As a City supporter and a resident of North Somerset, I would like to say........ Come on Glos!!
-
Apparently Somerset hardly winning a game this season doesn't stop their players being picked for England, first Craig and now Jamie Overton. They both just about squeeze into the averages in the CC but neither of them have any form in T20 cricket which is surely more of a marker than the 4 day game.

yup- early 80-81 if memory serves
I am still amazed we managed to get them out again!!

Any sign of a conclusion to the court case this week? It must be close to the point that UWE will pull the plug anyway if they don't get a clear response from Piggsy.
-
Please, please, please, let us draw the Basement Pikeys in the League Cup.
Please.
Don't think we would want to be even accidentally responsible for making them some money would we?

And some more plastic chairs
Here we upgrade to picnic benches
Are those official club scarves? They look like the tat sold outside wembley, the second one could be wheeled out anytime a team in blue turn up.

Sheffield United fans are some of the most deluded in football and think that big gates automatically intitle you to be in the Premier League. They do not realise that it is league position that counts and nothing else.
I thought the guys arguments were quite well reasoned and would be perhaps similar to the ones we would give to people sniffing around our players. I would argue that it is easier to fly to Scotland from BRS than drive from Sheffield other than that I think he has some valid points.

What was the time limit that UWE put on them to start building? I thought they wanted a quick decision so they can build more faculties instead?
-
I did last week.
I think Preston will beat us up there and we'll drop points and finish 2nd.
Money down the drain. I guarantee it.
-
No but let's be realistic.
I think we'll finish 2nd
Ok get down the bookies then mate because you will get great odds on that right now......

Scuse me....... Is this more irony or are you talking easter bollocks ?
It's timeshift and some of our fans think it's still April Fools day.......

Doesn't hide we.'re stuttering.
doesn't hide that some of our fans need a ******* reality check.

If there is any club with a history of disappointing it's Bristol City.
Two points from six...
Or 85 from 40.
11 matches unbeaten

I've never, ever seen the merit behind short corners. They almost never amount to anything. A corner kick is a free ball into the danger area. Flipping well use it.
Anybody think short corners ever have a purpose? Only time I can think is when you're trying to waste time at the end of a game.
I think there are three intentions behind the short corner, one is to change the angle of the delivery, two is to draw at least one player out of a congested penalty area and the third is to make it harder for defences as they have to hold their shape for longer.

David Lloyd is such a poor un-inspirational commentator & has just proven what little he knows. No David a draw at Oldham would not be a good result in my opinion.
A draw away from home is always a good result, a draw away to a team chasing a play off position is better.
-
Last time we drove there to watch City, I stopped in the car the suburbs to ask a young lady "Excuse me, what's the best way to Oldham". It was like a 1970's sitcom.........
Had the same problem in London once when I wanted directions to Turnham Green....

He does need to be careful - he always puts in a couple of hard tackles a game that are borderline yellows..
That's almost any tackle in the modern game.

No way have we ever gone though a season with so few changes -- and I doubt many other clubs have achieved this either. No injuries no changes. Another angle amongst many on why this season has been so unique.
I think we only used 13 players the season we got into the 1st division.

Completely disagree. We were utterly comfortable throughout. At times we let Walsall have the ball in areas where they couldn't hurt us but, a slight wobble mid-way through the first half aside, there wasn't a single moment where I thought Walsall might score and I reckon our players had more than enough in the tank to respond if Walsall had got a goal from someone.
I thought it was a thoroughly professional performance. What also really struck me, from sitting right up at the top of the stadium and looking down on the action from above, is how fluid our formation is. At different points of the game we were be 3 - 5 - 2, 5 - 3 - 2, 3-2-4-1, 4 - 4 - 2 and 4 - 3 - 1 - 2 and it made it pretty much impossible for Walsall to pick players up or know where they'd be. Seeing the team in a big stadium with a quality pitch just emphasised how good they actually are.
I agree and that fluidity for the most part comes from the engine room that Pack and Smith have become, and the ability of Ayling in particular and Williams to a slightly lesser extent, to bring the ball forward and look confident on the ball. How many centre halves at this level could have played the pass Williams did with the outside of his foot, to start the move for the 2nd goal?

Well done. You were the better side by a country mile and quite rightly won't have the opportunity to defend the cup next year, giving us proper lower league sides a chance!
Probably be the biggest crowd I'll ever see my team play in front of. Thank you.
I'll be down your place for the final game, for what will probably be another parade!
Congratulations and see you in May.
Have to say i was very disappointed in your lot. To clear off at the final whistle like that was poor, there were only a few handful left to give your lads a "gallant losers" reception, it was left to us to applaud them for getting you there and for not rolling over completely. Poor show.

Can't be too critical after three fantastic away wins, but not sure what game Steve was watching after his post match comments. I thought we were pedestrian all game and totally lacked creativity whereas he says we were magnificent and could have won by four or five.
Hmmm.
I agree with Cotts, I thought we played some superb football against a side who know us very well and defended excellently partly due to that. I took a look at their fans on a couple of occasions in the 2nd half and even they seemed to be shaking their heads at some of our chances. I think on another day, that could have been the trouncing that we all think someone should get from this team, I am hoping it will be Swindon now.

I understand Gillingham is where the word 'Chavs' first derived.. tells you all you need to know Aizoon.
I thought that was Chatham or "chavham" if you say it quick in a SouthEast accent

You are right AR, they seem to think that sticking by the club without a murmur of disapproval throughout the swindling and underhand tricks that have been perpetrated by various boards and chairmen makes them great fans. Great fans would have been sitting on the pitch years ago demanding something better for their loyalty.
Producing a DVD of your escape from non-league football and describing as a high point for the club is laughable and the fact that there are many of them that can't see the irony of this shows that some of their heads so deeply buried in the sand (probably in the centre circle of the mem) that they can see investment coming to them via Australia!
