  1. Of course, my mistake. Perhaps he is just negotiating to buy the memorial ground and letting Rovers have FG's old stadium in return. If I understand corectly, the Memorial Ground can't be sold until Rovers have a stadium in which to play, so this would solve Wael's problem. Obviously, pure speculation on my part, but I can't make sense of @bert tann's post if there is no idea of DV purchasing the Memorial Ground.
  2. Not S Glos, but aren't both The New Lawn (Nailsworth) and their planned, all wooden stadium both in Glos? Perhaps @bert tann erred when referring to S Glos - unless there is some truth in the rumour of Lyde Green....
  3. You otibists like a riddle so here is one which must be solved by March 31st. Date for submitting BRFC/Dwane Sports accounts. Caroline Lucas and her party appear to be popular, Green, i.e. Dale Vince/Forest Green especially with the young, but never seem to make any headway in creating a power base small FG crowds. Is this because our rulers, here and worldwide, have successfully outmaneuvered them by using front organisations to implement a "bread and circuses" Tents/Bristol Rovers strategy ? If so, it may explain why her royal exoticness Dale Vince might be planning to buy our tented sideshow Memorial Ground and keep the performances going while a verdant Green Lawn/Forest Green new big top Forest Green's new stadium is constructed in South Gloucestershire. But for Rovers, if this grand scheme falls through, the rare breed chickens will truly be coming home to roost. Dale Vince has plans to purchase Bristol Rovers and/or The Memorial Ground? Rovers to ground share with Forest Green in their new stadium or play in their old stadium once the new one has been completed?
  4. I see our old friend has been spouting again: Michael Vaughan is one of life’s great disappointments, and his latest madcap plan for England’s Test team continues the depressing fall from grace for the garlanded captain of the 2005 Ashes heroes. After years of shambling about, England’s Test top six finally looked the part for one whole match at Port Elizabeth. Vaughan’s plan, therefore, is to rip that all up and start again for no real reason, in the process simultaneously buggering about with the careers of England’s two most exciting young batting talents. Again, for no real reason. The plan, and typing it out only makes it seem even madder, is for Ollie Pope, having just made a stunning 135 not out at number six, to move up to number three because reasons. It’s great fodder for the Ian Bell comparisons, but really has little else going for it. The next part of the plan, though, is even madder. Having created a vacancy at number six – again, and we can’t stress this enough, for absolutely no reason whatsoever – Vaughan’s wheeze is for that spot to be filled by Tom Banton because if there’s one thing we’ve learned in the last year or so it’s that chucking white-ball superstars into England’s Test line-up always definitely works. To facilitate this move, Vaughan proposes Banton, who has been smashing it around in the BBL, has already played T20I cricket for England, and is currently approximately four million miles from the Test team, gives up his IPL gig in a T20 World Cup year in order to play county cricket in April and May when, famously, batting in the County Championship is always absolutely great fun and the runs flow like attention-seeking bullshit from a former England captain. Banton’s first-class average is 27 from 12 games with a high score of 79, but Vaughan – inevitably – sees a bit of Kevin Pietersen in him. “If I were in charge I would be on the phone this week to Tom Banton telling him to give up his IPL deal and play the first few weeks of the county season for Somerset because there is a slot available at No 6 in the Test side,” Vaughan writes in his Daily Telegraph column. “Ollie Pope is not going to stay there forever. He is going to move up. Root and Stokes are rock solid at four and five. Joe Denly has done OK but is OK good enough when you have a Pope at six who will clearly be England’s No 3 by the time they go to Australia again? “I have seen enough of Banton to know he is a superstar in the making. I’m not sure a stint in the IPL right now, when he might not get a lot of game time, is what he needs at this stage of his career. The IPL can wait. He has plenty of time to go to India. “He needs to play four-day cricket and score some early hundreds. If he does that I could see him batting at No 6 in the Test side this summer. It is possible.” We’re going to firmly nail our colours to the mast here: it is not possible.
