  1. He does play there for Iceland because of their lack of players. But he was signed by us to play CB. Thats where he started out playing. LJ said last season that was his only real position. When it became clear Flint wasn't going to leave we tried to loan him out because we clearly feel he is a CB not a LB. Its hard to see him getting much game time in that position at the moment but had flint gone he would have played there today. If you really feel he is a LB then I can understand the criticism, but I don't think the club do (and I don't). If we had played Flint at LB today and he had played exactly the same I don't think we would be criticising him.
  2. Exactly the kind of view I'm getting at. If you look back through any comments I've made about mags I no super fan in fact I'm normally quite critical. I'm not saying he has been amazing or that he hasn't played LB before but it's clearly not his position (and LJ pretty much said as much last season). And today he was fine defensively apart from that one moment. If you read what I wrote and think it's an unfair assessment of how he played then I think your not being balanced in your view of him. Most of what I actually wrote is about his faults.
  3. Spot on. Wednesday have 15 goals in 9 games at home and we didn't give them a single shot on target. They have only lost once at home (wolves I think?). And we have gone there got a point kept a clean sheets and possibly could have nicked it. We can't expect to go into a game like this a rip the opposition apart its just not going to happen.
  4. I think we're a bit hard on Mags. He clearly isn't a LB and is not at all confident in the role. He looked better today than the last game and all you can really ask is for progress. He didn't get forward enough and or offer an overlap but actually, apart from one mix up with FF, defensively he was decent. Bailey suffers the same issue in terms of going forward as Mags but people appreciate he is out of position and give him some leeway. + Mags's throws are a potent attacking weapon that cause a huge threat and have led to a couple of goals so far this seasons. There have definitely been games where we have forgiven Flint's shortcomings because he has scored or been a threat up front. Don't get me wrong I not saying he is at the level of Bailey or Flint but he is a player who is developing and has potential. When he is at CB he actually looks confident and relaxed on the ball so it's clear that playing LB affects that part of his game. I not saying he is amazing but I think some people have got into a mindset of looking for his faults instead of looking at him overall. At worst I'd say he is a useful squad player.
  5. Replay suggests not, overhits it and looks for the fall. Seen um given but it would have been harsh.
  6. I'd say a good half overall, particularly for an away performance. I would say mags has had a decent game (massive improvement from last LB outing!) but we have offered nothing in attack down that side. Mags tens to go long when he gets the ball and JB is holding back a bit too much I assume to offer Mags extra protection. Neither has played particularly badly just would like to see a bit more down that side rather than relying on COD for everything.
  7. One of my favorite moments was from one of their corners. One of their players was challenging Bobby for the ball and ended up on the floor. he immediately grabbed his leg to feign injury before clearly remembering they were 2-1 down and making an instant recovery.
  8. Cardiff forum before, during match: We're going away to one of the best teams in the league, we can't afford to start a luxury player like Tomlin, especially considering he was gassed after 60 minutes just 4 days ago. There is an electric atmosphere inside Ashton Gate Bristol City playing some nice stuff, most of it coming through No.10 Bobby Reid who is dropping between the lines. Bristol City look far more threatening in the final third of the pitch and deserved their early lead because of that extra cutting edge. Hoilett has been destroying their fullback for a bit, much better by City. Lets put it this way it wasn't good Bogle cost us the game the stupid ****
  9. Stupid early kick offs! It's 5am here do feeling pretty knackered.
  10. I hate when we try and sit back, we're never great at that. We defend much better when we are also attacking for some reason.
  11. Nearly get one back, great save by FF then rebound blazed over.
  12. Just got back from school run! missed the red. Was it deserved?
  13. Think we're just excellent, we haven't given them a second on the ball.one of the better passing sides in the league have resorted to let me balls or passing it amongst their back 4 trying to find space to pass/a free player to pass to. Every time they threaten to attack we've closed them off. I'd say it's us bussing the game rather than their poor play.
  14. That's more like the Korey we know shot from the left edge of the box ends as an excellent pass to COD on the right wing!
  15. It's like a home game! The way we're playing and the noise our fans are making!
  16. On the positive side having mags on when Djuric comes on 2 nd half turns every throw in in their half into a threat.
  17. If we have F9 then we also have a lot of bodies in midfield when necessary that hopefully results in more possession and more control of the game.
