Surely has to be in the conversation as one of the worst players xi to ever play for us.
As midfielders go, nowhere near!

Someone on Twitter said he should have called his business Henri Lawnsbury

For those saying he deserves a second chance, he has already had it, not being prosecuted.
He can enjoy his second chance outside of football, which his status and wealth has afforded him.
Disgusting that any club could consider him with the scarring recordings that many of us heard. I imagine he will still end up playing for a club in a country which has very different standpoints on domestic violence to us.

And of Portsmouth, Bolton, Derby and Bristol City, which one of these is going to return to the top division next/first? And which one is best placed to do so at this moment?

And this is the point some posters refuse to acknowledge,
Selling players for offers too good to turn down will always happen, the key is sucession planning
And that's what I see the club putting in place, hence the production line from the academy in recent years
You’re on the wrong forum. This is far too reasonable for OTIB.

We’re not the only selling club after all
Some of our fans would still say we lack ambition!

Well let’s not bother then , seems other teams can do it ?
Can they? Only 2 players scored more than 20 in the Champ last season and neither of their clubs have managed to keep them.

I suppose we should also sign them on a pay as you play deal and revert to 442?

Hard working, good press, strong, tall and good finisher. Personally I think he’s got everything including an incredible desire and work ethic. If Conway was to leave next summer then Palmer-Houlden can just step in.
Very exciting then! Could have some great striking options next year
-
What sort of player is he? Looks similar to Conway in physique from that video

He’s doing exceptionally well, their only senior striker (Omar Bogle) hasn’t been available so he’s had to play the role from the get go, so to have 2 goals in 3 games plus an assist in his first ever league games at 19 is really impressive.
Early I know but interested if we have a release clause in January if he’s still doing so well.
Problem was we did this with Semenyo a few years ago and stifled his development for 6 months.

To be fair, look around we are far from unique. We maybe one of the worst for it and SL now has to back NP as far as possible within sensible limits. Ambition hut not ruinously.
Coventry and Gykores- Oh no, wait gone- and Hamer looks likely.
Middlesbrough- Have done very well to keep hold of their 29 goal striker Akpom with interest from Sheffield United, Lens and Ajax..Oh wait he's probably off.
Norwich- Aarons. Final year of Parachute Payments etc.
Watford- Still Parachute bolstered, and some decent sales last hear might have seen them keep one of Sarr and Pedro. Nope, Asprilla also linked with Brighton.
Which clubs are you comparing us to unfavourably btw.
Key will be now reinvesting some of this in NP's ideal targets.
Think that’s what they call a slam dunk - all those calling us lacking ambition have no idea of the footballing landscape outside Bristol City.

Luton are such an exception. They were and still are in dreamland and completely defied expectations and overperformed. It’s incredibly harsh to compare.

Sometimes the most productive relationships are between those who don’t see eye to eye or agree on everything.
If everyone in a business agreed about absolutely everything they would get shafted when that opinion turns out to be wrong and nobody saw the other side of the coin!
Opposing voices add balance to the situation, it is far better now than the LJ days.

No way it would be anywhere near £1.5m
Signed for Burnley for £4million last summer, so I don’t think it’s unfeasible they would be looking to recoup a large amount of that if not selling.
If there is no chance of a permanent deal (including loan + future transfer), I would rather us stick to our current policy and not repeating previous mistakes for short-term fixes.

It could have still be a freebie, but if not I don't see why he shouldn't pay like the rest of us. Its not like he can't afford it.
Maybe he snuck in with an Under 12s ticket?

Craig Cathcart (worked with Nige at Watford), Cieran Clark and Daniel Ayala are all still available as free agents.
I hope we don’t sign any again journeymen like this on the way down. Would much rather look to the academy and strengthen elsewhere.

For all his undoubted technical ability the stats of 1 league goal and a handful of assists is hardly impressive and irreplaceable if City get someone in midfield who scores goals the current Alex Scott not the potential Alex Scott won't be missed too much.
I don’t think you just go out and buy a player who can dictate the play in the same way that Scott can.

We will stand out with our awful kits when we win the playoffs, master stroke if you ask me.

Does anyone else want to see Moises Caicedo move club before Scott starts discussing terms with anyone? If Caicedo goes then Brighton will have more money and one less midfielder and I'd love to see that spring them into action with Scott as I'd much rather see him go to Brighton than Wolves and especially Bournemouth who's fans seem to think they can just buy any player they like from us and we should just accept whatever they offer.
Especially with the amount of money they are demanding for Caicedo.
-
I'm not convinced Bournemouth is the best location for Scott. He will know that in 1 more season his value will be a lot less and he may well have a lot more suitors than one of the relegation favourites.

It’s off topic but Semenyo wasn’t really carrying us while he was here was he? Had brilliant moments but was up and down.
He was involved in over 40% of our goals last season up until he left!

I honestly think he was in the wrong role. He would have been far better in a strategic role rather than man management.
