  1. on the Friday night of the weekend of 2/3/4/5 February This is the scheme where footy fans are urge not to use their cars etc to get to football match's, along with a host of other ides to reduce your carbon footprint
  2. Ask your self if there was top flight match between any of the clubs below the top six Would you prefer to watch that,or the choice of ten other teams that you will be playing against in the coming weeks. Like I have said in the past I prefer 12:30pm kicks
  3. Norn Iron I have never enjoyed American comedy shows,so I don't think I will be asking Alan Walsh if he has the latest DVD's
  4. RMT have called UNDERGROUND strikes starting on Friday 5th January. This should not effect the main line trains heading into London Paddington It could/might effect the journey from Paddington to Stratford. Not sure how easy it is to get across London using the bus or maybe a taxi ride The london based boys would have a better idea Its a ten mile, one hour duration if you go across London by taxi not sure of the cost though As i have stated if your going by train, get them reservations in early Don't forget there is extended journeys times as the trains are being diverted via Westbury(Wilts) and newbury
  5. A panel - introduced this season - is made up of five ex-players and coaches, as well as a representative from the EFL and refereeing body, the PGMOL. Saying officials get 85 per cent correct. Don't think they have attended any Bristol City games,as the "correct rate" would then fall below 50 per cent Me thinks its like marking your own homework
  6. next season? It seems that Sky have heard fans don't like to travel to away games on Fri/sat/sun/mon evenings when its live on sky. Rumor has it, is that the FIVE weekend live championship games to be screened live by sky will all kick off at 12:30pm on the saturday BT/TNT have the midday slot on Saturday, so maybe putting up five championship up against one premier game might swing the viewing figures towards Sky I don't make no bones about my liking for 12:30pm kick offs. Okay you will set off in the dark, to make those long winter trips, but at least you have two hours of daylight on the journey home
  7. Bryan Drysdale Trevor Tainton Alan Walsh Mike Gibson Gerry Sweeney Geoff Merrick Tom Ritchie Clive Whitehead Dave Rodgers Shadow Williams and Alan Dicks I saw most of them, although not sure if I actually saw all of them. a Q and A was also conducted by Jon Lansdown
  8. Couldn't you have just posted the link instead of posting the whole article and the "five-time promotion winner" "We’ve got an exciting, young, attacking group of players" nonsense? Stuff it, I am going back to the links instead then
  9. Hull City are delighted to announce that a deal has been agreed to sign vastly experienced striker Billy Sharp. The 37-year-old will officially join the club on 1 January on a contract until the end of the season. The prolific forward is the Championship’s all-time leading scorer with 130 goals for six different clubs, most notably boyhood side Sheffield United, where he won promotion to the Premier League last term. Making almost 400 appearances across three spells at Bramall Lane, he was a pivotal figure in the Blades’ rise from League One to the Premier League between 2016 and 2019. A five-time promotion winner, having reached the top flight with Southampton and the second tier with Scunthorpe United – both under former City boss Nigel Adkins – Sharp has netted over 250 career goals. The frontman most recently represented MLS side LA Galaxy, for whom he scored six times in 12 matches – his ninth club during two decades as a professional. Head coach Liam Rosenior said: “I’m so happy. It’s the ultimate no-brainer. “We’ve got an exciting, young, attacking group of players but what I found in my experience of promotion, and Billy has five, is that when you get to April and May, you need people who have been there, seen it and done it. “That can be on the pitch and off the pitch with words in the dressing room. Wherever Billy has been, he’s scored goals – and at crucial moments in games. “To bring in someone of his quality and experience is of huge benefit to the club.” Welcome, Billy!
  10. The country in 1923 had a democratic vote whether they wanted to adopt the Latin language or the Arabic language. The Latin language won the vote, not sure by how many votes though.
  11. and they want to have a joint bid of Euro 2032 with Italy.

  13. Down Town: Not sure why you have picked out me for criticism on just posting a link to a story when others have done something similar Regarding being retired,I think after working for fifty years I did expect to have some time on my hands after working all that time I suggest you put me on your ignore list, then you won't have to put up with my links stories any more.
  14. Ivorguy I presume you can Freeview channel 722 to listen to the radio commentary?
  15. What a horrible nasty thread. Shames us real football fans. Give the bloke credit for getting back into the game Don't shoot the messenger,I presume you will be at Watford on Boxing day?

  17. involving a NINETY year old mascot with Jon Stead the Barnsley assistant coach.
  18. Regarding the Elizabeth line in General its like a rocket, still think its worth it to travel paddington to stratford on the elizabeth line
  19. I don't think GWR will ever use their train sets and train crew to get from Bristol to Stratfor(or even Wembley When the other lot went to Wembley there was a football special to London Paddington, and they were supplied with a FREE ticket to and from Wembley. The stop blocks at Paddington: IF, repeat IF, a GWR train WAS to go to Stratford it would come off the main line at Southall then on a very slow crawl through central london to stratford Group save is available 2 for the price of three, get in quick as terms and conditions might change Please reserve your seats soon, like NOW this can tumble into thinking lots of people are travelling and we need to put on extra trains/coach's Refrain from booking with train line,in the event of a claim for any disruption, train line charge an admin fee,GWR does not Get your tickets issued from Parson Street, its the same price Make sure you get your lemonade crisps and chocky bars before you get to the station On arrival at Paddington head for the Elizabeth line through the arch way on platform one with a direct service to stratford
  20. Stratford station,NOT the international one Although a direct train would be difficult,a football special to London Paddington is possible. What would you pay?
  21. protest in central Bristol, loads of Christmas shoppers, not to mention the 3,000 Sunderland followers heading to BS3.
  22. Thanks to all that replied To recap: "odd texts" maybe a better word would have been occasional texts Customers sadly that's the way it is now Trains we were once called passengers Gas and Electric were once called consumers
