  1. Indeed, it’s for this reason he doesn’t get the criticism he would if he wasn’t. He’s OK, but he’s not of the quality of someone like Bentley, or indeed what you would need if seriously challenging for promotion.
  2. Agreed. They struck me as completely going the wrong way about establishing oneself in the Premier League after getting promoted, bloating the side with expensive ‘talent’; and in doing so removing the team spirit that got them there in the first place.
  3. Unlikely to be the usual up and down clubs though is it, although I think you are right about Forest. Could be anyone up to 14th really, makes for an entertaining end of season anyway!
  4. Next season will be much more challenging to get in the top six IMHO. We will be seeing bigger than usual teams coming down from the Premier League and similarly relatively big clubs coming up. Doesn’t mean we can’t compete of course but it’s going to be extremely competitive and arguably the biggest set of Championship clubs for a long time.
  5. Same day as the Coronation isn’t it? London won’t be that busy then! ?
  6. Indeed, what a night, what a team, what a manager, what a season!
  7. Agreed on Notts County, regular league opponents when I started going in the early 90s. In a similar vein Scunthorpe have just been relegated to National League North. Crazy for a club of that size, went up to the Championship with is in 2007!
  8. Great vlog from Ben Foster from the game, some good behind the scenes stuff:
  9. As was his interview with SL whilst on our record breaking losing run under LJ, and the famous “it’s my club” comment. Geoff had him (and Ashton to the point here) on toast and it was outstanding interviewing and radio. For someone who was a Gas player to have gained nigh on universal appreciation and respect from City fans is pretty unique and demonstrable of the man. He will be missed for sure. @Shtanley surely ‘a Cider With’ candidate now by way of sign off?
  10. Quarter finals first leg tonight. Whilst never a massive fan of two legged cup ties Man City vs Bayern should be good, although surely we should all be supporting @Olé’s other team against Inter Milan? ?? Couple of good ties tomorrow night too.
  11. As a couple have mentioned it’s Michael Appleton for me. There was a period of time when Ashton was here during the “rigorous process” post LJ that it was looking extremely likely he’d be appointed. Hopefully we are way, way past that now.
  12. I was hoping this kit was in the gold and blue shirt bin. ??
  13. No, not them, this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-65162917 Not a very good look at the best of times, but pretty awful when you’ve just lost to your biggest rivals.
  14. Completely agree, ridiculous having a rugby game the night before our game. Ideally they should have their own ground and this would never be an issue, but that’s not going to happen any time soon. Which does raise an interesting point; if we ever do become an established Premier League club, would we continue to have Bristol Bears play at Ashton Gate?
  15. Completely agree on all those!
  16. Few derbies in our division today, surprised to see Cardiff vs Swansea is 3pm on a Saturday!
  17. Anyone think him leaving could now be at risk in terms of medical etc? Guess it depends how bad this is. Either way I hope he gets back soon.
  18. Indeed, need competition for places after all.
  19. Haikin gone then! Time for @Shtanley to dust off his gloves!
  20. Our 0 - 3 loss is looking remarkably decent at the moment. Haaland could be the GOAT the way he’s going.
  21. One Team

    CL Draw

Be great to see them in the final Rob, would make a nice change from the usual clubs. I guess getting a ticket would be nigh on impossible?
  22. They are shocking, yet still a million times better than Downsey!
  23. Good double save from Max there. Hope we never see this bloody shirt again!
