Dominating with no end result is pointless…. May as well be under the cosh all game and nick a winner against the run of play -

If this match were a play, it would be described as a farce……. -

We have to be more clinical in the box, just not good enough, but that’s why we are where we are, too many chances going begging or chances that peter out as we get into that last phase. -

Keep clicking long enough and there will be an interesting history on your hard drive should it ever be checked….. ? -
More staying power than me, I did one season where I did every game home and away, pre-season friendlies, cup games and league, that was enough for me, it’s a huge effort to swap shifts, take holidays, leave work early, arrive late etc.

Bit late to this, I’m with those who think it’s a strange position for Blackpool FC and any ‘official’ organisation to be showing such public condolences of this death. If the guy has been an instigator of violence, then that’s the way the cookie crumbles, live by the sword, die by the sword, but don’t be lauded as a wonderful person.

Aerodynamic genius. There has always been periods of domination in F1, I can’t see RB winning every race, Leclerc will win a race or two, if Ferrari don’t screw up strategy at crucial times and even Alonso. The RB wasn’t dominant at every track last year and won’t be at this year either. What they seem to have got right with the car - along with the aerodynamics (and that maybe closely tied) is the tyre life, they seem to suffer less degradation, although Max could drive a race that didn’t stress his tyres, but Perez had to put more heat into his and still didn’t suffer with the loss of grip the others did. What else can Aston Martin do! Looks like an inspired move by Alonso and he brings a wealth of experience to the team, still great to watch and I’m sure they will have some improvements. The cost cap will be what stops Mercedes redeveloping the car into a genuine contender this season. Wolff doesn’t like it does he, but he now knows what other teams felt like during their dominance, in a time when they could spend limitless amounts on development. Most important thing is that Haas don’t sack Gunther, he’s the reason I watch Drive to Survive….. ?

Is it easy to find anyone else who has that opinion of him as a man away from football? I’ve met the guy, know someone who lives near him, has a beer with, perfectly nice bloke by all accounts and I found him to be myself. Is he a football dinosaur and a pantomime villain? Yes, it’s hard to argue with that, but vile is not a characteristic I have seen in him.

Rashford seemed to lose his form in line with his high profile campaigning. I’m assume he still is involved, but maybe at not such an intense level, if I was paying someone six figures a week (or any wage) , I’d be happy for them to get involved with things outside of work, but only to a point where it didn’t affect work in a detrimental way. He seems to have more of a football profile again, rather than a campaigner or politician, plenty of time for that full time when he finishes. When he is on form, a great player to watch.

Yep, two perfect results and those halfwits tumbling down the league, I’ll raise a glass to that. FTG indeed!

I work away a few nights every month, London being regular place amongst others, a couple of weeks back, stayed in a hotel I use regularly, but don’t really drink in. One night, went out for a beer and a curry, got back to the hotel and just fancied a glass of red to round the evening off. Nearly spat it across the bar when tasting, as the till showed £16, nothing special, just a house Malbec. Was in the same hotel this week, a bottle of Malbec from the Sainsbury’s down the road purchased and stashed in room for nightcaps, bottle for less than a tenner. I appreciate bars, pubs, hotels have to make a mark up, but £16 was taking the piss.

Attending might be a better word, well, attending some of the time, when I wasn’t bunking off and wandering round the bike shops and going to Hofbrauhaus, where it was 5p to get in and see the strippers and about 35p for a pint of watery lager……

Alan had the White Horse on West Street before that, would have been mid- late 70’s, as I played darts for his team and he wasn’t shy of a lock in - Tuesdays were always a tough day to get up and get to school on after leaving there in the early hours…..

Far be from me to suggest that even the most good intentioned when they enter the murky world of politics, are never tempted by riches, the temptation of the flesh and the promise of even more power…….

Sad news, he came across as one of footballs nice guys. Enjoyed watching his Chelsea side. Someone told a story on R5 this evening ( an ‘ordinary bloke’) said he and his wife had gone to a restaurant for an anniversary, they had booked but it was full and they were being turned away, Luca was in there with his wife and invited them to sit at their table. Wouldn’t let this couple pay for anything, and he also sent signed pictures and other stuff to the couples kids a few days later.

Player transfer out that effected you the most?
Maesknoll Red replied to Major Isewater's topic in Football Chat
Bob Taylor, you expect players to move on, but the timing and almost dismissive manner of his move was a real low at the time. -
They are, if I go in they’ll cook me something off menu, did me a proper feast for my birthday one year, just a shame GM isn’t in walking distance.
