  1. Disappointed to see the Wigan players shaking hands with him at the end, he wouldn't be getting that from me.
  2. Bruno Fernandez is a shocking waste of talent with a vacuum where his moral fibre should be. The fact that he feels the need to go down like that against a team two divisions below them, sums him up. The fact that Man United have a player like that as a captain, sums them up as a club.
  3. All they will be concerned about is taking more there than we took to West Ham....
  4. For those of an age where they didn't get to see him play, Keegan was all action, everywhere. Probably could be considered the first "10" playing off Toshack in particular, but also others. He seemed to be able to run all day.
  5. Well luckily we haven't needed many performances like that from him, it's rare that any keeper has to make multiple saves above the ordinary. I think his actual keeping has improved immeasurably, he looks more confident and that transmits to the defenders. As I have said before, straight from the horses mouth, the defenders like him, they know what to expect with regards to sitting or coming for a ball, which he rarely gets wrong. He has pulled off some extremely good saves in the last few games and his distribution has gone up a level too, which has increased his own and everyone else's confidence. So I'll go with Shay Given's opinion as I think he has better understanding of what makes a good goalkeeper than anyone on here, including me.
  6. Surely his starting position is predicated on the position of the defenders, the defence was deep so he stayed back. Of he had been much further forward he would have been too close to his defenders and Bowen would have run behind all of them. I am working on this assumption as normally his starting position is very high and he is very good at sweeping up along the edge of the box.
  7. I suppose it depends what the definition of a "full session" is, does he mean full scale matches with all players present? There is a lot of other work shown on the Uncut videos, on specifics which would eat into the time available.
  8. Yes we all know why you would have him back M.
  9. The FA Cup game before that was a great following too. We got there quite early, and in those days their away end was segmented by fencing. We were in the first "wedge" but as people arrived they kept opening up wedge after wedge until it was full. When Paul Mardon scored, we realised that the enclosures on both sides were about half City supporters too.
  10. 9 full training sessions puts a bit of perspective on suggestions that he has been here long enough to make real changes.
  11. No. I am retired. It's bad enough having my wife organising my life, I don't need a Manager as well.
  12. O'Shea praising him to the heavens on MotD just now.
  13. Just watching those highlights, Conway's goal seemed a lot faster than I remembered. It felt like it took an age for him to get a shot away.
  14. It certainly felt like that many walking back to the station.
  15. Well a West Ham fan* I was speaking to on the way out said that it was the biggest away support he had seen at London Stadium and easily beat the previous 13000 record. *WHF may or may not exist or be an amalgam of several fans spoken to at different times.
  16. Nelson is a better prospect than Yeboah having watched them both. Yeboah is big strong and enthusiastic. Although he is quick, Nelson is greased lightning and has a better touch and understanding of the game as a whole.
  17. I thought Mehmeti played more inside in the 1st half, Cam was so far up on the left he was playing as our widest attacker. With Tanner playing his usual defensive role, it was almost like a back 3 with Cam coming back to help out.
  18. Getting the basics right today... Mind you it does help when the centre halves are less mobile than those static dummies.
  19. So is everything up for criticism now, even some confidence building? That sound I can hear must be the bottom of the barrel being scraped.....
  20. Seriously? Do they just cut and paste these made up comments? How many years have they been posting this shit now.
  21. So we would all have been patient and waited until he was 28 years old before he showed his full potential, but we are more than ready to pass on Mehmetl, Bell or even Conway at 22? OK, sounds believable.
  22. I guess he is basing his views on the fact that the crowd numbers didn't change much despite their protestations when he was appointed initially.
  23. It seems strange that they have made so much more fuss about him than the other two who are clearly Academy signings. I would have thought it was more likely that he will be playing Academy football for fitness but training with the first team.
