  1. I know the match is on SKY, but I can't find a stream anywhere. Can anyody help?
  2. And he just gets worse - another wide.
  3. To be fair, bidefordgas is usually quite a sensible poster, and I suspect, indeed, am convinced his comments are sarcastic and intended to point out to his fellow forum members just how infantile and paranoid they are in suggesting their ground will be invaded by City fans.
  4. On that subject, what has happened to @Esmond Million's Bung? I haven't seen him post for ages. Is everything OK Es?
  5. Well, it must have been at least 40, even 45 years ago, and I wasn't far off!
  6. Indeed. Something along the lines of: Are there any Irish girls here? Any girls with a bit of Irish in them? Any girls want a bit of Irish in them?
  7. I first heard it uttered by Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy), who I met on several occasions in Corston - he was married to Leslie Crowther's daughter.
  8. Unless it is Cheltenham, following the 'allegedly' acrimonious departure of his father, Gary.
  9. Always sad to see Surrey lose, of course, but we could have done with Glos losing as well. We shall just have to make sure we do the double over Glos later. It looks as if tonight's game is now over - I shall be interested to see by how much our run rate improves.
  10. You mean like RvdM, who has just taken a blinding catch? Actually, I was quite despondent when Tom B was out early, confident when Babar got his Century and then nervous with the rain between innings. Oh, the relief when we managed to bowl the last ball of our fifth over. 59/6 (2 for Taylor ?) - surely all over now, and should improve the run rate sufficiently to move us up to 4th place (Qualifying).
  11. You are probably correct, but I am not sure DS/Hani or Wael, despite their connections, would have been able to obtain permission to stage such a show.
  12. Interesting, as England's current leading 'spinner/batsman' continues to struggle...and England have just lost the first Test!
  13. The quality of this thread appears to getting lower....
  14. Especially after a few rather suspect overs in the last two matches....
  15. Two, actually. Whilst he is only contracted for 20/20, Taylor is registered, meaning only one of Ali or Babar.
  16. Or just 18 runs.... Hmmm. Now only 17 runs required, BUT. Only one wicket left - 8 overs remaining.
  17. The way things are going currently, I should have thought just before lunch tomorrow - if you are still batting.
  18. Glos playing a bit like a typical Somerset side (of old). Firstly they allow Worcs a near 50 run last wicket stand, and they are now three down for 35 in their second innings.
  19. Both his wife and mother were deaf, hence his interest in speech and hearing - something I remember from my junior schooldays: I may be wrong - it was a long time ago - but I seem to recall that he refused to actually use the telephone. One thing that has always intrigued/amused me is that we often say 'I'll give him a call, or a 'bell': isn't it a lovely coincidence that the name of the telephone's inventor is so closely aligned with his actual invention? Alexander Graham Bell is not the only inventor to have his name incorporated in to everyday language: just think of Hoover and, of course, who could ever forget the famous English plumber, Thomas Crapper?
  20. I don't think there is any doubt that SD is the best keeper at Somerset, and also a competent 'red ball' batsman, but I don't think that is the problem. My understanding is that SD considers himself a strong 'white ball' keeper/batsman and, indeed, I thought that was the reason he (was) signed. I suspect that, if he doesn't appear in this season's T20, he will not be here next season. TB is now out, by the way - 64 off 34; quite a good debut....
  21. I wouldn't say that SD has been disappointing; certainly not in 'red ball' cricket, where he has proved extremely useful this season, but I had understood that his preference was for white ball: unfortunately (for SD), young TB has been an astonishing find this season - he is currently 47NO off 22 balls. He has just got his 50 - 53 off 25. I have only just heard that tonight is his first T20! I doubt it, not this season anyway. There are currently ahead of him, YTB, JB, Foakes and even the other Lion beginning with D (whose name escapes me at present.
  22. Indeed, hence my suspicion that Steve Davies may be off at the end of the season. Incidentally, are you able to obtain a live stream anywhere - apart from clips on Facebook?
  23. Ant the Somerset official site appears to be down.
