  1. Commentary on BCTV not been bad great to have Bailey on there and he's given some good insight to preseason. Although I did have a chuckle when the other commentator said to him - "Baker and Webster with a chance to cement there places for the season."
  2. Yeah some sour comments on their forum already. Although this one made me laugh: Murphy charges the goalie down, goalie sees who it is, pitches up a tent, sets up a little gas burner, makes a cup of tea, has a game of solitaire, then picks the ball up with Murphy around 5 yards away.
  3. from the Plymouth forum: Vyner can play sadly those around him think they can too and it doesn't suit. What a thoroughly horrible club Bristol Rovers are, no-one likes loosing and the banter is part of the game. But when you have grown men and women trying to break the cordon, to fight Argyle fans just because they are losing, damn Neanderthals. I hope they get a large fine and a few score banning orders, you can stick your GAS where the sun don't shine you horrible lot.
  4. Reminded me of some of our early season games. Particularly at the back where it wasn't pretty but was actually pretty effective, especially given the players missing and losing Mags near the end. All in all a win and a clean sheet and some good home form to build from.
  5. Still think last week was a freak result. Won't be like that today.
  6. This sums up how ridiculous the overreaction is perfectly. There is no one on here happy clapping. Not one post saying 'wayhay great point today lads'. Or claiming we're strolling into the playoffs or that this was some performance for the ages. There is no happy clapping, simply people reacting to posts that are the opposite to that - Absymal, terrible, looked like the worst part of last season etc. Go and look at the threads that are prominent right now and there are Top 6 no chance, LJ what were you thinking, Shocking game management etc.
  7. Watching on ESPN end including replays and a close up of Pats complaining immediately after it happened. Possible there was another incident with Kent but if there was I missed it.
  8. It was Paterson was through in the box and running for the ball, the keeper got there first but Paterson was pulled back and slowed down.
  9. It was nothing like that. Their goal came out of nothing and we were immediately back in control of the game. Heads did not drop at that point and trying to compare this to performances last season is ridiculous. When they got the second then you could see some worried looks because they were in the game without doing anything. Then the momentum shifted as you would expect having given themselves a chance but even then we created more chances to put it to bed.
  10. Honestly, it's pretty gutting to draw that particularly given how in control we were. But they've been very lucky today, give them credit for not giving up, but they have been lucky. We had plenty of chances to go 4 up and 4-1 up and 4-2 up. They rarely looked like scoring bar a worldly from FF. They've needed two own goals to get the result. We looked uncharacteristically poor from set pieces/crosses but overall were the better team. It hasn't come off but on another day that same performance results in a rout. It's easy to overreact in the immediate aftermath of losing a three goal lead because it feels like a terrible defeat.
  11. Hope we keep a similar momentum up in the second half. Goal difference could be so important with how tight the league is and it would be easy to just relax and sit back second half.
  12. A good result, us Wolves and Ipswich are the only sides to stop Derby scoring at home this season. They also have 8 clean sheets in the last 11 going into this one (9 in 12 now). So a really good result without even considering current league standings, injuries etc.
  13. Will be an interesting team sheet today. Hard to predict as we have no idea of who's fit and how git after such a grueling schedule. Plus interesting who will be the GK on the bench. Also can Gustav be named in the squad? He should be fresher than most of our squad do could be useful if so.
  14. They actually have a match day thread for this game and fair play to a number of there fans for giving us credit. Link
  15. From elation to embarrassment - pack scores the players celebrate! The camera pans over to the bench and LJ - state of the hat and coat!
  16. To be fair some are more generous: We've been poor the last 3 games but that was one of our best performances this season. I want to make a special mention for Lundstram. I thought he was superb. He's had a lot of criticism for not magically being able to jump up a league and perform straight away. Duffy and Bash also superb. Stevens, better. I thought O'Connell was sloppy again but Stearman did well until he made a couple of misjudgements in the second half. I think Fleck lost his footing but it was definitely a red card. Two-footed (in the end), off the ground and no control. I also thought the ref had an excellent game. Kept it flowing wherever possible. Bristol City are one of the best teams I've seen. We were excellent and they were very good. We hit the post/woodwork 4 times but they restricted us, despite how well we played. We were exceptionally well organised and kept our shape well. They were fortunate to win in the end, but it shows how well we played with 10 men.
  17. From SU forum: the sky pundits and their insincere fickle nonsense at the end "this Bristol City side won't go away". Oh piss off! We've battered them. They've created sod all until we had a man sent off. We've outplayed them, then hit the woodwork 4 times. Smarmy ******* Lee Johnson Bristol City bastards with sky pundits rimming them. Not Browny and Andrews in the studio. Those insincere commentators. We were the much better side. They've not done owt to deserve to win this. Their substitutions were shite, Djuric is dire, Reid offered nothing and they can all **** off.
  18. Well lets give them O'neils he's not really using them anyway.
  19. Bowen for them now has 10 goals. He is only 20 (think he has had a few prem games too) might be one to keep an eye on if our clubs respective fortunes continue on the same trajectory.
  20. Thought we were pretty even 1st half and not actually playing too bad for an away game against a decent side. Our worst spell was after the first 5 mins of the second half up until the goal. then we gradually took control and the momentum really swung our way. Looking forward to @Olé's thread for a balanced view.
  21. I'm not sure it is watching the replay it looks like a point blank save that ricocheted onto the Hull lads head.
