  1. As cruel as it sounds; even if we still end up going down, I hope LJ gets the boot now - him getting fired would make up for the humiliation we've suffered this season.
  2. A couple of 'City rejects' showing us how it is done tonight too. How is it we sign players and they immediately become less effective, a la Bailey Wright? Preston must be laughing all the way to the bank; just look at their goal scorers - how many did they even pay fees for, or sign from a higher level? We started with a midfielder we signed from a team who were third in the German top league; Preston's first goal scorer was a free from Morecambe.
  3. Well, that's our decent goal difference bleeding away. Terrible week, and looks like Wolves will arrive at Ashton Gate on the back of five wins on the trot...
  4. This horse chat is quite entertaining. I fear the game won't live up to it...
  5. Well, I'm less than confident in anything but a stuffing, but we need something from games against mid table teams if we're going to make any kind of fist of staying up. COYR!
  6. Hope so. Worried this might be another 'false dawn' like Rotherham. Huddersfield will be a sterner test. Enjoy the rest of your season; only wish we could have such a stress-free run in as your own.
  7. Wolves and Blackburn play their games in hand (well, Wolves play one of them) on Tuesday; big night for us, even though we don't play. If those two get anything, it won't be good for us, but will certainly also pull Forest back into the muck.
  8. Thank. Christ. Despite the downplaying all week, this was a dictionary definition 'must win', and though it sounds like it was a absolute dog's dinner of a performance, three point is three points. Table looks a fair bit better now than it did at half time...
  9. At half time, the table makes grim reading. Considering Norwich have to last 45 mins with ten men and not concede, and that they didn't last that against a team as bad as us with eleven, it could get grimmer unless we get more than a measly point from this game.
  10. FFS indeed. If Blackburn get anything from that game, then we really need to win this one.
  11. O'Dowda dropped for Tomlin. Korey Smith at right back. Djuric not in the squad.
  12. Terrible set of fixtures for us today if we can do no better than a point; Burton host Forest (draw is rubbish if we can't get three points; either winning is a problem too), Blackburn head to Norwich (the former in decent form, the latter now managerless and apparently sporting a divided dressing room) and Wolves have a visit from Rotherham (so I would suggest a home banker there). Another weekend where anything other than a win is unlikely to help us at all. Just hope the players know that (not bothered about the coaching staff; they are just an unfortunate complication now). COYR
  13. A freshly hammered team? At home? Sounds like the ideal match for a new head coach to use to run the rule over his squad. That said; don't expect anything to change on that front - imagine Norwich will come here wanting to correct that result, and being we tend to be accommodating on the front, think the Canaries will give us a hiding.
  14. This lad on the radio (Joe?) seems pretty happy with the point. Nice to know someone is happy being bottom three. I'm not.
  15. And they missed an open goal. Forget the minutiae of individual games; we're here after LJ has had two windows, significant investment, plenty of time with the current squad, and all the rest. We are now in the bottom three; I don't believe that if we cannot beat Burton at home (after we beat them away first part of the season, as we did Villa, Leeds and Fulham too) at this point, then we are unlikely to get the wins we need to get out of it. As I've said; we might go down with someone else in as head coach, but I believe we are more likely to than not with LJ in charge.
  16. Nil nil. Please, LJ; explain how one win in half a season, and our pirouette into the relegation zone represents any kind of process - we beat four of our last five opponents in the first half of the season, which suggests something has gone wrong since, and all on your watch. LJ out. Now. We might still go down without him, but I am now convinced we'll go down with him.
  17. So by your logic, Tomlin missing a pen is evidence of LJ's ability to save us from the drop? Bizarre.
  18. Other than Djuric's header, have we had a shot on target this half? (I'm aware the pen was not a shot on target)
  19. Yep. Same with QPR and Brum. Burton, Wolves, Blackburn, Wigan; they are the teams we need to worry on, and we're failing to beat one of these at home as it stands...
  20. Wolves picking up a point, Rotherham doing the same, Blackburn going above us, Forest beating Brighton at home - only good news is Wigan losing, and that means Blackburn are winning. Draw does absolutely nothing for us at all.
  21. Djuric gets a shot/header on target. 20 mins to go. This is torture.
