  1. Well, what an extraordinary and thoroughly enjoyable morning's cricket. 166/1 off 31 overs, a run rate of 5.35! From 242/7 to 408/8, with an additional 4 batting points. I am assuming a quick thrash after lunch, but even should Somerset declare now Leics. need 259 to avoid the follow-on. Additionally, it is difficult to envisage a Surrey win at Southampton with Hants already 368/9, shame about Surrey's third bowling point that came in the 107th over.
  2. Of course, and had he stayed in to make a century we would all have been praising a wonderful, farsighted management decision.
  3. Sure, but I just wonder whether it was the right decision today, at that stage of the match, on that pitch, in those conditions.
  4. Had they not squandered wickets after DC was out, they might have hed 300 by close of play. In what, in the context of the season, is very much a must win game?
  5. Hmmm. Now lost three wickets for 28, both Davies and Conway gone. Four down now. Here’s Tom Lammonby with a chance to start his season.
  6. Does anybody know why Lewis Goldsworthy came in at 3 ahead of James Hildreth? He's out now (for 3), but I was curious.
  7. In other news, Tom Banton has not been picked for England!
  8. Interestingly, the official site suggests play will start at 11H00 should there be no more rain.
  9. I must say that’s quite impressive. There is another loophole that pisses you off. You can’t recall what it is, but it should be closed anyway. Excellent ?.
  10. I saw that and just assumed it was referring obliquely to some previous message/article or perhaps an in-joke. And, Yes, I got the reference to skin, nose ?.
  11. Many years ago when I was in school, I used to run from Clifton to Failand via the suspension bridge most Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, very picturesque and, back in those days, quite calm traffic wise. I don't recall how long the run was, but it was certainly manageable - I used to do a games afternoon upon arrival, either rugby of cross country depending on the school term.
  12. I trust you consider your wrist well and truly smacked @TomF.
  13. I was a bit too late with my edit, but I wanted to add this, also courtesy of David Hopps: Goldsworthy rounded off the win with successive boundaries against Higgins, he finished with 43 not out from 28 balls, misleading stats which suggested there had been nothing to worry about.
  14. I know what you mean, but it is deceptive. LG's strike rate (for 39NO), was 144.44, whilst DC's (for 81 NO), was 124.61. As per. David Hopps: Conway's unbeaten 81 from 65 balls would not make much of a gaudy highlights reel, but his sensible shot selection and judicious tempo never wavered as he guided Somerset home with four balls to spare.
  15. Well, they were at least 10 runs short come the last over, but, as you say, had we needed to chase 180 from the start, I think we would have reached it quite comfortably.
  16. I've not been to The County Ground since I was a young boy. Can anybody let me know what the large impressive building is (looks like a hospital, or similar)?
  17. Or, keeping the ball on the ground, smashed it for four.
  18. Oh Yes, I wasn't paying attention. Comms aee now on, by the way.
  19. Bracey gone now - old LG can be quite frustrating, can't he? Where is the Glos SA/NZ player?
  20. Awful. I'm watching Glos. vs Somerset - there's no commentary there, either.
  21. Perhaps, but the reason he came home early from overseas was because he was sufferingly mentally from being confined to a bubble!
