  1. We’ve got Martin, Super Chris Martin, I just don’t think you understand, He used to be shite, Now he’s alright, We’ve got Super Chris Martin!
  2. This is really well written. And exactly what some still need to understand. ?? ?? ??
  3. Watched the game with my brother and was explaining to him that Semenyo will be awesome when it clicks into place for him, whenever that will be and whatever “it” is. His response was 2 goals in 60 games. I stood by my initial comment. On another day he would have scored two, that dummy-shot/ mid-air Cruyff turn-volley thing he did which their keeper saved well at the near post, was class. Then he missed a tap-in a couple of minutes later which brushed past two defenders before he saw it late, may have gone in if he had another like it. I felt some sort of optimism or expectation whenever he picked up the ball today, like something positive was going to happen. I think his pace and strength make him electrifying to watch. He chased everything down and got cramp which suggests he ran more than he should have. I’m also enjoying his link up play with COD. If we can afford to keep giving him chances I think we should rather than waste the 60 games we’ve already given him. If he does turn into a goal machine it will save us a fortune in the long run.
  4. I’ve not seen us play with that kind of passion and desire for a long, long time. Credit must go to the coaching for that. Play like that for the rest of the season and we will be ok. QPR deserved nothing, my only criticism would be defending on the corner that led to the winner. But it was blatant hand-ball in the play that led up to it. To play like we did with 10 men, against 12, I’m not disappointed and will not go into melt down. Players can hold their head high and go again. We’ve had a glimpse of what we can do without Martin and I like it. My only concern is that we are running out of games that we can just write-off. But that shouldn’t over-shadow today’s performance, in which players gave it all. That’s all we ask for. Up the ****ing City.
  5. For those not wanting to trawl through 11 pages I found this thread useful.
  6. If you do get hold of him ask him if he can fill in for Williams/James until one of them gets fit. We could do with a midfield #4 like him right now. Great player, fearless, saw him put his head on the line several times for us, probably one of the most committed I’ve ever seen wear the shirt. One of those that deserved to wear it week in, week out.
  7. Ridiculous time for a KO to be honest. Sheffield did well there.
  8. The man needs time. He has said this himself from the off but he could be a victim of his own transition like o’Driscoll was. I can’t accept that this is as bad as the odriscoll/McKinnes days though. Pearson has proved with the likes of HNM, Tanner, Pring, Atkinson and dare I say it, Vardy, that he’s more qualified mot nurture talented players. Seeing some people compare this to the McKinnes days is a hasty reaction after a very poor performance. Comparing this to the Foster/Pearson days seems wrong. The thought of those two in our team now sends shivers down my spine and not in a good way. I do have a slight issue with him playing Martin week in week out and I will be interested to see if that continues when Semenyo and Conway are fit again. But others have said Martin is our best striker and it’s the creativity from midfield and the wings that we lack. I’m happy to accept that but I want to see what Pearson can do with another summer transfer window to fill those gaps, because if the players I listed above are anything to go by, there are reasons to be optimistic. Lets also not forget that he’s still implementing his own back-room staff and clearing up the left-overs from LJ and DH. Credit to all that stick with us and will get behind us on Saturday. Fond memories of the Ricoh and a couple of trips we had up there with GJ, Byfield getting a brace iirc. Despite their form, no reason why we can bounce back and get something from the game.
  9. I thought Wells and Weimann linked up well during QPR and Barnsley games. “That” QPR goal was a telepathic assist by Weimann. Martin offers very little as far as I can see but I’m no expert and have been watching via Robins tv as (fortunately) I’ve not been able to attend. At this stage it has to be worth trying something else i.e. don’t start Martin.
  10. I also find this interesting. I imagine the council will try and squeeze every last penny out of this development, but you never know. We got our new stadium in the end didn’t we. The height might be ok when you think of the precedent the council has recently set including the height of the Lansdown stand and that development near bemmy train station. I think I read that got the green light? I think it will depend ultimately on what it does to the skyline from various viewpoints. We must have one or two planners in our fan base who are itk...
  11. Makes good business sense, any money will be profit. Baldock and Taylor can do a job. Baldock will be a different player with jet gone. Burnsy can step up to the plate too. Make no mistake about it mind if sod goes begging to lansdown to keep him he'll fund it but I genuinely think we don't need him I think going forward we can be a threat without jet. As much as I'll miss him. Spend the money on Osbourne if he plays like he did Tues every game. We get a mil+ that would tick all the boxes for me
