That Wayne Rooney said to him  (NP) after the Derby game that our front three were as good as any in this league…. And that where he’s come from  (Rooney) he should know….

Yet before the season  started NP was hearing we should have new striker etc etc.

Wonder if that view is shared, I would be delighted if all three stayed fit and start next season, if we have Wells as well we might not be far off being very decent if our frailties  in defending are resolved..

    I would too.

However, Chris Martin will be 34 this year. We will just need to be careful with him I think.

In an ideal world I would shift Nahki, get a decent enough replacement on much lower wages. Then rotate between Martin, Andi, AS and new striker.

Then the likes of Conway in behind when required.

Indeed. It would be an interesting comparison to show what we were taking away in the 07/08 season when we obviously got to the play-off final and led the Championship for many weeks..

Every away game i seemed to go to that season we had sold out so I’d imagine we were averaging close to 2k every away game? Would be interesting if anyone has the data on that season’s away attendance's..

It was also our first season back in the Champ for some years. We were always going to take a few away each game, just a nice surprise of how well that season went!

  3. These ‘great sides’ considering how wonderful they are, they can’t defend. I guess it’s bad habits as they’re used to being in the opposition half for the majority of the game.

But soon as these teams come up against eachother, it’s a goal fest.

    Fun for the neutral.

My problem with Downsy is the hyping up of everything all the time. I don't need to be reminded that I am there to see the boys in red, I don't need to be told that the kickoff is coming up next, I don't need to be told that my 'heroes' are in the tunnel and will be out soon, I don't need to be told who we are playing. All of it in an over excited voice. Also, please stop telling us we are special fans in some way. We are not.

The replacement on Monday was a lot more measured and a damn sight better for it.

Especially with how terrible we’ve been at home for god knows how long. It’s very annoying hearing all that when you know what’s coming…

Went to Milk Bun earlier in the week, up in Clifton village.

Burger joint whose USP is that they are the only place in Bristol who make and bake their own buns from scratch. The hard work pays off as the burgers taste superb with big fluffy sesame seed buns and lovely patties. Also, kicked things off with a perfect negroni.

Highly recommended and will be going back to try more of the menu.

I went there last summer and it was stunning! It’s not very big in there but if you’re up and around Clifton and fancy stopping by for a quick bite, it’s perfect.

Hub Box on Whiteladies is quite nice too if you’re a burger lover like me!

  6. Let’s be fair, for those that have renewed, they have gone for the experience of the day of watching City. It’s tough, never easy but it’s your team at the end of the day….

I admire anybody paying to watch the struggles…
