  1. Yeah, never quite get that right. Basically, Pearson's Bristol City smashing it. ?
  2. For me, you cannot underestimate the impact Pearson has. Just as developing academy players and having a pathway becomes self-fulfilling as the better young players want to come here, the same is true for the first team. Pearson and his team are selecting players to fit a style of play and within that framework he is confident enough in himself to give players the responsibility and licence to perform without micromanaging them. (We had a thread about Sean O'Driscoll recently, and this was Sean's philosophy too, although he wasn't able to bring in the same level of talent). Young up and coming players know they will be given the best chance to develop and succeed here, and if we can't deliver promotion they will be able to improve to the point that they have a very good springboard to greater success elsewhere. This in turns means we are able to attract the most up and coming talent here. The cycle continues. My guess is we will see the same virtuous circle for decent loan players from the Prem in the near future, and this may ultimately see us gain promotion.
  3. We obviously differ. Match day threads are fine if you want to follow the play as it unfolds, but it's usually full of emotional and reactionary post after the final whistle. Having a more considered thread a couple hours after then of the match makes for better reading for me, once everyone has calmed down.
  4. I think the live option is different forum ?
  5. @22A I am enjoying your NTTDS level of nerdiness and detail. ??
  6. I feel I need to make a meaningless and non insightful contribution to this thread. As you were...
  7. That's sad. As well as a fantastic footballer he came across a decent man.
  8. Good luck Joe. Any academy player securing a contract with a league club is a success story. It will convince other young players that signing for us will get them a career in professional football, even if it isn't with us. Got to be a good thing.
  9. That's so sad. Thanks for posting the pictures. Looks like he had a lovely family. My condolences to them.
  10. What makes you say that? What kind of striker is he?
  11. Thanks for that, I was gonna ask how come. I relocated to Bristol 32 years ago and happened to move in with a City fan who convinced me to come to game. He's moved away years ago, but left me with this obsession that I've now passed on to my kids too!! ?
  12. Hope you have a great trip over and get tickets for the games you'd like to see. ? I love that we have fans overseas coming to visit and cheers on the lads. ??
  13. Fixed the 3rd line for you ? He does seem like a proper player and someone that could play at a higher level if his progress continues. Excited for the new season.
  14. I've fashioned an ashtray on my bicycle handlebars. The rate I get through my fags I'd have been better off buying a classic car with an ashtray, mind. ??????
  15. Maybe if you have up the fags, you'd be able to buy a decent phone that has NFC?
  16. I think people will get used to it. Just open the wallet before you leave the pub, or home and lock the screen with the ticket showing. Then quick unlock to show anyone. Better still give anyone that needs to inspect tickets an NFC enabled device that could just check the ticket from a scan when your phone is presented. No need to physically open your wallet app.
  17. When you hit the DETAILS button on the ticket, there's information about moving the ticket to another email account. Could this be the way to share with someone else? Looks like they will have to remove from their Google wallet so you can download back to your account. (Haven't read the whole so apologies if already shared).
  18. I had my email registered my son's record as he was toddler when I his first ST. I just forwarded the email to him and hie downloaded it to his wallet.
  19. A good read, @Shtanley. Thank you to all the contributors. I really must get along to support El Rincon sometime. I particularly liked the piece on Mo Dola. It was a real shame the club didn't make more of Famara time time to break down some barriers between didn't sections of the City family. Though they have reached out too so that's encouraging. And very sad (but not surprising) to hear that Mo still witnesses racism at games. I do hope if someone like Mehmeti makes a success of his time with us, we can celebrate the diversity of our support more and encourage everyone to come the Gate, to feel safe and to feel like they belong.
  20. It will be tough on Tanner but as long as he has a decent enough preseason, I'll be very surprised in McCrorie doesn't start as RB. We need more goals from all the team and he can bang them in. O'Leary and Conway are really only two I can confident will start. Very encouraging to have such a strong squad.
  21. I have no idea how the app will work, but those saying 'just screen shot' it, there are app that prevent screen shots to be taken. My banking app and First Bus app so precisely this to either enforce security or to stop tickets being shared illegally. I hope the club do leave a loophole to allow unused tickets to be shared. I go with 5 others (used to be 12 of us but life has got in the way for others) and we often lend out a ticket to someone who otherwise wouldn't come. Got a couple of new season tickets holder this way, so the club can benefit in the long run aside from any drinks they may buy there on the day. My son is disabled but very tech savvy so he will be fine. However, he first got a season ticket as a child and never had an email address at that time. They still have his details registered with my email. The club may need to do a data cleanup to make sure email addresses are up to date is that's part of the verification for a season ticket holder.
  22. Clubs talk alot about inclusiveness and equality so they all should offer this option. I am uncomfortable with shirts that promote drinking and gambling because of the harm these can cause to some individuals and their families, but for a substantial number of people they object on religious grounds. Everyone should feel they can be part of the City family and get a shirt if they want to. Well done Watford.
  23. 'Death of a Disco Dancer' surely?
  24. Seems odd doesn't it? I guess the alternative would be to have done the same with him as NP did with Massengo and give him the cold shoulder in the last year of his contract because he wouldn't sign. However, playing him and securing the treble is much more important that losing out on £50m.
