Decent half. We pressed well and limited their chances. We're actually playing pretty well without creating quite as many chances as I'd like. Think FF and JBryan have been fantastic at the back. Brownhill has been everywhere and COD has been solid defensively. They seem to to have three out to either wing as soon as we put it wide so might be good to bring Leko inside a bit more - he'd either get some luck there or open the space up out wide for others. Fammy's having a tough game, so I'd get Woodrow/Taylor on early 2nd half. All in all not bad - COYR

Sums it up well. Maybe we'd be better in a 4-3-3 with 3 CM and the width coming from Joe a Pisano. Use one main Striker with two quicker players, (paterson, eliasson, ried, o'dowda, taylor) either side.

When you look at things stand, it may not have been an exciting half and or approach play was not good. But the score is level they are the team that has been running and pushing for 45 and our normal game is high pressing and quick 3-4 pass moves, which we didn't see this half. Whatever has or hasn't worked so far this season our is way higher than this and we don't normally play a possession game, yet we are dominating possession. I said earlier in the thread I think we'll start the 2nd at a much higher tempo.

We had better possession. They were chasing and pressing all over the pitch for 40 mins. In the last five of the half, they started to drop off more and we had a bit more space. We definitely played at a slower tempo than normal - we're passing backwards and sideways more and definitely not high pressing. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that is the plan today, let them tire themselves out chasing the ball and the up the tempo 2nd half when their legs are tired.

To be fair it shows we're either really good at defending corners or they really needed the practice.

Honestly, think we have, they're pressing hard all over the pitch and we're playing a much slower passing style, they can run that much for 90. I bet we start the 2nd half with the kind of tempo we normally start the 1st with.
