  1. Need something from this game, or for fellow strugglers to collapse (Reading doing is no favours; hope they either miss out on or get murdered in the playoffs). Throw the kitchen sink at them. COYR!
  2. Hope we go for it today; after Brighton's result last night, we'll be up against it next Saturday evening, and don't want to head into that game needing something. COYR
  3. Indeed, though again it was their owners were the ones who made that call, and few fans I'm aware of would have agreed. If nothing else, if shows that the decisions of those in charge doesn't always benefit the playing side of the club. But right now, we need to just make sure we get over the safety line; summer is the time I hope our own owners think about the quality of their decision making regards the choice of manager.
  4. TBF calls for Johnson to go are centred around him leading us into a relegation scrap and on a record losing run; if we'd sacked him when level on points with sixth place, of course it would have been stupid. The Rowett/Zola swap bares no resemblance to a form-based firing: that's is a 'new broom' situation where the money-men want their boy in.
  5. At this point, even a point next week means Blackburn HAVE to win to realistically push us to the last day. I'm certainly not complacent; a win next week should be the aim, as would make it very hard for anyone to catch us. But we held on today, and always have Birmingham at home last day in our pocket, and I'd take us versus them last day to stay up if offered now.
  6. Think Birmingham's run in shades Forest's in being the tougher of the two - the fact they need to come here last game is a double edged sword, as we might be safe, but also might need something, and they are in abysmal form. Praying Brighton grab the title next Friday so our game there is a celebration for them; might be able to catch them on their heels.
  7. Bloody hell; haven't breathed in about five mins. Held on, and with the way results have gone, that is a solid point. Shame we couldn't take more chances, but if we are down the bottom for a reason, and that is one of them. Three games to go, four points from safety with only nine to win for those in the drop zone, and two matches at home where we're got an excellent recent record. Pleased with that; have a nice Easter Monday evening everyone!
  8. They'll go for it now; hope we can catch them on the break and get another.
  9. Doesn't matter what level, those are great numbers. With Plymouth looking to be League One next year, might be a good destination for him to develop, or we could even see if he steps up in preseason and could get a handful of Championship games for us.
  10. Looking bleak for Birmingham; have to play Villa away and Huddersfield at home before th visit us - would suggest that is not a pair of fixtures they'll be looking forward to. Need to hold on here today; would leave one or two others in tougher spots than ourselves.
  11. Agree; second half will be tense as. Equally; you're right in that we'd basically be safe with a seven point gap, as our goal difference is good, but would prefer it gets made 100% safe before Brum at home!
  12. Snapshot of the league table at half time looks really, really good for us; praying we can hold on, other results stay similar, and perhaps Cardiff get a winner against Forest (feel dirty saying that, but needs must). Would be fantastic if we needed two points from three games to make it mathematical certain we'd stay up, and if results stay as they are, Birmingham are in deep trouble...
  13. Credit where it's due; no changes despite the quick turn around - if that the first time this season LJ has done that? He could has argued that players would have tired, but has stuck with it, which I think is wise. Still think a point would be a solid result as Blackburn will be up for it. Have strange feeling Taylor will notch a goal today too; no idea why!
  14. Decent run of home wins has set up precisely what you outline. Other results will be interesting today for us too; things could look a lot clearer Either way at 5 o'clock, i.e. a fair bit of work to do still, or relatively easy going final three.
  15. Aye. Same set up again, I hope. This first eleven has a good balance, and we've nothing to gain through disrupting it. Cautiously optimistic now we'll stay clear of danger.
  16. Pleased with that. Think QPR offered even less than Wolves, and we played better across the full 90 than against the latter too. We clearly went into energy conservation mode after about 70 mins, but that's okay; big game Monday to think about. 18th as it stands - thank you, Rotherham, for the late equaliser and pulling Brum right into the relegation fight. Would take a draw on Monday now; think we might need another win, but now Birmingham have slipped into the mire, that might be a good opportunity to seal it.
  17. Can't be too often a team lines up for a home match having won the last one of those by four unanswered goals, yet also having lost their last game by a similar number! Elsewhere today Blackburn host Barnsley, Burton welcome Villa, and Forest have Huddersfield to visit - I worry that all three of those game represent better opportunities for points or wins for our rivals, while an absolutely flying Wolves team will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing us. However, maybe a very bad loss at Preston might have restored some professional pride (or the refund to the fans made them crave another win bonus, at least), and I'm hoping it'll liven things up. COYR!
  18. Well, Saturday should be interesting. Wolves now basically safe, and on a five match winning run. Gonna be a tough one. More fool me for the fact I'll be taking along a mate of mine who's just moved to Bristol to try and convert him to the cause. Could put him off football, let alone City, for life...
