Back now to usual otib divide. Realists v Blind Optimists

So that's the only options? Don't think i'm in one of those camps.

Certainly not a happy clapper, things not going well Lee always talks a good game but a defeat sat against Preston puts us under real pressure.

I don't think for one minute that he's under pressure as far as his job goes.

But a win is so needed the early season hope is well and truly gone.

The faithful are truly starting to loose faith.

Maybe the next signing shouldn't be he's young has a good personality , maybe it should be sign the guy if he gets three shots at goal and gets one on target !!

I'll come back on this again - you say being a work in progress is "an excuse for a team that lacks quality" - I agree with that, and it's valid excuse. We do lack quality, and that's because you can't transform a League One side into a Championship promotion-chasing side overnight. Compare the side we have now to the one that went up a couple of years ago, and man-for-man its superior. But it still doesn't have the quality to compete at the top end of the division. So we're somewhere between the two, hence why I use the term "work in progress". If that makes me a happy clapper then so be it.

Ok  quite a few teams have come from league 1 to be promotion chasing team (us being one) And one or two have gone straight through the divisions.

I don't think you can come out with this judgement about our progress until the seasons ended.

I for one was excited with all our young signings and that performance from Hudds today was what I hoping the likes of Brownhill,O'Dowda,Paterson  could produce down the gate.

At the time we look a million miles away. my worry is we always seem to have all these players for tomorrow and as we know it never seems to come!!!

    Hope your optimism wins!!!!!!!

    Bottom half League One.

    League One winners

    18th in Championship

    13th in Championship.

If that isn't progress I don't know what is. I'm not exactly sure what it is you are expecting to happen overnight.

Let's see where we finish to know if weve made progress or not.

Two big home games now really need at least 4 points.

Today we certainly looked like a side nearer the bottom than the top.

    That was fun!

We ran them out the East End in the far corner where the only escape was to climb the fence with plenty more city boys waiting for them to drop down from the fence.

I can still see the Millwall faces as they thought it would be an easy day...

If this was the same year I seem to remember there was a scouting party of Millwall fans already in the East End many with white butchers type coats on. They were quickly dispatched when the main City mob turned up on mass. Think we had a small fire in the East End with some of the aforementioned coats!!

A while late the main mob of Millwall entered the East End and all hell broke loose. I remember getting knocked to the ground and my mate dragging me up before I got trampled.

Was 15 at the time so memory may be a bit blurred but they must have been booted out as we still watched the game from somewhere near the middle of the East End!!!!!

Indeed, far too easy, if well taken by Hamill - who let's remember turned us down in the summer.

Forgetting  Abraham for a minute, don't you think this young squad can only improve next season?

And that's without whoever we bring in January and the next pre season.

Going by the signings this summer can only see us having a stronger squad next season.

So when was the last time they had over 20,000 for a home league match that wasn't against us?

They did have a crowd of 26,574 for a forth round F.A Cup game against Southampton in Jan 78.

Think only 17 turned up from Southampton, so a good turnout from the Gash!!!

    Translation please.

Meaning I'm more confident of beating a struggling Blackburn side that have won tonight, than I was of beating Cardiff or QPR with both teams being due a win.

Cardiff for reasons we all know was going to be difficult.

QPR not won at home since the first game of the season meant sooner rather than later they were going to beat somebody (us)

Blackburn have been shit all season, so them coming to us Saturday and not as desperate as they were will somehow hopefully work in our favour.

We will get more wins now under Warnock and suppose you know the feeling considering you've had years of being dross?

Look were pissed off  losing to the poorest Cardiff team weve played in years.

you have had your little piss take, now F... off and do one.

Feel free to come back when we f..... destroy you at the Gate later in the season and have your say.

  9. For me when the ball is knocked to Freeman at pace he fails to make it stick. Turning another attack into another midfield battle yo win the ball.

Saying that Jo had a mare very rarely getting outside of Freeman.

I would have brought Golborne on half time and pushed Bryan up to replace Freeman. He's stronger and by far a better crosser of a ball than Luke. Maybe then Tammy might have had something to attack.

As for the other wing, well you know if Little is on the overlap there is no chance of any quality crosses coming in.

Was it that many ? I thought the rest of the ground was "under subscribed". Our end was totally rammed and it was sweltering hot !

Just looked it up 17,918 at the gate in August, 26,430 down there at Easter.

Shows what a big attraction we were to them even back then!!

Real sorry, but I just realised that I missed  Rovers Ruby Double Digit Thousand Average Attendance Anniversary. For it was the season of 1975-1976 when they last passed the 10,000 mark with a massive 10,022.......perhaps it was a misprint!!!

And they only reached that figure by selling out against us!!!!