  5. Both Dom Bess and Craig Overton called up by England for their South African tour - only support at present, but let's see what happens in the weeks to come.
  6. Correct, with the two upper limbs being 'arms' that form in to wings.
  7. I mentioned way back in this thread that 'Demand' is simply the French word for ask and bears none of the aggressive connotations the same word holds in the English language. I seem to recall also that I mentioned it is standard practice in France to formalise a request for payment, frequently by means of a 'recorded delivery' letter, thus simplifying any 'demand' for interest in the event of a delayed settlement.
  8. My apologies. The portion in inverted commas was intended to replace/emphasise the word 'that' in my original response, the 'reasonable, considered' bit relating clearly to the post itself. I responded that, 'I thought "the original post" was quite a reasonable, considered comment.'
  9. You posted: 'This moron over on Sagchat has summed up the thinking of their whole fanbase perfectly.' I responded that, 'I thought "the original post" was quite a reasonable, considered comment.' This was the original post on Gaschat: Think you are spot on with "Regardless of emotion, they really are a prem club in the waiting: Seems fair and reasonable to me. and I’m sure it will happen and SL knows that even one season there will change finances in the positive for them": Seems fair and reasonable to me. also last time when Windass became a Gas legend, they didn't have the infrastructure supporting them that they do now: Seems quite a fair, reasonable and considered comment to me, especially the bit about our lack of infrastructure - since rectified admirably. I am sure you can accept the bit about Dean Windass being a 'Gas Legend' was just the usual 'banter' between rival supporters, for you may recall that similar comments arose from this same forum when a certain Colin Daniel scored against Rovers: indeed, I seem to recall there were even suggestions the Mansfield 'legend' should be presented with a bottle of champagne to show our 'gratitude'. I would suggest that the Gaschat poster's view is anything but typical of their fanbase and forum.
  10. Hmmm. I thought that was quite a reasonable, considered comment.
  11. The poster, KP, is in fact seriously ill....
  12. Silently I slipped the condom over my erect penis and unrolled it down the entire length of my throbbing shaft, never once losing eye contact with the beautiful woman as she stared at me in wide eyed, jaw dropping disbelief ... Then, breaking the silence, I said ... "Yes, that seems to fit alright, I'll take the whole packet please".
  13. What a wonderful match. I am a Bath fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching that marvellous spectacle - and Well Done to the young lad, Lloyd, on his debut.
  14. Did I just see Jurgen Klopp in the crowd?
  15. I thought Bristol's winger, Protheroe?' looked young, but this latest replacement is astonishing. 18, did I hear? And he has just scored a try on his debut!
  16. Try this one. https://www.vipboxtv.se/stream-bristol-vs-bath-live-1
  17. A very entertaining first half. More of the same, please.
  18. I have just realised that Nathan Hughes is playing for Bristol. That is certainly a sign of how far they have progressed. And a very promising debut - a fine try.
  19. Nope. I just couldn't let it drop, could I, so I searched again and found the unblurred version. I don't know what to say, but I did find this 'amusing' comment: 'I refuse to be put off #pringles just because of #daniellelloyd . Though I will draw the line at dipping them in sour cream now...and once a month SALSA! Period! #WagathaChristie'
  20. I believe the investigation in to this is ongoing, but were Saracens also the club that employed players' wives and girlfriends on fantastic salaries for dubious administrative positions and the like?
  21. Precisely, which is one reason I am crossing my fingers for Friday evening. It does irk me - cricket is the same - that rugby teams seem to be almost penalised for their success. I know many of us on this forum like to knock Surrey (cricket), but they, along with Yorkshire, deserve some praise for performing well every season when it seems most of their squad are absent on international duty.
  22. And, thinking of Friday's match, don't Bath still have four or five players out in Japan?
  23. Coming soon. 'But it was only November....'
