  1. I think it was more a strong suggestion; even a resigned, reluctant acceptance, but I don’t recall seeing any confirmation.
  2. Oh, I had assumed that team was an official team sheet. Was it not?
  3. I may be wrong, but I thought 'Nige' was keen on LW staying, but was unable to match Swansea's offer.
  4. Because he is recovering from minor wrist surgery.
  5. Do you think that Joe Davis looks a bit like Chris Kirchner ??
  6. Sorry to hear that Robbo. I hope the symptoms are not too serious, and you recover quickly.
  7. Obviously, I am pleased that both JR and YJB got their Centuries, but also slightly disappointed that Siraj was just two runs short of his - he really does come across as a nasty snarling man when things don't go his way.
  8. I hope he is there as well, but he is in danger of missing out on a Century if Root carries on in this form. Ah, @Port Said Red. Great minds and all that....
  9. To be fair (to the Club), there is something different between a quick, rushed ‘RIP Clive’, from fans who may never even have heard of heard of him before his demise, than a considered, meaningful message of condolence. I am sure the latter will appear shortly from the Club.
  10. Digressing totally, but I only found out a few days ago that your username relates to an old (very old) City player. I am quite (not very!) old myself, but confess I had never heard of him.
  11. Are you allowed to claim the extra half hour in Test Cricket ??
  12. Well Done Nostradamus. Just a few minutes ago, I was thinking 100 or so for 0 at Tea, and we might do this. I leave to make myself a sandwich and come back to see we are now three down with virtually no runs added since I left. To make things worse, I have just seen a replay of Lees' Run Out.
  13. Very magnanimous of you, although, as they say, Practice makes Perfect ?.
  14. Hmmm. A very useful one day player, but I am not sure how he will cope in First Class cricket on, presumably, green pitches in September. Didn't he struggle a bit when facing Broad?
  15. Carte Bleue or Carte Bancaire, e.g. VISA or Mastercard.
  16. Yorkshire, surely? Nope, Sorry, Derbyshire it would seem....
  17. That is so unfortunate. Previous best 99, and now 98.
  18. Our bakers, however, are more than happy to accept a CB for a simple baguette.
  19. JB has a 'colourful' past, but I don't think even he would stoop that low.
  20. I use local a local food market regularly, and the stall holders will not accept a card for purchases of less than 10€. Everybody understands and accepts the principle, the market thrives and everyone is happy.
  21. Regardless of the antics from both players, that was a thoroughly entertaining game of tennis. Nevertheless, I was amazed how many young (mainly) men/boys seemed to be almost constantly on their moblie phones during play.
