  1. I THINK you are referring to Parson Street,MOST local train stations don't have many passengers after 09:00am till 4pm ish Monday to Friday

If you think of all the new train stations there are in Bristol area

Shirehampton park and ride Ashley down nearing completion along with Filton Abbey wood,Cam and Dursley as well as Yate

Some one thought it was a good idea to re-open them.

  2. I was in Southampton on Saturday for a football programme fair, mass's of passengers arriving at the same time.

Didn't realise that Take That were in concert at Saints ground.

So a favour to the younger element on here.

Take That are at Ashton Gate this coming weekend 8/9 June could I request if they(the younger element) would post on any music site to

buy there train tickets to Parson Street

Saying it avoids have to negotiate the ticket gates at Bristol Temple meads

    Thanks

  3. I bought at a boot sale the Topps sticker album (image enclosed)

It seems that panini have also brought out a five team only book

Found out that Marks and Spencer also have a book out as well

The book costs three pounds, none in stock a M and S at cribbs on Bank holiday monday

There is a small M and S at Yate and another M and S in Bath

You get a packet of Euro stickers if you make a 20 pound purchase on food, nothing to stop you asking for a packet if you don't spend 20 pounds on food items

Or if the person in front of you don't want them, ask if you can have the stickers

    Happy collecting

  4. The E29.90 euro train tickets ONLY VALID WITH A MATCH DAY TICKET

Question/s,the sight will allow you to book the E29.90 euro ticket, but who actually checks that you have a match day ticket to validate your E29.90 euro train fare?

Is it a question of the train ticket being inspected on the train and if you can't prove you have a match day ticket  is not valid and you would have to pay the full fare for the journey being made?

Are the fares valid if you have a match day ticket and travel to location of the match a day or two before the game takes place

  5. I recall there were some City fans in Australia who could not make it back to the U.K. to watch the final.

So they arranged for some one in the Bristol area to play the match commentary,

whilst having one of the phones that you could put on loud speaker and hear the audio down the line.

The cost of the phone calls back then(courtesy of BT) were in the range of one pound a minute off peak and one pound 25 pence peak

Even at peak rate that would cost approx 120 pounds

Still cheaper than flying here and back again

The evening post even had an article about how they listened to the game,

would any recall the date of the article in the evening post or even the said article in a paper cutting?

  6. The terrestrial broadcaster will ask EFL clubs to approve a proposed deal to show 20 matches on the channel next season
    May 24, 2024 5:00 pm(Updated 6:48 pm)
ITV is in talks with Sky Sports over a £15m deal to show up to 20 games from the Championship and the Carabao Cup, including the final, next season, i has learned.
It is understood that terrestrial broadcasters were approached to discuss a sub-licence after Sky sealed a five-year deal with the Football League (EFL) to show all its league and cup fixtures live.
That contract is worth a total of £935m to the EFL and will run until 2029, with Sky promising to broadcast more than half of all EFL games either on TV or via their new Sky Sports+ streaming platform.
However, i understands Sky are now looking to offset some of that cost, which will see more than 1,000 games shown per season, by agreeing a deal under which at least 19 matches from the EFL Cup and the Championship are shown simultaneously by a free-to-air broadcaster.
Preliminary conversations were had with Channel 4 and Channel 5, but ITV is understood to have produced the most attractive financial package, worth around £15m, with negotiations ongoing. ITV also has an existing relationship with the EFL as a highlights partner.
Subscription broadcasters such as Prime Video, TNT Sports and Dazn were not approached because of Sky’s desire to use it as an opportunity to give the Football League greater reach.
EFL clubs will be asked to vote on the basic terms of the deal next Thursday, after which – if approved – Sky will enter a formal period of contract negotiations with ITV.
A positive outcome is not guaranteed but insiders say almost everything is on the table, including first choice of matches, although not exclusivity: all games shown on ITV will be also be simulcast on Sky.
In its current form, the deal will include one match from each of the first four rounds with one additional match from the third or fourth, two quarter-finals, one of the semi-final and the final. ITV would have first choice of matches, and if two-legged semi-finals remain part of the format, that would amount to a total of 10 Carabao Cup matches along with 10 matches from the Championship.
ITV’s involvement comes just two months after they were reportedly frozen out of the FA Cup rights deal, with the BBC said to have taken over in a separate sub-licensing deal from TNT Sports.
