I disagree with some of this, but that's not to say this is an excellent post,

We've had many managers over the last 20 years, we've had success we've had heartbreak, there has been on constant throughout,

The ownership, when you've changed everything and nothing seems to take you to that next level, then it's time to look at the ownership model,

Thinking purely in business terms, there is a monopoly at the club, monopolies are never a good thing in business,

If lansdown really wants to deliver success, the  he needs to leave the echo chamber, bring in new shareholders have more voices on the board,

Only when that happens will the club move forward,

As for manning, he is just lee johnson, the similarities are there for all too see, except johnson did a good job compared to manning

In fairness Lee Johnson was given about a billion pounds. And that’s my biggest fear here…

    Disagree.

His lack of flexibility is purely down to him.

Would be willing to back him if I saw some gears turning, some adjustments - we saw it with NP trying out multiple systems to find what suited the squad.

    He's just a crap manager.

I suppose I’d suggest they’re two different arguments. Mine being that it’s not really his fault that he’s been put in charge. I’m not saying he’s not a crap coach, just that he shouldn’t be here.

I have to say when he played for us looked very ordinary, I don't think anyone was too upset when we let him go. Hindsight's a wonderful thing!

Which of the 108 minutes he played did you think he looked poor in?

I was thinking exactly the same as the OP

He was never given a chance and I do remember the usual short sighted comments on here from a few saying he was nothing to write gone about, which of course you can tell from 30 seconds on the pitch (3 appearances in total)

At least someone in our organisation had the insight to get him on books but then the usual behaviour kicked in...

108 total minutes in the league. 🤦‍♂️

  5. Good job we never gave him a chance. Not a single ******* chance. Pretty sure he’d be our best player now.

Oh well… I guess, like Ayling, he can’t have been doing it in training.

Remember when we used to have one of the best defensive records in the league? Look so brittle now.

Been bailed out by a wonder header by Knight.

We were told when LM came in he wanted to instil patterns and behaviours to the team.

Do the same things over and over until it works. And looks like we've been found out again. Going to be a tough second half, gotta go for it.

Thrown away the high press and endeavour for something we just aren't and won't be. Going to have to change half the squad to play the fluffy possession football.

They are fighting for their lives and putting in what's required. Our season has been over for a while now. No way near the finished article.

When we play the basketball end-to-end high press football and put our opponents under pressure I enjoy watching it. But it seems that the head coach doesn't want us to play that way. He reverts to type with the patterns and behaviours and these are the performances we get. So flat.

Manning is a likeable guy but for me personally his football isn't.

Manning is a likeable guy? Now I’m not going to disagree per se, but he’s pretty low down the list of guys I’d consider likeable.

Nige was a likeable guy, Manning? I’m not so convinced… too robotic.

  7. Worth mentioning that when we win, things are all excellent and we’re on a playoff push.

When we don’t win, we’re stagnating mid table and the season’s over.

The truth is probably somewhere in between.

But no one wants sensible. We’re ******* going up!
