  1. Patel gone. 27 runs or one wicket to go.
  2. 33 runs or two wickets needed. Shame we made a total balls of getting the last few first innings wickets and then our whole second innings.
  3. Back to normal. Good thing we didn't need the draw to stay up in the end!
  4. Yes, Cooper is a Netherlands international. In fairness to him he's had a hell of a difficult year but I think we need a couple of batsmen. If we can get a good keeper batsman we could get away with one more addition there. I wasn't sure about seamers but there's a chance that one or more of the three young seamers will be away a bit next year too...
  5. Too right. Hoping for a couple of batsmen and a 'keeper to come in for the new season. I don't know how long Allenby's contract is, but surely Cooper at least won't be retained. Hopefully we can use our overseas ticket on a very good batsman who will actually be here for most of the season. Getting Rehman was incredibly stupid given that we've Leach and then Dockrell sat on his arse for most of the season.
  6. Hants are 68-4. I think I'm right in saying that if they don't reach 300, Somerset don't need to take another point? Corrected, I think it's 300 rather than 350.
  7. First part of that job complete, Tom, after a bit of a wobble. Six wickets in 110 overs for safety. Be nice to win the game from here though, go out on a high. Hopefully the 17-4 from earlier is an indication that the pitch is doing something.
  8. Get to 250 and then match rained off. Seven points, happy days. Alternatively, get 350 and bowl them out in 110 overs. Alternatively, just win the ****in' game!
  9. Fair play to Glos. I don't think there's a more odious bunch than Slurrey, so bloody well done.
  10. We need to take seven points from our last game to be mathematically secure. Bowling them out in 110 overs and scoring 350 would be enough. Be nice to go out with a win though.
  11. I think I'm on my own with this one. I want Somerset to have the best chance of staying up but I felt it would have been unsporting. Ultimately it made no difference, which is good.
  12. It'll pay off about 1.2% of what I owe. All donations gratefully received.
  13. You could also donate your hard-earned to the Michael Robartes slate in the Cooper's Arms.
  14. Captains shake hands on the draw after Trego gets his ton. Very strange as two more wickets would have given them another bonus point.
  15. Hey, don't shoot the messenger, Super! I suppose the solution is to bat out the remaining overs without losing any wickets! Maximum bonus points out of two days' play having lost the toss is a damn good result for Somerset anyway.
  16. Probably the majority would agree with you. In fairness there's a strong argument that the batting side should be allowed to declare whenever they like. Radio commentators suggesting that Somerset will not declare on 400 as they could be charged with bringing the game into disrepute which could result in a points deduction.
  17. Maybe I'm being OTT. I'd say that it would be an unsporting thing to do with absolutely no chance in hell of a result, but we'll see.
  18. Somerset CCC twitter suggesting that there is some debate as to whether Somerset will be allowed to declare at 400 to deny Sussex further bonus points. The thought of declaring just to deprive the opposition of the opportunity to get more bonus points makes me a bit uncomfortable. It doesn't seem right.
  19. Leach gets Carberry. 149-1. Obviously he's not as good as Rehman though...
  20. Yes, well done to Cooper too. Been a really tough year for him.
  21. Brilliant first ton for Abell. Outstanding innings from Banger too, made up for him.
