  1. Never mind who's wearin' what, tell 'em yer Buster story.
  2. Yes - but those appearances were long before they signed for Wycombe! That's the point - at the time they joined Wycombe pretty much no-one else wanted them. Certainly not Championship clubs. Thus, describing them as "Championship quality players" is a stretch, at best. By your logic - Joe Jordan 200 games for Leeds, 100 games for Man U, 50 games for AC Milan, 50 caps for Scotland, played at 3 World Cups. Yes indeed, people, we signed a world class player there. Not when we signed him he wasn't - with the utmost respect to the Great Man.
  3. And the very same BCC who sponsored their bloody club via Bristol Energy. You have to be a moron of epic proportions to think BCC are anti-gAss but that's gAssholes for you.
  4. Yep, marking Haaland out of the Cup game won't do him any harm!
  5. Quite. We must be missing something. Or not sufficiently dense.
  6. You're right about his strengths and weaknesses. But yesterday's selection wasn't about that - it was about the fact that the starting 3 against Norwich had run their backsides off, so the Sports Science (Dave Rennie) said that - if we want to avoid avoidable injuries - it was better to give the Norwich starters a rest and go with fresh legs. It was a selection driven by science not tactics. Yesterday was a draw not because we switched up the front 3 but because Wigan sat deep, kept their shape and didn't allow us to play to our strength as a counter attacking team - unlike Norwich who thought they were good enough to come here and do their thing, irrespective of the opposition.
  7. Not convinced - he's poor when confined to wide areas. Needs a role that allows him to roam a bit more to be at his best, imo. In the current formation, we have others better suited to the role he played last night - Mark Sykes, basically. Sykes is nowhere near as talented a player but he sure is more effective in the current system. Somehow. So our evolution under Pearson gathers pace. Some will get left behind.
  8. Well what is he, if wor Weimann's not a wideman? Could he share no.9 duties with Wells? His preferred position, after all, though not necessarily his best - a freer role in behind which allows him to arrive in the box unmarked was how he scored so many last season. He demonstrated real instinct for space and being in the right place at the right time. Was the W-S-M formation key to that though? What now for Weimann without his S&M? Steady! And fwiw, I'm not convinced by Cornick in a central position either but it's early days for him, tbf. Still got Conway to come back too - that'll complicate things further - and his form before injury surely puts him in a matchday squad at least, if not the starting 11. Wor Weimann might not even make the bench then - club captain consigned to the stiffs! And if he plays like did last night, he won't be missed - anonymous, apart from when he was f!k ing up. Deary me.
  9. Yep or if you're paying on the day. Absolutely pointless behaviour asking to see tickets.
  10. Heart in mouth moment, that.
  11. He did but after coming on as sub and only playing 30 mins. A nice header from a good cross. But he's not quite so effective these days when having to play the full 90. Personally hope they survive - if only for Albert's sake. There are far more objectionable clubs in trouble who I'd like to see disappear. Permanently.
  12. It is. But... It's one of many - too many It's basic - to the point you'd think the club was run by idiots And god knows what we'd make of it, if the other lot made such basic errors - except we do know, e.g. Doncaster United
  13. But it's a piece of piss to do both. So why can't we?
  14. And I think the final nail - if we ever managed it - would be getting to the Premier League. For that alone, it would be worth it.
  15. What are the odds on Guernsey producing 2 Alex Scotts, do you think? Just from a purely statistical point of view, the odds are stacked against Acey being anywhere near Scott's level. Good luck to the lad but don't hold your breath.
  16. So do I, just not the football some of his teams have played! I mean, he can't be all bad considering the number of times he's stuck it to the gAsshole blue few, including the last time he was at Huddersfield. Back in the day, he wasn't backward in coming forward about how tinpot that lot were (still are!) - compare that to his public comments about us.
  17. Out of interest, how have you sourced these clippings? Do you have access to the british newspaper archive website or similar?
