can ready for a rebuild next season

It was a poor day I agree but even the teams you mention will have those…. That’s football. The key for us is bouncing back now, we tend to be a streaky team so I hope a couple of defeats doesn’t send us onto a terrible run. Especially with the injuries and threadbare squad we are going to have to run with for the time being.

I always thought talk of the play offs was fanciful and I still do. But the positives still far outweigh the negatives in recent months for me.

Yes spot on we will limp over the line and the target must be 50 points  asap as a small unbalanced squad last thing we want now is too collapse and be nervously looking over our shoulders for remaining games COYR

Spot on. Anyone talking about us making the play offs in the last week just in absolute different world.

Well straight after game I said “gone” but. Go to Huddersfield and win our game in hand only 8 points behind then Blackpool home next sat

  9. Ok let’s press the reminder button and go back 5 years to when we beat Man Utd and lost a 2 leg semi to Man City , we were 3rd in championship with a far stronger squad obviously THE MENTAL PHYSICAL BURNOUT ****** us right up as we nosed dived to midtable and a certain manager lost his job and a lot of you saying it’s ok to lose a game after a BIG cup game beware and while we’re at it WHY play a big cup game if we know that the following league game is a given lose ?

    Out of likes. Spot on.

We tried today, it just didn't come off. That's football and absolutely no reason for the usual suspects to come crawling out from their rocks to slag everyone and sundry off.

"Take a look at themselves" is an absolutely farcical overreaction even my toddler would be embarrassed by.

So you were happy with that as a display for 90 mins of football were you or you expected us to lose did you because of Tuesday

  11. We all now the squad is paper thin but that team picked to start today maybe with wells instead of bell was classed as FIT now that team should have been good enough to have beaten a very poor Cardiff city side , now if it’s a metal emotionally fatigue thing then there’s something wrong with our recovery set up which I doubt there is TODAY may have been after the Lord Mayors show syndrome but that’s down to management team to get the side ready but I still say heads not on it and a very lacklustre show all be it Williams injury messed our shape up . Onwards and upwards and let’s hope the mental emotions of losing 3 points to a poor side don’t weight to heavy for Huddersfield game

  12. That was a very disappointing match to watch , think the team need to look at their selves I don’t agree with The being tired from the Tuesday cup game as professional players at this stage of season should be up for a Saturday game they showed little will to win and just got BOSSED by a Cardiff side who I thought looked poor . Our shape was badly disjointed when Williams went off and that along with kalas later were crucial reasons for loss but again today players never showed up

South Standers would’ve got a good view of his hand being out and deflecting it downwards.

Correct I’m sat right behind goal and had his hand been by his side fair enough but hand was up to shoulder height and stopped cross deflecting ball downwards ,definitely a pen

  14. One game at a time and the togetherness is immense these players believe in one another and have each other’s backs , let’s push on after Tuesday free hit and secure 50 points asap , the fans are also with you COYR

I appreciate its good to finish as strongly as possible, but do we actually want to be in the playoffs? I mean, would we want to get promoted with a squad that has spent half the season closer to the relegation zone?

I think I’d rather finish about tenth with a view to another improvement next season. If by chance we got promoted in the playoffs now, I suspect next season would be utter humiliation.

It depends as promotion through play off final brings with it est £200 m so there is a lot can be done with that , I thought forest were nailed on relegation certs but after spending £130 million they look set to remain in prem , and that brings more money so I don’t think we will make it but who knows?
