I wonder what reason he was given if it wasn’t results!

Really interesting points Allardyce makes about the confidentiality clause. Quite shocking that Pearson learned about the views and results on deconditioning via the interviews rather than anyone raising it before...
Shocking but not surprising you could say

Amazing that Pearson wasn’t told that he was sacked for results and he wasnt told about the fear the players were being de-conditioned. Shows what slime balls we have running this club

Football needs to keep growing and the only way to do that is to bow to the American dollar. More champions league games on a Saturday meaning more premier league midweek games is a double whammy to increase US viewing figures.
The community shield will be the first game that moves and it will then become the norm to move some Prem games

Or he stays with us , improves, and grabs the attention of bigger clubs than the Bournemouth’s of this world. We THEN sell , getting more than we would for a raw talent now , and he gets a fatter contract with a top club.
What the @@@@ is wrong with that, because if Tommy shines next season, playing in our first team as opposed to Bournemouth’s bench , they certainly will come to him.
There is a bigger picture out there for those willing to look up ️️
Nothing wrong with that from our point of view but doubt he will sign

Promotion is possible next season, not probable, but certainly possible.
Things can be both possible and highly unlikely!

So any of our players should just grab the first higher offer at the very first opportunity, or , perhaps , as a club we should stand for what is the right thing for us , show some ambition and leadership, and actually TRY to win something?
Using your analogy, I had an opportunity to change employer for a higher wage, decided that there was a real opportunity where I was , stayed, ended up an equity Partner, and that proved to be a very good decision. There is more to life than next week’s pay packet. And Bournemouth
The analogy doesn’t work as you obviously saw a path to success and the riches that come with it. If Conway stays they won’t come to him. There is no sign he will get promoted with us

Because by playing, and improving his profile he has every opportunity of getting a better offer from a bigger club. In other words, backing himself, and getting to eat his Mum’s dinners.
Well I know what I’d do if i was him, same as I moved employer last year for a pay rise and promotion. It’s a short career so can’t see him turning down more money elsewhere

Tommy Conway is a promising young player who has not yet fully reached his potential, it is surely in both Tommy’s and the Club’s interest for him to stay , in order to (a) have plenty of playing time, (b) boost his value and of course wage demands, (c) help the club to push for promotion, and increase the number and quality of potential suitors, (d) send a message to potential new signings that City are serious about promotion and are not simply a selling club treading water.
Sadly we had the same debate last year over Alex Scott, and I predicted we would have this debate this year over Tommy. Conway is a young Bristol lad, who’s family and friends I assume are all local to this area, City have made him a first team starter, and will, we know, release him if a big offer came in. Why then would he not wait another year to establish himself, help his home city club , and boost his value both personally and to the club. There is no need for City or Tommy to simply grab the first offer , you know it will be Bournemouth, that comes along.
Why would Tommy stay if someone is offering to pay, say, double what he is on now? Or even 50% more?
He can move, get a big pay rise AND boost his wage demands further still for his next contract

I’m sure the 3 teams that come down from the Premier League and a few of the top teams in this division that don’t go up will be interested in him. That would be a good step forward for him, a low fee for them and he’d probably double his wages. I would guess that teams like that are waiting to see what league they are in before offering him anything formal. There are bound to have been conversations.

Blokes website/profile looks a bit weird. No mention of qualifications and works a lot with celebs.
Doesn’t scream best in class with sport’s performance.
Worse than that, it says he’s methods are ‘very unique’. Things are either unique or they aren’t. They can’t be very unique. The club should be very wary!

Dunno if you saw/heard the interview that Dean Holden and his son Joey did with the BBC a few months ago, he'd just turned 16 and was playing for Oldham's youth team. Dean made the point that the academy system works for certain players, but definitely not for everyone, and they deliberately didn't put Joey into one because he wasn't physically ready at the time and the danger was that he'd have got lost in the system, not developed and be let go at 16 having lost his love for the game, as he'd seen happen to other kids in his time. Whereas he was able to carry on playing for local sides, socialise with his mates, concentrate properly on his education and be a normal teenager, and now he's making his way at Oldham.
A friend of mine has a kid who is 13. Incredibly good player but very small. He’s rejected 3 Prem Clubs and Bristol City so far. Very brave decision.

Has anyone had their child play in the JPL? It’s early days, but my son might get involved in it. Saturday matches instead of grassroots’ traditional Sunday is what I’m told.
Maybe the training and coaches approach might be different also?!
For those who have a son/daughter playing football in the JPL and may have previously been in grassroots, what experiences and opinions do you guys have as parents/carers?
Any comparisons between both the JPL and grassroots?
I’m new to all this as my son will be playing matches as he enters Year 2 from September and has played for a club since he was about 3 years old.
My son played for BIC. I found the parents to be a lot worse than Sunday morning football. They seemed to think their kids were going to make it. The coaching is much better though especially if they are training twice a week. Quick improvements but quite drill based which put my son off. The games do get scouted quite a lot by City, Rovers, FGR, Cheltenham, Cardiff.
Overall I’d say if your child just loves anything football then it’s great. If they just want to play matches in training then it’s not for them.
