We cant do it tuesday
Ah ok, gotta be pretty much a given they will be the other auto side...
If you had to pick from the run-ins for MK, Preston and Swindon you'd be made not to take Preston's every time.
-
With the MK result, I'm not surprised Preston fans are as happy as us with a point; three of their last five games are against relegation-threatened teams, so they'll likely be confident they can keep ahead of MK now.
Very decent result all round; expect to see them in the Championship next year too.

Edit - wrong info; thanks, SSN

If BBC stats are to be believed; no shots for MK Dons against Port Vale - odd...

Bit off topic but looking at the bottom end of the table a lot of teams are playing each other. Each change of score juggles the positions.
Back on topic - sounds close but we're doing well. Atmosphere sounds great.
If Yeovil hang on and win, Orient beat Crewe, and other results stay the same, then the Glovers might actually stand half a (slim) chance.
-
But but but Sheffield United still look dangerous
Looking at it; wonder what odds you'd get on them not even making the playoffs right now?
If I was Fleetwood or Rochdale's manager right now, I'd be pointing at the Sheffield United scoreline as motivation to my players to go out and get three points.
Just four wins in their ten before today; lose this, and they'd be on just 15 points from a possible 30 - grim.
-
#BristolCity v Preston: Fielding; Tavernier, Ayling, Flint, Williams, Bryan; K.Smith, Pack, Freeman; Agard, Wilbraham.
subs: Richards, Cunningham, Osborne, Saville, Elliott, Wagstaff, Emmanuel-Thomas.
If it ain't broke!
-
overdue for Agard to come good, maybe today... tough on Jet to be omitted again though
Agard got the winner against Oldham at home, didn't he?
What odds a repeat of the result & goal scorer?
-
Just throw on all our attacking options for the 2nd half and go for broke; rather lose 5-3 trying to get back into it than splutter out.
(Only partially joking there...)
-
If we get a point or win here, surely performance of the season?
-
Agree with this.Squad rotation. Keeping him fresh for a (on paper) sterner test Tuesday night
If Taviner was going to start one of the two games, I'd have picked this one.
Hope JET takes them apart; good idea to rest him Tuesday, but with Agard finding his scoring touch again, should be good motivation for him to perform.

Agreed. More points we can get on board before April the better. We have 6 top ten sides left to play - five of them in April. Would take 4 against Colchester and Donny.
Ditto - April could be brutal.
Life is life
And home form is home form - and Colchester's is crap.

Annoying in a way that MK won, but does further underline Colchester's awful home form; 7 lost out of the last 8 league games.
I'd suggest that when you look at the teams who've gone there and got maximum points, we really must be aiming for three on the weekend.
-
As things stand, its now 16 pts, and they have a game in hand, but even so..
8 to go here, 2-0 up, game as flat as a pancake, and I am still tense! Come on boys!
True, but the fact they are what works out as five wins and a draw in terms of points behind us is slightly mind-boggling.
-
As it stands we are 18 points clear of Sheff Utd in 5th. Who are 18 points above Yeovil, who are bottom.
Sheff Utd go 2-1 up.
Come on, no dramas, lets just see this one out.
Was nice to read these two posts together.
Puts in to perspective our loss to Sheffield United; it wasn't great, but they currently present a pretty distant 'threat' to our league position.
-
They've not scored more than twice in any game since October, while we've the best defensive record in the league, and while that probably means we're set up for 6 all, what I do think it means for us is; forget caution.
Am thinking 3-1, with it not being a classic in terms of quality, but not lacking commitment, most importantly from our lot.
Also got the strange feeling Flint will score, Freeman will assist more than one, and that their goal will be an own goal.
But then I've had too much caffeine today.
-
Well, shit.
Couldn't follow the game at all today, then see this...
But also see our closest contenders also both lost, and as someone else has mentioned; one less game, still top, still a chance to pull away.
Could have been much, much worse.
Get 'em back in tomorrow; get 'em working hard; make sure the team bounce back on Tuesday.
Disappointed, but in a way puts more pressure on MK and Swindon than us, thanks to Preston winning. And if we win the next game, we're still in a cracking position.

Edit - realise Preston didn't play: my bad. Still not bad
-
Excellent result; maintains our position, gives us a platform to extend our lead, and on keeping the easily one of the division's most potent attacking sides out, shows we've no need to fear anyone.
On to Port Vale, and with this team I've no fear of an'after The Lord mayor's show performance.

Thought you were done here?Truth hurts sometimes...cheers
Too many pointless wind up merchants on this place; was hoping we'd be looking at one less.
Shame.
-
Good; won't miss you.Because i get fed up of reading comments on here with so many convenient overtsights.
And don't worry mate, i am near to packing in looking and commenting on this forum...too many cliques i'm afraid.
And nice work trying to pass off your trolling as a public service; pathetic.
Bye bye.
-
Yeah, you're right; we shouldn't have scored that. We realty should give them that goal back, shouldn't we?Following a definate foul by freeman.
What's your point anyway? You play to the whistle, as Freeman did; you don't wait for permission.
Some people on here need their heads sorting out; always desperate to be negative or sniping at folks for no reason.
Get lost.
-
Such an excellent move for the 2nd goal; hopefully the rest time both players got, coupled with the boost they'll have had from being involved in that will see them right up for the MK game.
-
At least they're on the bench.
Perhaps this will free up Elliot from breaking up play and give him more licence to range forward like he did last year.
Can understand after the exertions of the last month that some players need rests.

Gillingham are a tough bunch, but think 7 points from those and you'll be beyond MK.
Just be a case then as to who'll be following us, and I still fancy Rochdale to sneak in and surprise everyone...
