That's nothing to do with the players though. We will do it and it's the right thing to do.

Agreed. It was great when Chesterfield lined up for us at their place in 2015.

  2. Geoff has done his job very well. I've come across him a few times through my work, an impressively professional broadcaster, a real asset to the BBC. We'll look back on listening to Geoff on Radio Bristol as we drive home from matches as we might look back on reading the Green 'Un, or Peter Godsiff or Richard Latham in the Post. Something else will come along but BBC local radio is on its knees and I can't see anyone having the time to build a loyal following in the way Geoff has.  I can completely understand that at his age and after such a fine career he'd want to move on and do other things but it'll be the end of an era. Good luck to him, would be good to see him on the pitch at Ashton Gate to get a round of applause.

Living in Australia, I have to stay awake till an ungodly hour to watch games.

I don't know how you do it. Fair play. I was in Australia for the Man City match - which was an evening ko at quite a respectable Australian early morning time - and that felt like an effort!

I'm enjoying what's happening down at the Gate enough to have bought a season ticket for next season, having given it a miss this year. I think Pearson knows what he is trying to achieve, and how to achieve it and in fairness to the Lansdowns he's seemingly being allowed to get on with it. (Is it notable that we've not heard much from the owners lately?)

As for next season - yesterday's match suggests things could be good. Tight squad playing for each other - and playing well - and lots of local talent coming through. What's not to like?

As someone who for reasons that are far too boring to go into ended up watching it on TV last night, the only thing that could have gone better for me was if Marriner had been a bit less one eyes & awarded the penalty for the clear push on Sykes.

Even if we’d scored it then it would only have been 1-1 at the time, but it would have been a lift psychologically both for the players & the crowd.

As for Scott, if anyone was harbouring any delusion that he’d be here next season, this game ended that.

Planning how to replace him is the next step & Tinnion’s comment about needed 4 players if one is sold suggests we already know this.

Agree with all that Graham. Watched in Australia as the sun was rising. Felt a very long way away! Looked and sounded great though. Good enough to book a seat for the remainder of the matches I can get to this season. Promising signs.

  5. Good to hear NP on Radio Bristol being so positive. He's gutted for Rob Atkinson - although not sure how serious it is - as he feels that he, Vyner, Tanner and Pring have been outstanding in recent matches after a few difficult patches earlier in the season.

In my opinion its very good to have a player with Kalas's experience ready to step in. Looked assured today I thought.

Probably a student project. You can't imagine anyone claiming a wage would be involved.

You consider the demographic of the season ticket holder and then choose rewards to match. And what adult bloke doesn't NEED a Unicorn.

...and the unicorns are SOLD OUT. Still, there's always the bottle opener.

The most laughable aspect is the disparity between the rewards and the cost of buying tickets. As if anyone paying £30 plus for a match ticket can't afford a bottle opener...if they really felt they needed one...I have to confess I don't.

  7. My response to the topic title is that it leaves me, personally, feeling much better disposed towards the club. One of the more effective January transfer windows, a clear logic behind the signings and a rationalising of the squad. Looks as though there is a plan. Looking forward to the remainder of the season and more optimistic than I have been for a long time about the future.
